இயேசு சீக்கிரம் வரப்போகிறார்! மாரநாதா!

வாசிக்க:  மல்கியா 3-4; வெளிப்படுத்தின விசேஷம் 22

வேத வசனம்:  வெளிப்படுத்தல் 22: 7. இதோ, சீக்கிரமாய் வருகிறேன்; இந்தப் புஸ்தகத்திலுள்ள தீர்க்கதரிசன வசனங்களைக் கைக்கொள்ளுகிறவன் பாக்கியவான் என்றார் (இயேசு).

கவனித்தல்: ஒரு நாட்டின் அதிபர் அல்லது பிரதமர் ஒரு இடத்திற்கு வரும்போது, அவர்கள் வருவதற்கு முன்னதாக, விரும்பத்தகாத அல்லது பாதுகாப்பு குறைவு சம்பந்தமாக ஏதேனும் நடந்துவிடாதபடிக்கு மிகவும் கவனமாக அதிகபட்ச பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் ஆயத்த ஏற்பாடுகள் செய்யப்படும். உரிய நேரத்தில், அதிகாரிகள் தலைவர்களின் வருகை பற்றி மக்களுக்கு அறிவிப்பார்கள். பழைய ஏற்பாடு மற்றும் புதிய ஏற்பாட்டின் கடைசி வசனங்கள் மேசியாவின் வருகையைப் பற்றி தீர்க்கதரிசனமாகக் கூறுகின்றன. மல்கியா தீர்க்கதரிசி தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையை நினைவு கூர்ந்து, தேவனிடம் திரும்பும்படி ஜனங்களை அழைக்கிறார். வெளி.22:7இல், அப்போஸ்தலனாகிய யோவான் நாம் இயேசுவின் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்பதற்கு நம் கவனத்தைத் திருப்பி, தேவனுடைய வார்த்தைக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிய நம்மை உற்சாகப் படுத்துகிறார். இங்கே, தங்கள் வாழ்வில் தேவனுடைய வார்த்தைகளைக் கைக்கொள்கிறவர்கள் பாக்கியவான்கள் என்று இயேசு சொல்கிறார்.

வெளிப்படுத்தல் 22இல், ”சீக்கிரமாய் வருகிறேன்” என்று இயேசு மூன்று முறை கூறுகிறார் (வ.7, 17, 20). இது இயேசுவின் இரண்டாம் வருகையானது, வேதம் திரும்பத் திரும்பக் கூறுவது போல, மிகவும் நிச்சயமான ஒன்று என்பதை குறிக்கிறது. வெளிப்படுத்தல் 22:7ம் வசனம் வெறும் தீர்க்கதரிசன அறிவிப்பு மட்டுமல்ல.  இயேசுவை விசுவாசித்து, ஆவலுடன் அவருடைய வருகையை எதிர்நோக்கி இருப்பவர்களுக்கான வாக்குத்தத்தமும் ஆகும்.  இயேசுவின் பிறப்பு, ஊழியம், சிலுவை மரணம், மற்றும் உயிர்த்தெழுதல் ஆகியவை இயேசுவின் வாழ்க்கையில் நிறைவேறின. அது போல, இயேசுவின் இரண்டாம் வருகையைப் பற்றிய தீர்க்கதரிசனங்களும் இன்று உலகில் நிறைவேறி வருகிறதை நாம் காண்கிறோம். முதலாவதாக, இயேசு மனிதனுக்கும் தேவனுக்கும் இடையேயான உறவைப் புதுப்பித்து சிலுவையில் சிந்தின இரத்தத்தால் சமாதானத்தை உண்டு பண்ணும் இரட்சகராக வந்தார். அவர் இராஜாதி ராஜாவாக பூமியை நியாயந்தீர்க்கவும் உண்மையுள்ள விசுவாசிகளுக்கு பரிசளிக்கவும் மறுபடியும் வருவார்.

ஒவ்வொரு நாளுக்கான, வாரத்திற்கான, மாதத்திற்கான, மற்றும் வருடத்திற்கான வாக்குத்தத்த வசனத்தை வாசிக்க, கேட்க விரும்புகிற அனேக கிறிஸ்தவர்களை நாம் காண்கிறோம். ”நீங்கள் உங்களை வஞ்சியாதபடிக்குத் திருவசனத்தைக் கேட்கிறவர்களாய் மாத்திரமல்ல, அதின்படி செய்கிறவர்களாயும் இருங்கள்” என்று வேதம் கூறுகிறது (யாக்.1:22). வேதாகமத்தில் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான வாக்குத்தத்தங்கள் உண்டு. ”தேவனுடைய வாக்குத்தத்தங்களெல்லாம் இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவுக்குள் ஆம் என்றும், அவருக்குள் ஆமென் என்றும் இருக்கிறதே” ( 2 கொரி.1:20).  தங்களுடைய வாழ்வில் தேவனுடைய வார்த்தைக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்து அவைகளைக் கைக்கொள்கிறவர்களுக்கான ஆசீர்வாதங்கள் பற்றி அனேக வசனங்களை வேதாகமத்தில் நாம் வாசிக்கிறோம். தேவனுடைய வாக்குத்தத்தங்கள் தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையை விசுவாசித்து அதற்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகிறவர்களுக்கானது ஆகும். இந்த கறைபட்ட உலகில், தேவனுடைய வார்த்தைக்கு ஏற்றபடி வாழ்வதற்கு நாம் ஜாக்கிரதையாக இருக்க வேண்டும். ஏனெனில், இயேசு சீக்கிரம் வரப் போகிறார்.

பயன்பாடு:  உலக ஆட்சியாளர்கள் வருகையில், அவர்களுடைய ஊழியக்காரர்கள் அவர்களுக்காக சகல ஆயத்தங்களையும் செய்வார்கள். ஆனால் இயேசுவோ, தம் வருகைக்கு முன்பாக, தம் சீடர்களுக்கு ஒரு இடத்தை  ஆயத்தம் பண்ணுகிறார் (யோவான் 14:1-3). கிறிஸ்துவின் வருகையும் சகல மனிதருக்கும் நற்செய்தியை அறிவித்தலும் ஒன்றோடொன்று தொடர்புடையது ஆகும் (மத்.24:14). அனைவருக்கும் நற்செய்தி அறிவிக்க வேண்டும் என்ற இயேசுவின் மாபெரும் கட்டளையை நிறைவேற்றுவதில் எனக்கும் பங்கும் பொறுப்பும் இருக்கிறது (மத்.28:18-20).  மனிதர்கள் இன்று சந்திக்கும் பல சவாலான கேள்விகளுக்கு இயேசுவின் சுவிசேஷம் பதிலளிக்கிறது.  நான் என் வாழ்வில் இயேசுவுக்கு உண்மையாக இருந்து, சமயம் வாய்த்தாலும் வாய்க்காவிட்டாலும் திருவசனத்தை கவனத்துடன் பிரசங்கிக்க இருக்க வேண்டும். இயேசுவின் வருகை சமீபம். ”ஆமென், கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுவே, வாரும்” (வெளி.22:20).

 ஜெபம்:  தந்தையாகிய தெய்வமே, வேதாமகத்தில் நீர் எனக்குத் தந்திருக்கிற அனைத்து வாக்குத்தத்தங்களுக்காகவும் உமக்கு நன்றி. ஒருபோதும் மாறாத கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுவே, உம்மில் நிலைத்திருக்கவும், உம் முன்மாதிரியை உண்மையுடன் பின்பற்றவும் எனக்கு உதவியருளும். பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரே, கிறிஸ்துவின் சாட்சியாக இருக்க உம் பலம் எனக்குத் தேவை. பெந்தெகொஸ்தே நாளில் சீடர்களைப் பலப்படுத்தினது போல, இன்றும் என்றும் தேவனுடைய மகிமைக்காக நான் வாழ என்னை நிரப்பியருளும். மாரநாதா! ஆமென்.

Jesus is coming soon! Maranatha!

READ: Malachi 3,4; Revelation 22

SCRIPTURE: Revelation 22: 7 “Look, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.”

OBSERVATION:  When the President or Prime Minister of a nation visits a place, well before their arrival, high-level arrangements will be carefully carried out to avoid any unwanted things or security lapses. In due time, officials will inform people about the leaders' coming. The last verses of the Old Testament and the New Testament prophecies about the arrival of the Messiah. Prophet Malachi calls God’s people to remember God’s word and return to God. In Rev.22:7, John turns our attention to hearing the words of Jesus that encourage us to obey the word of God. Here, Jesus says that those who put God’s word into practice in their lives are blessed.

In Rev.22, three times Jesus says, “I am coming soon!” (v.7,12,20). It indicates Jesus’ second coming will be sure, as the scripture says repeatedly. Rev.22:7 is not just a prophetic announcement. It is also a promise for those who believe in Jesus and expectantly wait for his coming. All the O.T prophecies about Jesus’ birth, ministry, crucifixion, and resurrection were fulfilled in the life of Jesus Christ. Likewise, we see that the prophecies about Jesus’ second coming are being fulfilled in the world today. First, Jesus came as the savior to restore the relationship between man and God and made peace through his blood, shed on the cross.  He will come again as the King of kings to judge the world and reward the faithful believers.

We see many Christians who want to hear a promise verse for each day, work, week, month, and year. The Bible says, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says” (James 1:22). There are thousands of promises in the Bible, and “they are “Yes” in Christ” (2 Cor.1:20). We see many bible verses that say the blessedness of those who obey and keep God’s word in their lives. God’s promises are for those who believe his word and obey them. We need to be careful to live according to God’s word in the corrupted world, for Jesus is coming soon.

APPLICATION: When earthly rulers come, their servants would prepare everything for them. But Jesus, before his arrival, is preparing a place for his disciples (Jn.14:1-3). Preaching the Gospel to all people and Christ’s return are interrelated (Mt.24:14). I have a role and responsibility in fulfilling Jesus’ great commission (Mt.28-18-20).  The Gospel of Jesus Christ answers many challenging questions that humans face today. I should be faithful to Jesus in my life and preach the word in season and out of season. Jesus is coming soon. “Amen. Come, Lord Jesus” (Rev.22:20).  

PRAYER:  Father God, thank you for all the promises you have given me in the Bible. Unchanging Lord Jesus, help me remain in you and faithfully follow your example. Holy Spirit, I need your strength to be a witness for Christ. Like you strengthened the disciples on the day of Pentecost, fill me, today and always, to live for God’s glory. Maranatha! Amen.

ஜீவ புத்தகத்தில் என் பெயர்!

வாசிக்க:  மல்கியா 1-2; நீதிமொழிகள் 31; வெளிப்படுத்தின விசேஷம் 21

வேத வசனம்:  வெளிப்படுத்தல் 21: தீட்டுள்ளதும் அருவருப்பையும் பொய்யையும் நடப்பிக்கிறதுமாகிய ஒன்றும் அதில் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லை; ஆட்டுக்குட்டியானவரின் ஜீவபுஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டவர்கள் மாத்திரம் அதில் பிரவேசிப்பார்கள்.

கவனித்தல்:  வளரும் நாடுகள் மற்றும் ஏழை நாடுகளில் இருக்கும் அனேகர் பல்வேறு காரணங்களுக்காக முன்னேறிய வளர்ந்த நாடுகளுக்கு போய் வாழ விரும்புகின்றனர். அதற்காக அவர்கள் தீவிரமான முயற்சிகளை எடுக்கின்றனர். ஆயினும், ஒருவர் நினைத்தவுடன் அப்படிப்பட்ட நாடுகளுக்கு நுழைவு சீட்டு அல்லது விசாவை துரிதமாகப் பெற முடியாது. எனினும், விசா அல்லது நுழைவு சீட்டு கிடைப்பதில் உள்ள கஷ்டங்களைக் கண்டு மக்கள் தங்கள் முயற்சிகளை கைவிட்டுவிடுவதில்லை. எவ்வளவு கடினமாக விதிகள் உள்ளதோ அந்தளவுக்கு விடா முயற்சியுடன் அவர்கள் அனுமதி பெற முயற்சிக்கிறார்கள். கடைசியில், அவர்கள் விரும்பின நாட்டின் குடியுரிமையை பெறும்போது, ஏதோ பெரிய காரியம் ஒன்றை சாதித்தது போல அவர்கள் உணர்கிறார்கள். வெளி.21இல், தேவனுடைய புதிய வானம், புதிய பூமி, மற்றும் புதிய பரம எருசலேம் குறித்த கவர்ந்திழுக்கும் ஒரு குறிப்பை நாம் காண்கிறோம். புதிய வானத்தில் உள்ள ஆசீர்வாதமான வாழ்க்கையானது உலகில் உள்ள எந்த நாட்டிலும் உள்ள ஐசுவரியத்துடன் ஒப்பிடத்தக்கது அல்ல.

ஜீவ புஸ்தகத்தில் பெயர் உள்ளவர்கள் மட்டுமே தேவனுடைய புதிய நகரத்திற்குள் பிரவேசிக்க முடியும். கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் பரலோகம் பற்றிப் பேசும்போது, யாரெல்லாம் பரலோகில் நுழைய மாட்டார்கள் என்பதைப் பற்றி அதிகம் பேசி, அதைக் குறித்து எச்சரிக்கிறதை நாம் காண்கிறோம். வெளி.3:5இல் ஜெயங்கொள்ளுகிறவனுடைய பெயர் ஜீவ புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதப்படும் என நாம் வாசிக்கிறோம். உண்மையுள்ள விசுவாசிகளின் பெயர் ஜீவ புத்தகத்தில் இருக்கும் என்று இயேசு வாக்குப் பண்ணுகிறார். பிலிப்பியில் உபத்திரவத்தின் மத்தியில் இருந்த விசுவாசிகளுக்கு அப்போஸ்தலனாகிய பவுல் எழுதுகையில், “நம்முடைய குடியிருப்போ பரலோகத்திலிருக்கிறது, அங்கேயிருந்து கர்த்தராயிருக்கிற இயேசுகிறிஸ்து என்னும் இரட்சகர் வர எதிர்பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறோம்” என்று எழுதுகிறார் (பிலி.3:20). தேவனுடைய ராஜ்ஜியத்தின் வேலைக்காக இயேசு அனுப்பின 72 சீடர்களும்  தங்கள் ஊழியத்தில் அவருடைய நாமத்தின் வல்லமை பற்றி மிகுந்த மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் திரும்பி வந்து சொல்லுகையில், இயேசு அவர்களிடம் “ஆவிகள் உங்களுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகிறதற்காக நீங்கள் சந்தோஷப்படாமல், உங்கள் நாமங்கள் பரலோகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறதற்காகச் சந்தோஷப்படுங்கள்” என்று சொன்னார் (லூகா 10:17-20). ஜீவ அப்பமாகிய இயேசுவை விசுவாசிக்கிற அனைவரும், அவருடைய வார்த்தைகளுக்கு செவிகொடுத்து கீழ்ப்படிகிறவர்களும், மற்றும் பரிசுத்த ஆவியினால் நடத்தப்பட்டு, கர்த்தருக்கேற்றபடி வாழ்கிறவர்களும் நித்திய ஜீவனை சுதந்தரித்துக் கொள்வார்கள்.

 அடிக்கப்பட்ட தேவ ஆட்டுக்குட்டியானவர் ஜீவ புத்தகத்தைத் திறக்கும்போது, உண்மையுள்ள சீடர்கள் தங்களுக்குரிய பரிசை கர்த்தரிடம் இருந்து பெறுவார்கள். புதிய எருசலேமில் சொல்ல முடியாத மற்றும் விவரிக்க முடியாத மகிழ்ச்சி விசுவாசிகளின் மத்தியில் இருக்கும். கர்த்தர் பரிசுத்தர், பரிசுத்தர், பரிசுத்தர் என்று அவர்கள் பாடிக் கொண்டே இருப்பார்கள். இயேசுவின் மீது நாம் வைத்திருக்கும் விசுவாசம் வீண் அல்ல என்பதை நாம் நினைவில் கொள்வோம். கிருபையினாலே விசுவாசத்தைக் கொண்டு நாம் இரட்சிக்கப்பட்ட போது, இந்த உலகில் நாம் தேவனுக்கு உண்மையாக ஊழியம் செய்யும்படி ஒரு புதிய வாழ்க்கையை வாழத் துவங்குகிறோம். மேலும், இயேசுவுடன் நித்தியத்திலும் தொடர்ந்து வாழ்வோம்.  தேவனுடைய மாபெரும் இரட்சிப்புக்காக நாம் எவ்வளவு நன்றியறிதலுள்ளவர்களாக இருக்க வேண்டும்!

பயன்பாடு: இயேசுவின் மீது நான் வைத்திருக்கும் விசுவாசமானது இந்த உலக வாழ்க்கைக்கும், இனி வரும் வாழ்க்கைக்கும் வாக்குத்தத்தம் உடையதாக இருக்கிறது. தேவனுடைய கிருபையினாலேயன்றி, கிரியைகளினால் நான் தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக வர முடியாது! என்னில் ஏதோ நன்மை இருக்கிறது என்பதற்காக அல்ல, தேவன் தம் அன்பினாலேயே என்னை இரட்சிக்கிறார். எவ்வித பாகுபாடுமின்றி, தேவனுடைய அன்பு தேவைப்படுகிற அனைவருக்கும் நான் அதைப் பகிர்ந்து, இயேசுவை விசுவாசித்து ஜீவ புத்தகத்தில் அவர்களுடைய பெயர்களைப் பதிவு செய்யவும், நித்திய வாழ்க்கைக்கும் நான் அழைப்பு கொடுக்க வேண்டும்.

 ஜெபம்: பரலோதப் பிதாவே, நித்திய வாழ்க்கைக்கான உம் வாக்குத்தத்தத்திற்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. இயேசுவே, உம் இரட்சிப்புக்காக நன்றி. பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரே, கர்த்தருக்கேற்ற வாழ்க்கையை வாழவும், என் வாழ்வில் தேவனுடைய வாக்குத்தத்தம் நிறைவேற ஆவலுடன் காத்திருக்கவும் எனக்கு உதவியருளும். ஆமென்.

Day – 364

My name in the book of life!

READ: Malachi 1,2; Proverbs 31; Revelation 21

SCRIPTURE: Revelation 21: 27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

OBSERVATION:  Many people from developing and under-developed countries desire to move or live in developed countries for various reasons. They make desperate efforts to achieve it. However, a person cannot quickly get a Visa and entry permit to such countries. People do not give up their efforts seeing the hurdles in getting a Visa or entry permit. The harder the rules are the harder they try to get it. Finally, when they get the citizenship of their desired country, they feel as if they have achieved something great thing. In Rev. 21, we see an appealing description of God’s new Heaven, new earth, and the new heavenly Jerusalem. The blessed life in the new heaven is incomparable to the riches of any earthly country.

People whose names are in the book of life alone can enter into the new city of God. When Christians talk about heaven, we see that they often talk about who would not enter heaven and warn people about it. In Rev.3:5, we read that “the one who is victorious” will have their names written on the book of life. Jesus promises that the faithful believers’ names will be in the book of life. Apostle Paul writes the suffering believers in Philippi, “our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ” (Phil.3:20). When the 72 disciples whom Jesus sent for God’s kingdom work returned and reported with great joy about the power of Jesus’ name in their ministry, Jesus said, “do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven” (Luke 10:17-20). All those who believe Jesus, the bread of life, those who listen to his words and obey them, and those who are led by the Holy Spirit and live holy will inherit eternal life.

When the slain Lamb of God opens the book of life, the faithful disciples will receive their due reward from the Lord. There will be unspeakable and indescribable joy among the believers in the New Jerusalem. They will sing, “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord.” Let us remember: Our faith in Jesus Christ is not vain. When we are saved by grace through faith, we begin a new life on this earth to live faithfully to serve God and will continue to live with Jesus in eternity also. How much more grateful we should be for God’s great salvation!

APPLICATION: My faith in Jesus Christ holds promise for the present life and the life to come.  I cannot come before God by any works I have done but only by God's grace! God saves me because of his love, not because something good is in me. Without any discrimination, I must share God’s love with all who need it and invite them to believe Jesus and register their name in the book of life and live in eternity.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank you for your promise of eternal life. Jesus, thank you for your salvation. Holy Spirit, help me to live a life worthy of the Lord expectantly wait for the fulfillment of God’s promise in my life. Amen.

A sin cleansing fountain

READ: Zechariah 13-14; Proverbs 30; Revelation 20

SCRIPTURE:  Zechariah 13: 1 On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity.

OBSERVATION: Visiting famous pilgrim sites and taking sacred bathing is known as punya teerth yatra in India. Traditionally people believe such religious bathing would help them expiate their sins and blemishes. However, experts warn about the water quality in holy places and say they can cause diseases. Here in Zecharia 13:1, we see a fountain that is kept open for the inhabitants of Jerusalem “to cleanse them from sin and impurity.” People who refused to obey the prophets who warned them to get rid of idolatry and sinful practices will come to the Messiah and mourn for him with weeping. The Spirit of God will lead them to come to the Messiah. They need to be cleansed from their sins. But what can wash away them? Bathing in the water would clean external impurities. But such bathing cannot wash away our sins. Here, we see God’s provision for the people who come to him in repentance.

This fountain metaphorically alludes to Jesus the Messiah. Mathew Henry says, “This fountain opened is the pierced side of Jesus Christ, for thence came there out blood and water (John 19:34), and both for cleansing.”  Spurgeon says it is God’s “inexhaustible” fountain for us to receive God’s forgiveness. God’s promise to remove his people’s sins will be fulfilled at the “opened up” fountain of God (Zech.3:9). A promise under the New Covenant is that God will forgive his people and cleanse them from all impurities and idolatry Jer.31:34; Eze.36:25; Rom.11:27; Heb.10:16-18). When Jesus died on the Cross, on that day, the fountain of cleansing and forgiveness was opened up for all. When we confess our sins, “the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all [every] sin” (1 Jn.1:7,9). Inspired by Zechariah 13:1, William Cowper wrote the following meaningful song in 1772 AD:
There is a fountain filled with blood,
Drawn from Immanuel’s veins,
And sinners plunged beneath that flood
Lose all their guilty stains:

APPLICATION: I find God’s grace, mercy, and salvation when I come near the cross where Jesus died for my sins. There is no other shortcut to come before God. When I confess my sins, I receive forgiveness of sins and begin a loving relationship with God. I was dead in my transgressions and sins and far away from God. But by the blood of Jesus Christ, I come near to God. I am a sinner saved by God’s grace. “It is the gift of God” (Eph. 2:8,9). I should always remain in Christ and obey the voice of the Good Sheperd Jesus Every day. In Christ, I have everything I need.

PRAYER: Father God, thank you for your loving provision to cleanse your people from sin and impurity. Jesus, thank you for love that saves us. Holy Spirit, give me your wisdom to follow your guidance to cleanse and protect me from sins.

பாவங்களை கழுவி சுத்திகரிக்கும் ஊற்று

வாசிக்க:  சகரியா 13-14; நீதிமொழிகள் 30; வெளிப்படுத்தின விசேஷம் 20

வேத வசனம்:  சகரியா 13: 1. அந்நாளிலே பாவத்தையும் அழுக்கையும் நீக்க, தாவீதின் குடும்பத்தாருக்கும் எருசலேமின் குடிகளுக்கும் திறக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு ஊற்று உண்டாயிருக்கும்.

கவனித்தல்: புகழ்பெற்ற புண்ணிய ஸ்தலங்களுக்குச் சென்று புனித நீராடுதல் இந்தியாவில் புண்ணிய தீர்த்த யாத்திரை என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறது. மத ரீதியான இப்படிப்பட்ட புனித நீராடுதல் தங்கள் பாவங்களையும் கறைகளையும் நீக்க உதவும் பரிகாரமாக இருக்கிறது என மக்கள் பாரம்பரியமாக நம்புகின்றனர். ஆயினும், புண்ணிய ஸ்தலங்களில் இருக்கும் தண்ணீரின் தன்மை பற்றி நிபுணர்கள் எச்சரித்து, அவை நோய்களை உண்டாக்கக் கூடும் எனக் கூறுகின்றனர். இங்கு சகரியா 13:1 இல், எருசலேமில் உள்ளவர்கள் தங்கள் பாவத்தையும் அழுக்கையும் நீக்குவதற்காக திறக்கப்பட்ட ஊற்று ஒன்றை நாம் பார்க்கிறோம். விக்கிரகாராதனை மற்றும் பாவ பழக்க வழக்கங்களை விட்டுவிடும்படி எச்சரித்த தீர்க்கதரிசிகளுக்கு செவி கொடாமல் இருந்த மக்கள் மேசியாவிடம் வந்து அவருக்காக அழுது புலம்புவார்கள். தேவனுடைய ஆவியானவர் தாமே அவர்களை மேசியாவிடம் வரவழைப்பார். அவர்கள் தங்களுடைய பாவங்களில் இருந்து கழுவப்பட வேண்டியது அவசியம் ஆகும். ஆனால் அவர்களின் பாவங்களை எது கழுவி நீக்க முடியும்? தண்ணீரில் குளித்தல் வெளிப்பிரகாரமான அசுத்தங்களைக் கழுவி சுத்தப்படுத்தும். ஆனால் அது நம் பாவங்களற கழுவி சுத்திகரிக்க முடியாது. இங்கே, மனம் திரும்பி தன்னிடம் வரும் மக்களுக்கு தேவன் வைத்திருக்கும் முன்னேற்பாட்டை நாம் காண்கிறோம்.

இந்த ஊற்று மேசியாவாகிய இயேசுவைக் குறிக்கும் உருவகமாக இருக்கிறது. மேத்யு ஹென்றி என்பவர் சொல்வது என்னவெனில், “இயேசுவின் உருவக் குத்தப்பட்ட விலா பகுதியே இந்த ஊற்று  ஆகும், அங்கிருந்துதான் தண்ணீரும் இரத்தமும் வந்தது (யோவான் 19:34), அவை இரண்டுமே சுத்திகரிப்புக்கானவை.” நாம் தேவனின் மன்னிப்பைப் பெறுவதற்கான தேவனுடைய “ஒரு போதும் வற்றாத” ஜீவ ஊற்று என ஸ்பர்ஜன் கூறுகிறார். தன் மக்களின் பாவங்களை நீக்குவதற்கான தேவனுடைய வாக்குத்தத்தமானது இந்த திறக்கப்பட்ட ஊற்றில் நிறைவேற்றப்படும் (சகரியா 3:9). தேவன் தன் ஜனங்களை மன்னித்து, எல்லா அசுத்தங்கள் மற்றும் விக்கிரக வணக்கத்தில் இருந்து அவர்களை சுத்திகரிப்பார் என்பது புதிய உடன்படிக்கையின் வாக்குத்தத்தம் ஆகும் (எரே.31:34; எசேக்.36:25; ரோமர் 11:27; எபி.10:16-18). இயேசு சிலுவையில் மரித்தபோது, அந்நாளிலே, சுத்திகரிப்பின் மற்றும் மன்னிப்பின் ஊற்று அனைவருக்காகவும் திறக்கப்பட்டது. நாம் நம் பாவங்களை அறிக்கை செய்யும்போது, ”அவருடைய குமாரனாகிய  இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் இரத்தம் சகல பாவங்களையும் நீக்கி, நம்மைச் சுத்திகரிக்கும்” (1 யோவான் 1:7,9). சகரியா 13:1ஆம் வசனத்தினால் ஈர்க்கப்பட்டு, வில்லியம் கௌபர் என்பவர் கி.பி 1772 இல் பின்வரும் அர்த்தமுள்ள பாடலை எழுதினார்.  “இம்மானுவேலின் இரத்தத்தால்
நிறைந்த ஊற்றுண்டே
எப்பாவத் தீங்கும் அதினால்
நிவிர்த்தியாகுமே.”

பயன்பாடு:  என் பாவங்களுக்காக இயேசு மரித்த சிலுவையின் அருகில் வரும்போது தேவனுடைய கிருபை, இரக்கம், மற்றும் இரட்சிப்பை நான் கண்டடைகிறேன். தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக வருவதற்கு வேறு குறுக்கு வழி எதுவும் கிடையாது. என் பாவங்களை நான் அறிக்கை செய்யும்போது, நான் பாவமன்னிப்பைப் பெற்று, தேவனுடன் ஒரு அன்பின் உறவைத் துவங்குகிறேன். நான் என் அக்கிரமங்களிலும் பாவங்களிலும் தேவனுக்கு மிகவும் தூரமாக இருந்தேன். ஆனால் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் இரத்தத்தின் மூலமாக, நான் தேவனுக்கு அருகில் வருகிறேன். நான் தேவ கிருபையினால் இரட்சிக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு பாவி.  ”இது தேவனுடைய ஈவு”  (எபேசியர் 2:8,9). நான் கிறிஸ்துவில் எப்பொழுதும் நிலைத்திருந்து, நல்ல மேய்ப்பராம் இயேசுவின் குரலுக்கு அனுதினமும் செவிகொடுத்துக் கீழ்ப்படிய வேண்டும். கிறிஸ்துவில் நான் எனக்குத் தேவையான அனைத்தையும் உடையவனாக இருக்கிறேன்.

தேவனுக்கு பயப்படுங்கள், வேறு எதற்கும் பயப்படத் தேவை இல்லை

வாசிக்க:  சகரியா 11-12; நீதிமொழிகள் 29; வெளிப்படுத்தின விசேஷம் 19

வேத வசனம்:  நீதிமொழிகள் 29: 25. மனுஷனுக்குப் பயப்படும் பயம் கண்ணியை வருவிக்கும்; கர்த்தரை நம்புகிறவனோ உயர்ந்த அடைக்கலத்திலே வைக்கப்படுவான்.

கவனித்தல்:   ஆபத்துகளை அல்லது பயமுறுத்தல்களை எதிர்கொள்ளும்போது மனிதர்கள் பயத்தை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறார்கள். மனிதன் பிறக்கும்போதே பயத்துடன் பிறக்கிறான் என்று சிலர் சொல்கிறார்கள். இன்றைய உலகில்,  நோய்கள், நிதி நிலைமைகள், அரசியல் காரணங்கள், தீவிரவாதம் போன்ற பல காரணங்களுக்காக நம் சமுதாயமானது பயத்தினால் பீடிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. நவீன விஞ்ஞானம் பலவிதமான பயங்களையும், பயத்தினால் உண்டாகும் நோய்களையும் பற்றி  நமக்குக் கூறுகிறது. பரிசுத்த வேதாகமம் இரண்டு விதமான பயங்களைப் பற்றிக் கூறுகிறது: மனிதனுக்கு பயப்படும் பயம் மற்றும் தேவனுக்குப் பயப்படுதல். நம் சமூகத்தில், குறிப்பாக இந்தியாவில், மற்றவர்கள் என்ன நினைப்பார்களோ அல்லது என்ன சொல்வார்களோ என்று நினைத்துக் கொண்டு மற்றவர்களுக்காக பல பழக்க வழக்கங்களை  மற்றும் நடைமுறைகளை மக்கள் பின்பற்றுகிறதை  நாம் பார்க்கிறோம். ஆனால் வேதாகமமோ, “மனுஷனுக்குப் பயப்படும் பயம் கண்ணியை வருவிக்கும்” என்று கூறுகிறது.

அனேக சபைகளில், மனிதரைப் பற்றிய பயமானது பிரசங்கங்களையும், கிறிஸ்தவ நற்பண்புகள் மற்றும் நடைமுறைகளையும் எப்படி பாதிக்கிறது என்பதை நாம்  காண்பது மிகவும் வருந்தக் தக்க விஷயம் ஆகும்.  மனிதரைப் பற்றிய பயமானது நம் கிறிஸ்தவ கொள்கைகளில் சமரசம் செய்து கொள்ள வழிநடத்தக் கூடும். தேவனுடைய வார்த்தை மற்றும் வழிநடத்துதலுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிவதற்குப் பதிலாக, மனிதருக்குப் பயப்படுகிறவர்கள் மனிதர்களைப் பிரியப்படுத்த முயற்சிப்பார்கள். மனிதரைப் பற்றிய பயத்தை உடையவர்களாக இருந்து, தவறான காரியங்களைச் செய்த பலரைப் பற்றி வேதாகமம்  சொல்கிறது. உதாரணமான, சவுல் ராஜா சாமுவேலிடம் சொன்னதைப் பாருங்கள், ”நான் கர்த்தருடைய கட்டளையையும் உம்முடைய வார்த்தைகளையும் மீறினதினாலே பாவஞ்செய்தேன்; நான் ஜனங்களுக்குப் பயந்து, அவர்கள் சொல்லைக் கேட்டேன்” (1 சாமுவே.15:24). இப்படியாக, மனிதரைப் பற்றிய பயமானது அனேகருக்கு, தேவபக்தியுள்ளவர்களுக்கும் கூட ஒரு கண்ணியாக மாறிவிடுகிறது. பலரும் நினைப்பது போல, தேவனுக்குப் பயப்படுதல் என்பது தேவனுக்குப் பயந்து பயந்து பயத்தில் காரியங்களைச் செய்வது அல்ல; அது எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் தேவனை நம்பி, அன்பில் அவருக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிவது ஆகும். நீதிமொழிகள் புத்தகத்தில், கர்த்தருக்குப் பயப்படுதலினால் வரும் பல நன்மைகளைப் பற்றி நாம் வாசிக்கிறோம் (1:7; 9:10; 10:27; 14:27; 15:33; 18:10; 19:23; 22:4; 28:26).

கர்த்தருக்குப் பயப்படுதலை உடையவர்கள் தேவனுடைய பாதுகாப்பையும் ஆசீர்வாதத்தையும் கண்டடைகிறார்கள். மனிதரைப் பற்றிய பயம் உடையவர்கள் தங்களைத் தாங்களே ஒரு கண்ணியில் சிக்க வைத்து விடுகிறார்கள். எந்தச் சூழ்நிலையிலும், “மனுஷருக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகிறதைப்பார்க்கிலும் தேவனுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகிறதே அவசியமாயிருக்கிறது” என்று தங்களைப் பயமுறுத்தின யூதர்களிடம் அப்போஸ்தலர்கள் சொன்னதை நாம் நினைவுகொள்ள வேண்டும் (அப்.5:29). நாம் தேவனை நம்பத் துவங்கும்போது, நாம் ஒரு ஆண்டின் எந்த நாளில் இருந்தாலும் சரி, அல்லது நம் வயது என்னவாக இருந்தாலும் சரி, நாம் நம் வாழ்வில் பெரிய காரியங்களைக் காணத் துவங்குவோம்.

பயன்பாடு:  நான் யாருக்குப் பயப்பட வேண்டும் என ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து எனக்குக் கற்பித்திருக்கிறார் ( மத்.10:28; லூக்கா 12:4,5). நான் தேவனுக்குப் பயப்படும்போது, நான் வேறு எதற்கும் பயப்படத் தேவை இல்லை. ”இப்பொழுது நான் மனுஷரையா, தேவனையா, யாரை நாடிப் போதிக்கிறேன்? மனுஷரையா பிரியப்படுத்தப்பார்க்கிறேன்?” என்று நான் அவ்வப்போது என்னை சுயபரிசோதனை செய்து கொள்ள வேண்டும். அப்போஸ்தலனாகிய பவுல் எழுதுவது போல, “நான் இன்னும் மனுஷரைப் பிரியப்படுத்துகிறவனாயிருந்தால் நான் கிறிஸ்துவின் ஊழியக்காரனல்லவே” (கலா.1:10).  கர்த்தருக்குப் பயப்படும் பயமானது என்னை மனிதரைப் பற்றிய பயத்தில் இருந்து விடுவிக்கிறது. தேவன் எனக்கு பயமுள்ள ஆவியைக் கொடாமல், பலமும் அன்பும் தெளிந்த புத்தியுமுள்ள ஆவியையே கொடுத்திருக்கிறார். (2 தீமோ.1:7).

 ஜெபம்: தந்தையாகிய தெய்வமே, என்னை உம் பிள்ளையாக மாற்றுகிற, எந்த பயத்தையும் அகற்றுகிற உம் அன்பிற்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. இயேசுவே, நீர் எனக்கு தருகிற சமாதானத்திற்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரே, எந்த பயத்தையும் ஜெயிக்கவும், தேவனுக்கு எப்பொழுதும் கீழ்ப்படியவும் எனக்கு உதவியருளும். ஆமென்.

Fear God, Fear Nothing

READ: Zechariah 11-12; Proverbs 29; Revelation 19

SCRIPTURE:  Proverbs 29: 25 Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.

OBSERVATION: Humans express fear when facing dangers or threats. Some say that humans are born with fear at the time of birth itself. In today's world, we see our society gripped by fear for various reasons such as diseases, financial situations, political factors, terrorism, etc. Modern science tells us about various types of fear and diseases caused by fear. The Bible tells us of two types of fear: fear of man and fear of God. In our society, especially in India, we see that people are following various customs and practices for the sake of others, fearing what others might say or think. But the Bible says, “Fear of man will prove to be a snare.”

Sadly, in many churches, we see how "fear of man" affects sermons and Christian characteristics and practices. Fear of man may lead us to compromise our Christian ideals. Instead of obeying God’s word and guidance, those who have “fear of man” would try to please people. The Bible says of many men who had “fear of man” and did wrong things. For example, see what King Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned. I violated the Lord’s command and your instructions. I was afraid of the men and so I gave in to them” (1 Sam.15:24). Thus, “fear of man” becomes a snare for many, even godly people. As many people think, fear of God is not fearing God and doing things in fear; it is trusting him for everything and obeying him in love. In Proverbs, we see many benefits of the fear of the LORD (1:7; 9:10; 10:27; 14:27; 15:33; 18:10; 19:23; 22:4; 28:26).

Those who have “fear of the Lord” find God’s protection and provision; those who have "fear of man" entangle themselves in a snare. We should not allow any worldly and social fears or peer pressures to impact us on making decisions or doing something in our lives. In any situation, we must remember what the apostles said to the intimidating Jews, “We must obey God rather than human beings!” (Acts 5:29). When we begin to trust God,  no matter what day of a year or whatever our age may be, we will start to see great things in our lives.

APPLICATION: Lord Jesus Christ has taught me about whom I should fear (Mt.10:28; Luke:12:4,5). When I fear God, I need not fear for anything. Periodically I must ask myself that  “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people?" As apostle Paul writes,  "If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ” (Gal.1:10).  The fear of the Lord delivers me from “fear of man.” The Spirit that God gives me does not “make me timid,” but gives me “power, love and self-discipline” (2 Tim.1:7).

 PRAYER: Father God, thank you for your love that makes me your child and dispels any fear. Jesus, thank you for the peace that you give me. Holy Spirit, help me to overcome any fear and obey God always. Amen.

கர்த்தரின் இரட்டிப்பான ஆசீர்வாதம் பெற வாருங்கள்

வாசிக்க:  சகரியா 9-10; நீதிமொழிகள் 28; வெளிப்படுத்தின விசேஷம் 18

வேத வசனம்:  சகரியா 9: 12. நம்பிக்கையுடைய சிறைகளே, அரணுக்குத் திரும்புங்கள்; இரட்டிப்பான நன்மையைத் தருவேன், இன்றைக்கே தருவேன்.

கவனித்தல்: பண்டைய காலத்தில், மக்கள் தங்கள் எதிரிகளையும் மற்றும் திரும்பத் திரும்ப தவறு செய்கிறவர்களையும் தண்ணீரற்ற வறண்ட மற்றும் பாழான கிணற்றில் அல்லது குழியில் வீசி  (உதாரணம்: யோசேப்பு, எரேமியா) தண்டிப்பார்கள். தண்ணீரற்ற குழிக்கொப்பான நிலையில் வாழும்படி கட்டாயப்படுத்தப் பட்ட நிலையில் தேவ ஜனங்கள் சிறைக்கைதிகளாக  இருந்த நிலைமையைப் பற்றி நாம் இங்கு வாசிக்கிறோம். அவர்கள் நம்பிக்கையின்றி, தேசத்தில் உயிர்தப்பி வாழ்வதற்கான உதவியின்றி இருந்தனர். ஆனால், தேவன் அவர்களை விடுவிப்பேன் என வாக்குப் பண்ணினார். தேவன் தம் ஜனங்களுடனான இரத்தத்தினாலாகிய உடன்படிக்கையை (யாத்.24:6-8) நினைவு கூர்கிறார்.  தேவன் தம் ஜனங்களை விடுவிக்கும்போது, அவர்கள் தன்னிடம் திரும்ப வேண்டும் என தேவன் அழைக்கிறார். நம் தேவன் தம் ஜனங்களுக்கான உறுதியான கோட்டை ஆவார். அவர் நம்பிக்கையில்லாத சிறையிருப்புவாசிகளை நம்பிக்கையுடைய சிறைகளே என அழைக்கிறார். ”எங்கள் எலும்புகள் உலர்ந்துபோயிற்று; எங்கள் நம்பிக்கை அற்றுப்போயிற்று; நாங்கள் அறுப்புண்டுபோகிறோம்” என இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் கூறினர் (எசேக்.37:!1). அவர்கள் தம்மிடம் திரும்ப வரும்போது தன்னிடம் நம்பிக்கையை மக்கள் கண்டு கொள்ள முடியும் என தேவன் சொல்கிறார்.  தன்னிடம் வருகிறவர்களுக்கு இரட்டிப்பான நன்மையைத் தருவதாக தேவன் வாக்குப் பண்ணி இருக்கிறார். தன் ஜனங்கள் எதிரியிடம் இழந்தவைகளை இரண்டத்தனையாக தருவேன் என்று தேவன் வாக்குப் பண்ணுகிறார்.

மேசியாவே இஸ்ரவேலரனைத்திற்கும், எல்லா மக்களுக்கும் நம்பிக்கையாக இருக்கிறார். சிலுவையில் தம் தியாக பலியின் மூலமாக, கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு அனைவரையும் இரட்சிப்பதற்கு இரத்தத்தினாலாகிய புதிய உடன்படிக்கையை செய்திருக்கிறார். அவர் அனைவரையும் தன்னிடம் வரும்படி அழைத்து, அவர்களுடைய ஆத்துமாக்களுக்கு இளைப்பாறுதலைக் கொடுக்கிறார் (மத்.11:28-30). ”உங்கள் வெட்கத்துக்குப் பதிலாக இரண்டத்தனையாய்ப் பலன் வரும்; இலச்சைக்குப் பதிலாகத் தங்கள் பாகத்தில் சந்தோஷப்படுவார்கள்; அதினிமித்தம் தங்கள் தேசத்தில் இரட்டிப்பான சுதந்தரம் அடைவார்கள்; நித்திய மகிழ்ச்சி அவர்களுக்கு உண்டாகும்” என மேசியாவாகிய இயேசு வாக்குப் பண்ணுகிறார் (ஏசாயா 61:7).  நம் தற்போதையை சூழ்நிலை, காரியங்கள், மற்றும் நம்மைச் சுற்றிலும் இருக்கிறவர்கள் ஒரு பிரகாசமான எதிர்காலத்திற்கான நம்பிக்கையைத் தராமல் போகலாம். இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் அப்படிப்பட்ட ஒரு நிலையிலேயே இருந்தனர். ஆனால், நம் சூழ்நிலை என்னவாக இருந்தாலும், “இன்றைக்கே” நன்மையை தருவேன் என தேவன் சொல்கிறார்.  தாகமுள்ள அனைவரும் தம்மிடம் வந்து தாகத்தையும் பசியையும் “பணமுமின்றி விலையுமின்றி” தீர்த்துக் கொள்ளும்படி தேவன் அழைக்கிறார் (ஏசாயா 55:1-3). ”நான் கொடுக்கும் தண்ணீரைக் குடிக்கிறவனுக்கோ ஒருக்காலும் தாகமுண்டாகாது; நான் அவனுக்குக் கொடுக்கும் தண்ணீர் அவனுக்குள்ளே நித்தியஜீவகாலமாய் ஊறுகிற நீரூற்றாயிருக்கும்” என்று இயேசு தன்னிடம் வந்த சமாரியப் பெண்ணிடம் கூறினார் (யோவான் 4:14). தேவனுடைய விடுதலை, அவருக்குள் பாதுகாப்பாக வாழ்வதற்கான அழைப்பு, மற்றும் இழந்து போனவைகளை திரும்பவும் பெறுவதற்கான தேவனுடைய வாக்குத்தத்தம் ஆகியவை நம் முன்பாக இருக்கின்றன. நாம் விசுவாசித்து தேவனிடம் வரும்போது, அவர் தம் வார்த்தையை நிறைவேற்றுகிறார். தேவனின் இப்படிப்பட்ட ஆசீர்வாதத்தை  யார் தான் அசட்டை செய்ய முடியும்!

பயன்பாடு:  நான் சரீர மற்றும் ஆவிக்குரிய வறட்சியை எதிர்கொள்ள நேரிடும்போது, நான் தேவனிடம் வர முடியும். அவரே என் தேவைகள் அனைத்தையும் திருப்திப்படுத்த முடியும்.  நான் என் முன் இருக்கிற பிரச்சனைகள் அல்லது கவலைகள் எவ்வளவு பெரிது என்று பார்க்கக் கூடாது. அதற்குப் பதிலாக, என் தேவன் எவ்வளவு பெரியவர், வல்லமையுள்ளவர் என்பதை நான் பார்க்க வேண்டும்.  நான் தேவனுடைய ஆசீர்வாதங்களைப் பெறுவதற்காக மட்டுமல்ல, ஒரு அன்பின் உடன்படிக்கை உறவுக்காக நான் தேவனிடம் வருகிறேன்.  நான் தொடர்ந்து அவருடன் உறவாடுகையில் அவரைப் பற்றி நான் ஒவ்வொருநாளும் அதிகமதிகமாக அறிந்து கொள்கிறேன். நம்புகிறதற்கு ஏதுவில்லாத சூழ்நிலையிலும் தேவன் எனக்கு நம்பிக்கையளிக்கிறார். அவர் தன் வாக்குத்தத்தங்களை நிறைவேற்றுவதற்கு ஒரு போதும் தவறுவதில்லை.

 ஜெபம்: தந்தையாகிய தெய்வமே, இன்று நீர் தருகிற நம்பிக்கை மற்றும் வாக்குத்தத்தத்திற்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. கர்த்தாவே, என் மீதான உம் அன்பிற்காகவும் நீர் எனக்குத் தந்திருக்கிற வாக்குத்தத்தங்களை   நிறைவேற்றுவதில் உண்மையுள்ளவராக இருப்பதற்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரே, இன்று நான் தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையை நினைவு கூரவும், என்றென்றைக்கும் தேவ அன்பில் நிலைத்திருக்கவும் எனக்கு உதவியருளும். ஆமென்.

Day – 361

Come to receive the double blessing of the Lord

READ: Zechariah 9-10; Proverbs 28; Revelation 18

SCRIPTURE:  Zechariah 9: 11 As for you, because of the blood of my covenant with you, I will free your prisoners from the waterless pit.
12 Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you.

OBSERVATION: In ancient times, people punished their enemies and repeated offenders by throwing them in a dry and dilapidated well or pit (E.g., Joseph, Jeremiah). Here we see a similar situation where God’s people are prisoners who were forced to live in a condition of a waterless pit. They were with no hope, no comfort, or help to survive in the land. But God promised them that he would deliver them. God remembers his covenant, the blood covenant (Exo.24:6-8), with his people. When God delivers his people, he invites them to return to him. Our God is the strong fortress for his people. He calls the hopeless prisoners as prisoners of hope. Israelites said, “Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off” (Eze.37:11). God says that his people can find hope in him when they return to him. God promises a double blessing to those who come to him. God tells his people that he will “restore twice” of what they have lost to their enemy.

The messiah is the hope of all Israel and the HOPE for all people. Through his sacrifice on the Cross, Lord Jesus Christ made a blood covenant to save all people. He invites all people to come to him and give them his rest to their souls (Mt.11:28-30). Jesus the Messiah promises, “Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours” (Is.61:7). Our present situation, things, and people around us may not offer any ray of hope for a bright future. But God says, “even now,” regardless of our situation, he will “restore”   everything. God calls all who are thirsty to come to him to satisfy thirstiness and hungry “without money and without cost” (Is.55:1-3). Jesus told the Samaritan woman that “whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (Jn.4:14). In front of us, God’s deliverance, his invitation to stay secure in him, and God’s promise for restoration. When we believe and come to God, he will fulfill his word. Who will neglect such a blessing of God!

APPLICATION: When I face physical and spiritual draughts, I can come to God. He alone can satisfy all my needs. I should not see how big my problem or worries before me. Instead, I must see how great and mighty my God is! Not just to receive his blessings, but for a covenantal relationship that is based on love, I come to God. I know him better every day as I commune with him continuously. Christ gives me hope against all hopes and never fails to fulfill his promises.

 PRAYER: Father God, thank you for the hope and promise you give me today. Lord, thank you for your love for me and faithfulness in fulfilling the promises you have given me. Holy Spirit, help me to remember God’s word today and remain in his love forever. Amen.
