எது எளிது?

வாசிக்க: எண்ணாகமம் 1, 2; சங்கீதம் 59;  மாற்கு 2:1-17

வேதவசனம்: மாற்கு 2: 6. அங்கே உட்கார்ந்திருந்த வேதபாரகரில் சிலர்:
7. இவன் இப்படி தேவதூஷணம் சொல்லுகிறதென்ன? தேவன் ஒருவரேயன்றி பாவங்களை மன்னிக்கத்தக்கவர் யார் என்று தங்கள் இருதயங்களில் சிந்தித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.
8. அவர்கள் தங்களுக்குள்ளே இப்படிச் சிந்திக்கிறார்களென்று இயேசு உடனே தம்முடைய ஆவியில் அறிந்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் உங்கள் இருதயங்களில் இப்படிச் சிந்திக்கிறதென்ன?
9. உன் பாவங்கள் உனக்கு மன்னிக்கப்பட்டதென்று சொல்வதோ, எழுந்து உன் படுக்கையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு நடவென்று சொல்வதோ, எது எளிது?

கவனித்தல்: இயேசு திமிர்வாதக்காரனை (பக்கவாதத்தால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட நபரை) குணமாக்கிய போது, தனக்கு முன்பாக அந்த வியாதிப்பட்ட மனிதனை மிகுந்த பிரயாசத்துடன் கொண்டு வந்த மனிதர்களின் விசுவாசத்தைக் கண்டார். அந்த மனிதர்களோ அல்லது திமிர்வாதத்தால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட அந்த மனிதனோ இயேசு சுகப்படுத்தவேண்டும் என எதுவும் கேட்டதாக நற்செய்தி நூலில் இல்லை என்பது மிகவும் ஆச்சரியமளிக்கிறது. ஆயினும்,  “இயேசு அவர்கள் விசுவாசத்தைக்” கண்டார் என நாம் வாசிக்கிறோம். அவர்கள் விசுவாசத்தை மட்டுமல்ல, அங்கே இருந்த மனிதர்களின் சிந்தனைகளையும் அவர் அறிந்து கொண்டார். அந்த திமிர்வாதக்காரனின் பாவங்கள் மன்னிக்கப்பட்டது என்று சொன்னதன் மூலம் இயேசு தேவ தூஷணம் செய்து விட்டதாக வேதபாரகர்கள் நினைத்தனர்.  இயேசுவோ அந்த மனிதனின் நோய்க்கான மூல காரணம் என்ன என்பதை அறிந்து,  “மகனே, உன் பாவங்கள் உனக்கு மன்னிக்கப்பட்டது” என்று சொன்னார். எல்லா நோய்களுக்கும் காரணம் பாவங்கள் அல்ல. ஆயினும், இந்த திமிர்வாதக்காரனின் சம்பவத்தில் நாம் பார்ப்பது போல, பாவங்கள் வியாதிக்கு காரணமாக இருக்கக் கூடும். மனிதனின் நோய்க்கான மூல காரணத்தை புரிந்துகொள்கிற சிறந்த மருத்துவர் இயேசுகிறிஸ்து. அது சரீரப்பிரகாரமானதாக இருந்தாலும் சரி, ஆவிக்குரியப் பிரகாரமானதாக இருந்தாலும் சரி, ஒருவர் சுகமடைய (அ) குணமாகுதலுக்கு ஒரு நபருக்கு என்ன தேவையோ அதை இயேசு செய்கிறார். தன் கேள்வியின் மூலம், வேதபாரகர்களுக்கு இயேசு தன் தெய்வீகத்தைப் பற்றி சொன்னார். அதாவது, அற்புதம் செய்கிற ஒரு ஊழியரை விட மேலானவர் என்று சொல்லி தன் தெய்வீகத்தை அவர்களுக்குப் பறைசாற்றினார். 

பயன்பாடு:  இயேசுவின் தொடுதல் தேவைப்படுகிறவர்களுக்காக நான் எடுக்கும் முயற்சிகளை இயேசு காண்கிறார். என் சிந்தனைகளையும் கூட அவர் அறிந்திருக்கிறார். இயேசுவுக்கு முன்பாக மற்றவர்களைக் கொண்டுவருவதில் உள்ள தடைகளைப் பற்றி நான் யோசிக்கையில், அந்த திமிர்வாதக்காரனின் நண்பர்கள் என்ன செய்தார்கள் என்பதை நான் நினைத்துப் பார்க்க வேண்டும். அசாதரணமான ஒன்றை செய்து அவர்கள் திறப்பை உண்டாக்கினர், இயேசுவின் முன் அவனைக் கொண்டுவர வழி செய்தனர். ஒரு மனிதரின் சரீர குணமாகுதலைக் காட்டிலும், அவருடைய ஆன்மீக நலம் குறித்து இயேசு அதிக கரிசனை உள்ளவராக இருக்கிறார் என்பதை நான் அறிந்து கொள்ள  வேண்டும். நான் என்ன செய்ய வேண்டும் என இயேசு விரும்புகிறாரோ அதை நான் செய்ய வேண்டும். அது மற்ற எதையும் விட செய்வதற்கு எளிதானதாக இருக்கும். என் மூலமாக தேவன் மகிமைப்படுவார். 

ஜெபம்:   இயேசுவே, உம் வல்லமையையும், உம் சித்தத்தையும் அறிந்து கொள்ள எனக்கு உதவுவதற்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. நீர் குணமாக்கவும், பாவங்களை மன்னிக்கவும் வல்லமை உடையவராக இருக்கிறீர்.  உம் முன்பாக வரவும், மற்றவர்களை உம்முன் கொண்டு வரவும் எனக்கு தடையாக இருக்கக் கூடிய எந்த மனத்தடைகள் மீதும் வெற்றி பெற எனக்கு உதவும். உமக்கு அது மிகவும் இலேசான காரியம்! ஆமென்.

Which is easier?

 READ: Numbers 1, 2; Psalm 59; Mark 2:1-17

SCRIPTURE: Mark 2:6 Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, 7 “Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” 8 Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, “Why are you thinking these things? 9 Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’?

OBSERVATION: When Jesus healed the paralytic man, he saw the faith of the men who took efforts to bring the sick man before him. It is interesting to see that the Gospel does not say anything that whether the men or the paralytic man requested Jesus for a healing. However, we read, "Jesus saw their faith." Not only that, he knew even  the thoughts of the men who were sitting there. The teachers of the law thought that Jesus was blaspheming God by saying that the paralyzed man's sins were forgiven. But, Jesus understood the real reason for the paralysis and said, "“Son, your sins are forgiven.” Not all sicknesses are caused by sins. However, as we see in the case of the paralyzed man, sins could cause sicknesses.  Jesus is the great physician who understands the root cause of human sickness. Whether it is physical or spiritual, he does what exactly a person needs for a healing. Through his question, Jesus was telling about his divinity to the teachers of the law. i.e. he was more than a miracle worker. 

 APPLICATION:  Jesus sees my faith when I do something for others who needs his touch. He knows even my thoughts! Whenever I think of the hindrances to bring people before Jesus, I should remember what the friends of the paralyzed man did for him. They made an opening by doing something abnormal. I must understand that Jesus concerns for a person's spiritual well being,  more than a healing. I should do what Jesus wants me to do.  That will be easier to do than anything else, and God will be glorified through me.

PRAYER: Jesus, thank you for helping me to understand your power and your will. You have power to heal and to forgive sins. Help me to overcome any mental barriers that may prevent me to come before you and to bring people to you. It is easier for you! Amen.

இயேசு யார்!

 வாசிக்க: லேவியராகமம் 25-27; சங்கீதம் 58;  மாற்கு 1:21-45

வேதவசனம்: மாற்கு 1:23. அவர்களுடைய ஜெபஆலயத்திலே அசுத்த ஆவியுள்ள ஒரு மனுஷன் இருந்தான்.
24. அவன்: ஐயோ! நசரேயனாகிய இயேசுவே, எங்களுக்கும் உமக்கும் என்ன? எங்களைக் கெடுக்கவா வந்தீர்? உம்மை இன்னார் என்று அறிவேன், நீர் தேவனுடைய பரிசுத்தர் என்று சத்தமிட்டான்.
25. அதற்கு இயேசு: நீ பேசாமல் இவனை விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டுப்போ என்று அதை அதட்டினார்.
26. உடனே அந்த அசுத்த ஆவி அவனை அலைக்கழித்து, மிகுந்த சத்தமிட்டு, அவனை விட்டுப் போய்விட்டது...
32. சாயங்காலமாகிச் சூரியன் அஸ்தமித்தபோது, சகல பிணியாளிகளையும், பிசாசுபிடித்தவர்களையும், அவரிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.
33. பட்டணத்தார் எல்லாரும் வீட்டு வாசலுக்கு முன்பாகக் கூடிவந்தார்கள்.
34. பலவிதமான வியாதிகளினால் உபத்திரவப்பட்டிருந்த அநேகரை அவர் சொஸ்தமாக்கி, அநேகம் பிசாசுகளையும் துரத்திவிட்டார்; அந்தப் பிசாசுகள் தம்மை அறிந்திருந்தபடியால், அவைகள் பேசுகிறதற்கு அவர் இடங்கொடுக்கவில்லை.

கவனித்தல்: இயேசுவின் குணமாக்கும் வல்லமை மற்றும் பிசாசுகள் மீதான அவருடைய அதிகாரம் குறித்து  மாற்கு 1 ம் அதிகாரத்தில் நாம் வாசிக்கிறோம். இயேசு யார் என்பதைக் குறித்து பேசாதபடிக்கு, அவர் பொல்லாத ஆவிகளையும், பிசாசுகளையும் தடுத்து அதட்டியதை நாம் வாசிக்கிறோம். சில கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் பொல்லாத ஆவிகளைப் பேசுவதற்கு அனுமதிக்கிறார்கள். பொல்லாத ஆவிகளின் வார்த்தைகள் இயேசுவின் பெயரில் இருக்கிற வல்லமையை ஜனங்கள் அறிந்து கொள்ள உதவும் என அவர்கள் நினைக்கிறார்கள். ஒரு பொல்லாத ஆவி அல்லது பிசாசு தேவனைப் பற்றியோ அல்லது தேவ ஜனங்களைப் பற்றியோ எதாகிலும் நல்லவிதமாகப் பேசுகிறது எனில், அது நல்ல ஒரு நோக்கத்திற்காக இருக்காது. மாறாக, கேட்பவர்களை தவறாக வழிநடத்துவதே அதன் நோக்கமாக இருக்கும். அந்த அசுத்த ஆவியானது இயேசுவைக் குறித்துச் சொன்னது உண்மைதான். ஆனால் இயேசு தன்னைப் பற்றிய ஒரு பொல்லாத ஆவியின் சாட்சியைக் கேட்க விரும்புவதில்லை. யூதர்கள் இயேசுவின் வருகையின் நோக்கத்தைக் குறித்து அறியாதிருந்தார்கள், ஆனால் அந்த ஆவிகள் இயேசுவின் மனு அவதாரத்தின் நோக்கத்தை நன்கறிந்திருந்தன, மற்றும் அதன் விளைவுகளைப் பற்றி மிகவும் பயப்பட்டன.   மேசியாவாகிய இயேசுவின் மூலம் தேவன் தம் ஜனங்களை விடுவிக்க வைத்திருந்த மீட்பின் திட்டத்திற்கு அந்தப் பொல்லாத ஆவிகள் தடையாக இருக்க, பேச இயேசு அனுமதிக்கவில்லை. ஜனங்களின் மீது அந்த பொல்லாத ஆவிகள் எந்த அதிகாரம் செலுத்தவும் இயேசு அனுமதிக்கவில்லை. ஆகவே அவர் அந்த அசுத்த ஆவிகளை பேசுவதற்கு எந்த வாய்ப்பும் கொடுக்காமல் ஜனங்களை விட்டு துரத்தினார். ஆயினும், இயேசுவின் வார்த்தைகள் மற்றும் கிரியைகள் குறித்து ஜனங்கள் ஆச்சரியமடைந்து பேசியபோது, அவர் அவர்களைத் தடுக்கவில்லை.

பயன்பாடு: இயேசுவால் எந்த வியாதியையும், நோயையும் குணமாக்க முடியும். அவர் சிறந்த மருத்துவர்! என் தேவை என்ன என்பதையறிந்து, அதற்கேற்ப அவர் இடைபடுகிறார். மேலும், பொல்லாத ஆவிகள் எதைக் குறித்தும் பேசுவதற்கு நான் ஒருபோதும் வாய்ப்பு கொடுக்கக் கூடாது. தம் ஜனங்கள் விடுதலையடையவும், பிசாசுகளிடம் இருந்து விடுபடவும் வேண்டும் என இயேசு விரும்புகிறார் என்பதை நான் அறிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும். வியாதிப்பட்டும் பொல்லாத ஆவிகளினால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டும் இருக்கிற ஜனங்களுடைய வாழ்வில் நான் இயேசுவைக் கொண்டு வரும்போது, அவர்கள் விடுதலையைப் பெற்று அனுபவிப்பார்கள். அப்போது, அவர்கள் இயேசு யார் என்பதை அறிந்து கொள்வார்கள். நான் இயேசுவைப் பற்றி பேச வேண்டும். மேலும் தம் ஜனங்களை இரட்சிக்க அவர் நான் என்ன செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று விரும்புகிறாரோ அதைச் செய்ய வேண்டும்.

ஜெபம்:   இயேசுவே, என் வாழ்வில் அனுதினமும் தேவனோடு வாழும்படி என்னை இரட்சித்ததற்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. நீர் ஜனங்களை குணமாக்கவும், பிசாசுகளின் பிடியில் இருந்து விடுவிக்கவும் வல்லமையுள்ளவராக இருக்கிறீர். இன்றும் கூட நீர் மக்களின் வாழ்க்கையைத் தொட வல்லவராக இருக்கிறீர். ஜனங்கள் விடுதலை வாழ்வின் மகிழ்ச்சியைப் பெற்றனுபவிக்கவும், இயேசு உண்மையில் யார் என்பதை அறிந்து கொள்ளவும், அவர்களை உம்மிடத்தில் கொண்டு வர எனக்கு உம் பலத்தையும் ஞானத்தையும் தாரும். ஆமென்.

Who JESUS is!

READ: Leviticus 25-27; Psalm 58; Mark 1:21-45

SCRIPTURE: Mark 1:23 Just then a man in their synagogue who was possessed by an impure spirit cried out, 24 “What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!”
25 “Be quiet!” said Jesus sternly. “Come out of him!” 26 The impure spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek....
32 That evening after sunset the people brought to Jesus all the sick and demon-possessed. 33 The whole town gathered at the door, 34 and Jesus healed many who had various diseases. He also drove out many demons, but he would not let the demons speak because they knew who he was.

OBSERVATION: In Mark 1, we see Jesus' healing power and his authority over the demons. Here we read that Jesus did not allow the evil spirits and demons to testify who he was. Some Christians allow evil spirits to talk, because they think that evil spirits' words would help the people to understand the power in the name of Jesus. If an evil spirit or a demon speaks good of God and his people, it will never be intended  for a good cause, but to mislead the hearers. What the  impure spirit spoke of Jesus was very true, but Jesus never likes to hear a testimony of  an evil spirit. Although the Jewish people did not know the purpose of Jesus' incarnation, those devils surely understood it and feared of it's consequences. Jesus did not allow the evil spirits to disrupt God's divine plan to save his people through his messianic mission. Neither he did not allow the demons to have any power over the people. So Jesus drove them out without giving any opportunity to speak. However, when people spoke in amazement of his works and words, Jesus did not stop them.

 APPLICATION:  Jesus can heal all or any sicknesses. He is the great physician! He knows what exactly I need and treats me accordingly. Moreover, I should not give any opportunity to evil spirits to speak anything. I must know that Jesus wants his people to be free and to be delivered from the demons. When I bring Jesus in the life of people who are sick and afflicted by evil spirits, they will experience deliverance. Then, the world will know who JESUS is. I must speak of Jesus and do what he wants me to do to save his people.

PRAYER: Jesus, thank you that you saved me to experience God in my life everyday. You have power to heal people and to drive out demons. You are able to touch the lives of people even today. Give your strength and wisdom to bring people to you in order that the people also may experience the joy of deliverance in their life and know that who Jesus really is. Amen.

அல்தஷ்கேத் - அழித்துப் போடாதிரும்

வாசிக்க: லேவியராகமம் 23, 24; சங்கீதம் 57; மாற்கு 1:1-20

வேதவசனம்: சங்கீதம் 57: (தான் கெட்டுப்போகாதபடிக்கு அல்தஷ்கேத் என்னும் வாத்தியத்தில் வாசிக்கத் தாவீது பாடி இராகத்தலைவனுக்கு ஒப்புவித்த மிக்தாம் என்னும் சங்கீதம்) 1. எனக்கு இரங்கும், தேவனே, எனக்கு இரங்கும்; உம்மை என் ஆத்துமா அண்டிக்கொள்ளுகிறது; விக்கினங்கள் கடந்துபோகுமட்டும் உமது செட்டைகளின் நிழலிலே வந்து அடைவேன்.

கவனித்தல்: சங்கீதம் 57 க்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிற தலைப்பு இன்று நம் கவனத்தைப் பெறுகிறது. இந்த சங்கீதமானது “அல்தஷ்கேத்” எனும் எபிரேய மொழிப் பாடலின் இராகத்தில் பாட எழுதப்பட்டது ஆகும். “அல்தஷ்கேத்” என்றால் எபிரேய மொழியில் “அழித்து விடாதே” என்று அர்த்தம். சங்கீத புத்தகத்தில் நான்கு சங்கீதங்களின் தலைப்பில் “அல்தஷ்கேத்” என்ற வார்த்தையும் (சங்.57-59, 75), ஆறு சங்கீதங்களின் தலைப்பில் மிக்தாம் என்ற வார்த்தையும் (சங்.16, 56-60) வருகிறது. மிக்தாம் என்ற வார்த்தையின் பொருள் இன்னதென்று இன்னமும் கண்டறியப்படவில்லை. ஆயினும், இச்சங்கீதங்களில் பெரும்பாலானவை, தாவீது தன் எதிரிகளிடம் இருந்து பிரச்சனைகளை சந்தித்த நேரங்களில் எழுதப்பட்டவை. சங்கீதக்காரன் தன் பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் விடுதலைக்காக எவ்வளவு தீவிரமாக தேவனை நாடி, அவருடைய உதவியைக் கேட்கிறார் என்பதை இச்சங்கீதங்கள் வெளிப்படுத்துகிறது.

இந்த சங்கீதம் எழுதப்பட்ட சூழலைக் கவனிக்கும்போது, இஸ்ரவேலரில் வலிமையில் சிறந்த 3000 வீரர்களுடன் தாவீதையும் அவனுடன் கூட இருந்த மனிதர்களையும் முற்றுகையிட்டு, கொல்ல சவுல் சென்றதை நாம் அறிந்து கொள்கிறோம் (1 சாமுவேல் 24:2). உதவி வேண்டி, தாவீது தேவனை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுகிறார். தேவனைத் துதிக்க தன் இருதயத்தை ஆயத்தப்படுத்துகிறார். அவருடைய எதிரிகள் சிங்கங்களைப் போலவும், கொடிய காட்டு மிருகங்களைப் போலவும் ஆபத்தானவர்களாக இருந்தார்கள் என்பது உண்மைதான். எனினும், தேவனுடைய அன்பும், அவருடைய உண்மையும் ஒப்பிட முடியாதவை, விவரிக்க இயலாதவை என்பதில் தாவீது உறுதியாக இருந்தார். ஆகவேதான் அவரால் “அழித்து விடாதிரும் - அல்தஷ்கேத்” எனும் பாடலை பாட முடிந்தது. முடிவில், தாவீதும் அவனுடன் இருந்தவர்களும் ஒளிந்திருந்த அதே குகைக்கு எந்த ஆயுதங்களும் இன்றி சவுல் செல்வதை நாம் வேதத்தில் வாசிக்கிறோம். அப்பொழுது, தாவீதுதான் சவுலைக் கொல்லாமல் பிழைத்துப் போக விடுகிறார். தாங்கமுடியாத பிரச்சனைகளை எதிர்கொள்ளும் போதும், சமாளிக்கமுடியாத எதிரிகளை எதிர்கொள்ள நேரிடும்போது, தேவனுடைய அன்பின் மற்றும் நம்மை விடுவிக்க அவருக்கு உள்ள வல்லமையை மீது உள்ள நம்பிக்கையில் நாமும் கூட இது போன்ற ஒரு பாடலைப் பாடமுடியும்.

பயன்பாடு: என் வாழ்க்கையில் சூழ்நிலைகள் மற்றும் போராட்டங்கள் என்னதான் இருந்தாலும், நான் துதிப்பாடல்களையும், நம்பிக்கையின் பாடல்கலையும் நான் எக்காலத்திலும் பாட முடியும். நான் பெரிய மலைகளை எதிர்கொள்ளும் தருணங்களில், “விக்கினங்கள் கடந்துபோகுமட்டும்” தஞ்சமடையும்படி ஒரு குகையை நான் கண்டடையலாம். சர்வ வல்லமையுள்ள தேவனுடைய நிழலின் கீழ், அவருடைய அனுமதியின்றி எவரும் தேவனுடைய பிள்ளையை தொடக் கூட முடியாது. என் எதிரிகள் என் “கால்களுக்குக் கண்ணியையும்” எனக்கு முன்பாக “குழியையும்” தோண்டும்போது, நான் தேவன் மீது என் கண்களை பதியவைத்து, அவரைத் துதிக்க என் இதயத்தை ஆயத்தப்படுத்த வேண்டும். அவருடைய அன்பு அளவற்றது, அவருடைய உண்மை, சத்தியம் மேகமண்டலங்கள் பரியந்தம் எட்டுகிறது. இதைவிட அதிகமாக வேறென்ன எனக்கு வேண்டும்!

ஜெபம்: தந்தையாகிய தெய்வமே, என் பிரச்சனைகளில் இருந்தும், என் எதிரிகளிடம் இருந்தும், மற்றும் என் வாழ்க்கையின் கஷ்டங்களில் இருந்தும் என்னைப் பாதுகாக்கும் புகலிடமாக நீர் இருப்பதற்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. உம் அன்பையும் வல்லமையும் வெளிக்காட்டும் உம் உதவியை நீர் உண்மையுடன் தொடர்ந்து எனக்கு அனுப்பிக் கொண்டிருப்பதற்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. உம்மை எக்காலத்திலும் அன்புடன் தேடவும், உமக்கு உண்மையுள்ளவனா(ளா)க வாழவும் எனக்கு உதவும். ஆமென்.

Altaschith - Do Not Destroy

 READ: Leviticus 23, 24; Psalm 57; Mark 1:1-20

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 57:1 (For the director of music. To the tune of “Do Not Destroy.” Of David. A miktam. When he had fled from Saul into the cave.)  Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.

OBSERVATION: The title of Psalm 57 gets our attention today. This is a Psalm set to the tune of "Do Not Destroy" (altaschith  in Hebrew). In the book of  psalms,  four Psalms (Ps. 57,58,59, and 75) have the word altaschith, and six Psalms  (Ps.16, 56-60) have the word miktam in their title. The actual meaning of the word miktam is not yet known. However,  most of these psalms were written when David faced struggles from his enemies. These psalms reflect that how desperately the psalmist sought God and asked his  help, for a protection and  deliverance . As we read the context of this Psalm, we know that Saul pursued David and his men with 3000 choicest Israelite men to besiege and to kill him (1 Sam.24:2). 

David cried out to God for help and prepared his heart to praise God. Of course, his enemies were dangerous like lions and wild beasts. However, he was confident that God's love and faithfulness are incomparable and indescribable. So, he was able to sing a song to the tune of "Do Not Destroy." In the end, as we read, without any arms Saul went to the very cave where David was hiding with his men. Then it was David who spared the life of Saul. We too can sing a song like this, when we face unbearable problems and enemies, with  a confidence in God's love and his ability to deliver us.

 APPLICATION: Irrespective of the situations and trials of my life, I can always sing songs of praise, songs of hope. When I face the mountains, I can find a cave to take refuge, "until the disaster has passed." Under the shadow of the almighty God, without his permission, no one could ever touch a child of God. When my enemies "spread a net" and "dug a pit" for me, I should fix my eyes on God, and must prepare my heart to praise him. His love is great, his faithfulness reaches skies. what more do I need!

PRAYER: Father God, thank you for being my hiding place to protect me from my enemies, problems and the difficulties of my life. Thank you for faithfully sending your help that shows your love and power. Help me to seek you always with love and be faithful to you. Amen.

சீடராக இருங்கள், சீடர்களை உருவாக்குங்கள்

 வாசிக்க: லேவியராகமம் 21, 22; சங்கீதம் 56; மத்தேயு 28:11-20

வேதவசனம்: மத்தேயு 28: 8. அப்பொழுது இயேசு சமீபத்தில் வந்து, அவர்களை (சீடர்களை) நோக்கி: வானத்திலும் பூமியிலும் சகல அதிகாரமும் எனக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. 19. ஆகையால், நீங்கள் புறப்பட்டுப்போய், சகல ஜாதிகளையும் சீஷராக்கி, பிதா குமாரன் பரிசுத்த ஆவியின் நாமத்திலே அவர்களுக்கு ஞானஸ்நானங்கொடுத்து, 20. நான் உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட யாவையும் அவர்கள் கைக்கொள்ளும்படி அவர்களுக்கு உபதேசம் பண்ணுங்கள்; இதோ, உலகத்தின் முடிவுபரியந்தம் சகல நாட்களிலும் நான் உங்களுடனேகூட இருக்கிறேன் என்றார். ஆமென்.

கவனித்தல்: மத்தேயு நற்செய்தி நூலில் உள்ள இயேசுவின் இறுதி வார்த்தைகள் அவர் தன் சீடர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்த “மாபெரும் கட்டளை” (The Great Commission) என்று சொல்லப்படுகிறது. இயேசுவின் இந்த மாபெரும் கட்டளை குறித்த பல கிறிஸ்தவர்களின் புரிதலானது மிகவும் தெளிவற்றதாக இருக்கிறது அல்லது அதன் உட்பொருளை அவர்கள் முழுவதுமாக புரிந்து கொள்ள வில்லை என்பது மிகவும் வருந்தத்தக்கது ஆகும். மாபெரும் கட்டளை என்றால் செய்து முடிக்கக் கூடிய எளிதான காரியம் அல்ல, மிகவும் கடினமான ஒரு வேலை என சிலர் நினைக்கின்றனர். முதலாவதாக, நாம் மத சம்பந்தமான சடங்குகளையோ அல்லது மதச் சட்டங்களையோ பின்பற்றும்படி அழைக்கப்படவில்லை. மாறாக, நாம் இயேசுவின் சீடராக இருக்கும்படி அவர் நம்மை அழைக்கிறார். ஒரு உண்மையான சீடர் தன் குருவை அல்லது ஆசிரியரை தன்னால் இயன்ற மட்டும் எல்லா விதத்திலும் பின்பற்ற முயற்சி செய்வார். இயேசுவின் சீடரானவர் சீடர்களை உருவாக்குகிறவராக இருக்க வேண்டும். இயேசுவின்  “போ” என்ற கட்டளையானது,  ஒரு வசதியான இடத்தைக் கண்டுபிடித்து, அங்கேயே போய் நிரந்தரமாக இருப்பதைக் குறிக்கவில்லை. அது புறப்பட்டுச் சென்று, சீடர்களை உருவாக்கவும், அவர்களுக்கு ஞானஸ்நானம் கொடுக்கவும், மற்றும் இயேசுவின் வார்த்தைகளுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிய கற்றுக் கொடுப்பதற்குமான ஒரு அழைப்பு ஆகும். இங்கே கொடுக்கப்பட்ட வரிசையைக் கவனித்துப் பாருங்கள். இதை நான் எப்படி செய்து முடிக்க முடியும் என ஒருவர் நினைக்கக் கூடும். இயேசு இந்த உலகத்தின் முடிவு பரியந்தமும் நம்முடனே எப்பொழுதும் கூட இருப்பதாக வாக்குப்பண்ணி, உறுதி அளித்திருக்கிறார். வானத்திலும், பூமியிலும் சகல அதிகாரமும் அவருக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருகிறது. அவர் நம்முடன் இருந்து, நம் வாழ்நாளில் அவருடைய மாபெரும் கட்டளையை நாம் செய்ய நமக்குப் பெலனளிக்கிறார். 

பயன்பாடு:  சீடர்களை உருவாக்குபவராக இருப்பதற்கான முக்கியமான ஒரு தகுதி என்னவெனில், இயேசுவின் சீடராக இருப்பது ஆகும். சீடர்களை உருவாக்குபவர் என்ற பதம் ஒரு அலுவலகப் பணியையோ அல்லது நிறுவனப் பொறுப்பையோ குறிக்கும் ஒரு வார்த்தை அல்ல. அது இயேசுவைப் பின்பற்றுவதற்காக ஒருவரின் வாழ்நாள் அர்ப்பணிப்பையும், மற்றவர்களை உருவாக்குவதில் உள்ள அர்ப்பணிப்பையும் குறிப்பது ஆகும். உண்மையான ஒரு சீடரின் பொறுப்பு என்னவெனில், தன் குருவின் போதனைகளை எல்லாரும் அறியச் செய்வது ஆகும். இயேசு என்னோடு இருக்கிறபடியால், நான் புறப்பட்டுச் சென்று, அவர் எனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டிருக்கிற அனைத்தையும் என்னால் செய்து முடிக்க முடியும்.

ஜெபம்: இயேசுவே, “நான் உங்களுடனேகூட இருக்கிறேன்” என்ற உம் வாக்குத்தத்ததிற்காக நன்றி. நான் எங்கு வாழ்ந்தாலும், எங்கு சென்றாலும் உம் பிரசன்னத்தை நான் உணர்ந்து கொள்ள முடியும்.  மாபெரும் கட்டளையில் உள்ள சவால்களை நான் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிராமல், உம் வாக்குத்தத்ததை உறுதியாக நம்பவும், என் பொறுப்பை நிறைவேற்றவும் எனக்கு உதவும். ஆமென்.

Be a Disciple and a Disciple-maker

READ: Leviticus 21, 22; Psalm 56; Matthew 28:11-20

SCRIPTURE: Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them (his disciples) and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

OBSERVATION: Jesus' last words in the Gospel of Matthew is known as "The Great Commission"  that Jesus gave to his disciples. Sadly, many Christians' knowledge about the great commission of Jesus is vague or they do not fully understand its implication. Some people think that the great commission means something that is not an easy task and difficult to do it. First of all, we are not called to follow a set of religious rules and customs. Rather, Jesus calls us to follow him to be his disciple. A true disciple would follow his/her master in every possible way. A disciple of Jesus should be a disciple-maker. Jesus' command to go is not to settle somewhere or to find a comfortable position. It is a call to go out and make disciples, baptize them, and teaching them to obey. Notice the given sequence here. One may think that how is it possible for me to fulfill this. Christ assures and promises of his presence to be with us always, "to the very end of the age." He has all authority in heaven and on earth. He is with us and empowers us to carry out his great commission during our life time.

 APPLICATION: An important pre-requisite to be a disciple-maker is to be a disciple of Jesus. The term disciple-maker does not refer a position or a job in any organization.  It is a life time commitment to follow Jesus and to invest in the life of others. The responsibility of a true disciple is to make his/her master and his teachings known to all people. Since Jesus is with me, I can go and do everything that he has commanded to me. 

PRAYER: Jesus, thank you for your promise, "I am with you always." I can always experience your presence wherever I live and go.  Instead of looking at the challenges of the great commission, help me to have confident of your promise and to carry out my responsibility. Amen.

வேதவசனம்: லேவியராகமம் 20: 23. நான் உங்களுக்கு முன்பாகத் துரத்திவிடுகிற ஜனத்தினுடைய வழிபாடுகளில் நடவாதிருங்கள்; அவர்கள் இப்படிப்பட்ட காரியங்களையெல்லாம் செய்தபடியால் நான் அவர்களை அரோசித்தேன்...26. கர்த்தராகிய நான் பரிசுத்தராயிருக்கிறபடியினாலே நீங்களும் எனக்கேற்ற பரிசுத்தவான்களாயிருப்பீர்களாக; நீங்கள் என்னுடையவர்களாயிருக்கும்படிக்கு, உங்களை மற்ற ஜனங்களை விட்டுப் பிரித்தெடுத்தேன்.

கவனித்தல்: லேவியராகமம் புத்தகத்தில் உள்ள இன்றைய வேத வாசிப்புப் பகுதியில், இப்படியெல்லாம் செய்ய, சொல்ல வேண்டாம் என்று சொல்லும் பல சொற்றொடர்களையும், தேவனுடைய வார்த்தைகளின்படி நடக்காமல் போனால் கொடுக்கப்படவேண்டிய தண்டனைகளைப் பற்றியும் நாம் வாசிக்கிறோம். இவ்வசனங்கள் நேரடியாகவும், மறைமுகமாகவும் பத்து கற்பனைகளைக் குறிக்கிறதாக இருப்பதைக் காண்கிறோம். தேவனுடைய ஜனங்களின் பரிசுத்தத்தைப் பற்றிய அவருடைய எதிர்பார்ப்பு பற்றிச் சொல்லும்போது, உலகப் பழக்க வழக்கங்களின் படி அவர்கள் வாழக் கூடாது என தேவன் அவர்களை எச்சரிக்கிறார். மாறாக, அவர்கள் ஒருவருக்கொருவர் அன்பு காட்டுபவர்களாக இருக்கவும், தேவன் உண்டுபண்ணின ஒழுங்கை விட்டு பிறழாத ஒரு வாழ்க்கையை வாழ வேண்டும் என அவர் விரும்புகிறார். தேவன் அருவருப்பானதாகக் கருதுகிற பாலியல் மற்றும் நல்லொழுக்கம் சார்ந்த சீர்கேடான பழக்க வழக்கங்கள் பற்றிய ஒரு பட்டியலை நாம்  இங்கு காண்கிறோம். கானானிய தேசங்கள் இந்தச் சீர்கேடானப் பழக்கவழக்கங்களை எவ்வித வெட்கமுமின்றி தங்களுக்குள்ளே நடைமுறையில் அல்லது புழக்கத்தில் வைத்திருந்தனர். ஆதலால் தேவன் அவர்களை வெறுத்தார். தேவ ஜனங்கள் தனக்கு ஏற்ற பரிசுத்தமுள்ளவர்களாக இருக்க வேண்டும் என தேவன் எதிர்பார்க்கிறார்.   இங்கே, பரிசுத்தத்தைக் குறித்த எதிர்பார்ப்பு உலகின் பழக்கவழக்கங்களின்படி வாழ்வதைக் குறிக்கவில்லை, மாறாக தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையின்படி வாழ்வதைக் குறிக்கிறது.

பயன்பாடு:    உலகின் பல்வேறு பகுதிகளில் வெவ்வேறு பழக்கவழக்கங்களைக் காண்கிறோம். ஒரு இடத்தில் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளக்கூடிய ஒரு விஷயம் மற்ற இடங்களில் தடைசெய்யப்பட்டதாக இருக்கிறது. சட்டங்களும் சமூக பழக்கவழக்கங்களும் நாடுகளுக்கு நாடுகளுக்கு வேறுபடுகின்றன. பொதுவாக, பல தத்துவங்களின், கருத்துக்களின் எழுச்சி மற்றும் அவற்றை ஆதரிக்கும் கோஷங்கள் காரணமாக உலகம் முழுவதும் ஒழுக்க நடைமுறை மற்றும் நெறிமுறைகளில் ஒரு வீழ்ச்சியைக் காண்கிறோம். எதாகிலும் நவீனத்துவம் மீது யாராவது ஆட்சேபனை எழுப்பினால், அவர்கள் ஒரு அன்னியரைப் போல நடத்தப்படுகிறார்கள். ஆயினும், நான் இந்த உலகில் வாழ்ந்தாலும், வேதாகமம் சொல்வது போல், தேவன் என்னை அவருக்கு  சொந்தமானவனா(ளா)க இருக்கும்படி பிரித்தெடுத்திருக்கிறார். ஆகவே, தேவனுடைய வார்த்தைக்கு எதிரான எந்த உலக பழக்கவழக்கங்களையும் நான் ஆதரிக்கவோ பின்பற்றவோ கூடாது.

ஜெபம்:  தந்தையாகிய தெய்வமே,  உமக்குச் சொந்தமான ஜனங்களில் ஒருவராக இருக்கும்படி நீர் என்னைத் தெரிந்து கொண்டதற்காக, பிரித்தெடுத்ததற்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. நான் இந்த உலகத்தில் வாழும் நாளெல்லாம், உம்மையும் உம்முடைய வார்த்தையையும் மற்றவர்களுக்குக் காட்டும்படி பரிசுத்தமானவனா(ளா)க இருக்க எனக்கு உதவும். ஆமென்.

Your Uniqueness - Holy to the LORD

READ: Leviticus 19, 20; Psalm 55; Matthew 28:1-10

SCRIPTURE: Leviticus 20: 23 You must not live according to the customs of the nations I am going to drive out before you. Because they did all these things, I abhorred them...26 You are to be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own.

OBSERVATION: In Today's passage in the book of Leviticus, we read many "Do not" phrases and the punishments for not following God's instructions. They refer the Ten Commandments directly and indirectly. In relation to God's expectation of his people's holiness, God warns them not to live according to the customs of the world. Rather, he wants them to show love to one another and not to deviate from normal life. We see a list of sexual and moral aberrations that God considers as abomination. God abhorred the Canaanite nations because they shamelessly practiced many of these aberrations. The Holy God expects his people to be holy to him. Here, the expectation of holiness does not refer to live according to the customs of the world, but to live according to the word of God.

 APPLICATION: We see different customs in different parts of the world. A thing that is acceptable in one place is forbidden in other places. Laws and social customs are varying to countries to countries. In General, we see a decline in moral and ethical standards across the globe due to the rise of many "-isms",  and slogans that support them. If someone raise objection to any of these "-isms", they are treated like an alien. However, though I live in this world, as the bible says, God  set apart  me  to be his own. So I must not support or follow any of the worldly customs that go  against the word of God. 

PRAYER: Father God, thank you for choosing me to be among the one of your own people. As long as I live in this world, help me to be holy to represent you and your word.   Amen.

எவ்வளவு பெரிய விலை! எவ்வளவு பெரிய இரட்சகர்!

 வாசிக்க: லேவியராகமம் 17, 18; சங்கீதம் 54; மத்தேயு 27:32-66

வேதவசனம்: மத்தேயு 27:46. ஒன்பதாம் மணி நேரத்தில் இயேசு: ஏலீ! ஏலீ! லாமா சபக்தானி, என்று மிகுந்த சத்தமிட்டுக் கூப்பிட்டார்; அதற்கு என் தேவனே! என் தேவனே! ஏன் என்னைக் கைவிட்டீர் என்று அர்த்தமாம். 
47. அங்கே நின்றவர்களில் சிலர் அதைக் கேட்டபொழுது: இவன் எலியாவைக் கூப்பிடுகிறான் என்றார்கள்.

கவனித்தல்: இயேசு சிலுவையில் அறையப்பட்டிருந்தபோது, அவரைச் சுற்றி இருந்தவர்களால் அவருடைய கதறலைப் புரிந்து கொள்ள முடியவில்லை. ஜனங்களும், போர்வீரர்களும் மற்றும் பிரதான ஆசாரியரும் அவரைக் கேலி செய்து பரியாசம் பண்ணி, அவமதித்துக் கொண்டிருந்த நேரத்தில், அவர் எலியாவை உதவிக்காக அழைக்கிறார் என அவர்கள் நினைத்திருக்கக் கூடும். மனித சித்திரவதைகளில் மிகவும் கொடூரமான ஒன்றான சிலுவையில் அறையப்படுதலை இயேசு அனுபவித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தாலும், அவர் சரீர வேதனையால் கதறவில்லை. மாறாக, முழு உலகத்தின் பாவங்களையும் அவர் சுமந்த போது தேவனிடம் இருந்து ஒரு கணம் பிரிந்திருப்பது என்பது மற்ற எதையும் விட மிகவும் வேதனையானதாக அவருக்கு இருந்தது. அதுவே அவரின் கதறலுக்கான காரணம். இயேசுவின் சிலுவை மரணம் மனிதகுல இரட்சிப்புக்கான தீர்க்கதரிசன நிறைவேறுதல் ஆகும். பாவ அடிமைத்தனத்தின் பிடியில் இருந்து அனைவரும் விடுவிக்கப்பட்டு, பிதாவாகிய தேவனுடன் ஒரு நித்திய உறவைப் பெற்று அனுபவிப்பதற்காக, பாவமில்லாத தேவ ஆட்டுக்குட்டியான இயேசுவானவர் பரிபூரண பலியாக தம்மைத்தாமே ஒப்புக் கொடுத்தார். அது அவரால் தாங்கக் கூடாததாக இருந்தாலும், நம்மைப் மரண பயத்தின் அடிமைத்தனத்தில் இருந்து விடுவிக்க அவர் அதை ருசிபார்க்க வேண்டியதாயிருந்தது (எபி.2:14,15).

பயன்பாடு:   தேவன் நம்மை/என்னை எந்தளவுக்கு நேசிக்கிறார் என்பதை இயேசுவின் சிலுவை மரணம் கூறுகிறது. அவர் எனக்காக செலுத்திய விலை என்ன என்பதை கிறிஸ்துவின் சிலுவைமரணம் எனக்கு நினைவுபடுத்துகிறது. என் நித்திய இரட்சிப்பின் ஆதாரம் இயேசுவே! நான் இனி பாவத்திற்கு அடிமை அல்ல,ஏனெனில் கிறிஸ்து என்னை இரட்சித்திருக்கிறார். நான் இனி பயத்திற்கு அடிமை அல்ல, ஏனெனில் நான் தேவனுடைய பிள்ளை. நான் இயேசுவுக்குச் சொந்தமானவன். கிறிஸ்துவின் மூலமாக, அனுதினமும் நான் தேவ அன்பை ருசிபார்க்கவும், மற்றவர்களுக்கு தேவ அன்பைக் காண்பிக்கவும் முடியும்.

ஜெபம்:  தந்தையாகிய தெய்வமே,  என்னை இரட்சிக்க நீர் காண்பித்த உம் அன்புக்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. உம்மைப் போல வேறு எவரும் இல்லை. ஆண்டவரே, நான் என்னை/என் வாழ்க்கையை உம்மிடம் ஒப்படைக்கிறேன். நீர் உம் மகிமைக்காக என்னை பயன்படுத்தியருளும். ஆமென்.

What a Price! What a Savior!

 READ: Leviticus 17, 18; Psalm 54; Matthew 27:32-66

SCRIPTURE: Matthew 27:46 About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).
47 When some of those standing there heard this, they said, “He’s calling Elijah.”

OBSERVATION: When Jesus was on the cross, people around him were not able to understand his cry. They might had thought that he was calling the help of Elijah as he was mocked and insulted by the people, soldiers, and the chief priests. Although Christ went through a cruel form of human torture, he did not cry out of body pain. Rather, a momentary separation from God when he bore the sins of all the world must had been more painful than anything else, and that made him cry. The crucifixion of Jesus was a prophetic fulfillment for the salvation of humanity.  Jesus, the sinless lamb of God willingly gave himself as the perfect sacrifice to make the way for every person to be redeemed from the clutches of the bondage of sin and to enjoy an eternal relationship with God the Father. It was so unbearable for him. But he had to taste it to set us free from the slavery of the fear of death (Heb.2:14,15).

 APPLICATION: Jesus' crucifixion says of how much God loves us/me. The cross of Christ reminds me of the price he paid, and shows the way for my salvation.  Jesus is the source of my eternal salvation. I am no longer a slave to sin, for Christ saved me. I am no longer a slave to fear, for I am a child of God. I belong to Jesus. Through Christ, every day I can experience God's love and show to others.

PRAYER: Father God, thank you for your love to save us. There is none like you.  Lord, I offer my life to you, use it for your glory. Amen.

இறைவன் எங்கில்லை!

வாசிக்க: லேவியராகமம் 15, 16; சங்கீதம் 53; மத்தேயு 27:1-31

வேதவசனம்: சங்கீதம் 53:1. தேவன் இல்லை என்று மதிகேடன் தன் இருதயத்தில் சொல்லிக்கொள்ளுகிறான்; அவர்கள் தங்களைக் கெடுத்து, அருவருப்பான அக்கிரமங்களைச் செய்துவருகிறார்கள்; நன்மைசெய்கிறவன் ஒருவனும் இல்லை. 2. தேவனைத் தேடுகிற உணர்வுள்ளவன் உண்டோ என்று பார்க்க, தேவன் பரலோகத்திலிருந்து மனுபுத்திரரைக் கண்ணோக்கினார்.

கவனித்தல்:  கடவுளை நம்பும் ஆத்திகருக்கும், கடவுளை நம்பாத நாத்திகருக்கும் உள்ள வித்தியாசமானது, அவர்கள் காரியங்கள்/வார்த்தைகள் இடையே காணப்படும் இடைவெளியை எப்படி புரிந்து கொள்கிறார்கள் என்பதின் அடிப்படையிலேயே பெரும்பாலும் அமைகிறது. கடவுளை நம்புகிறவர், புரிந்து கொள்ள முடியாத இடைவெளியில் இறைவனைக் காண்கிறார். கடவுளை நம்பாதவர் இறைவனைக் காண மறுக்கிறார். உதாரணமாக, இன்றைய தியான தலைப்பை நீங்கள் எப்படி வாசித்துப் புரிந்துகொள்கிறீர்கள் என்பதைப் பொறுத்து அது ஒன்றுக்கொன்று முரணான இரண்டு வித்தியாசமான வாக்கியங்களைத் தரும்: கடவுளை நம்புகிறவர், “இறைவன் எங்குதான் இல்லை” என்றும்; கடவுளை நம்பாதவர் “இறைவன் எங்கும் இல்லை” என்றும் வாசிப்பார். ஒருவரின் இறை நம்பிக்கையானது அவர் கடவுளைப் பற்றி என்ன நினைக்கிறார் என்பதுடன் தொடர்புடையதாக இருக்கிறது. ஒருவரின் செயல்பாடுகள் அவருடைய கடவுள் நம்பிக்கையை வெளிப்படுத்துவதாக இருக்கும். கடவுள் இல்லை என எவரேனும் நினைத்தால் அல்லது சொல்வார் எனில், வேத வசனம் சொல்வது போல, அவர் ஒரு மதிகேடர். நாம் வாசிக்கிறபடி, 53 ஆம் சங்கீதமானது அப்படியே சங்கீதம் 14 ன் பிரதியாக சிலச் சிறிய மாற்றங்களுடன் திரும்பவும் வருகிறதைப் பார்க்கிறோம். இப்படியாக திரும்பத் திரும்ப வருதல் இந்த இரு சங்கீதங்கள் சொல்லும் செய்தியின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை உணர்த்துவதாக இருக்கிறது. தேவன் மனிதர்களைப் பார்க்கும்போது,  பாரபட்சமின்றி, பட்சபாதமின்றி அனைவரையும் பார்க்கிறார். தேவன் இந்த உலகத்தைப் பார்க்கும்போது, அவரைப் புரிந்துகொண்டு அவரைத் தேடுபவர்களை கண்ணோக்குகிறார். 

பயன்பாடு:   சில நேரங்களில்,  தாங்கள் நம்புகிறதற்கு சம்பந்தமில்லாத அல்லது முரணான ஒன்றை கட்டாயத்தின் நிமித்தம் செய்பவர்களை நாம் பார்க்கிறோம். ஆயினும், கடவுளைப் பொறுத்தவரையில், எனது நம்பிக்கையும் என் செயல்களும் ஒரு இரயில்வே பாதையில் உள்ள இரண்டு இணையான தண்டவாளங்கள் போன்றவை. இது வெவ்வேறு திசைகளில் செல்ல (பயணம் செய்ய) முடியாது. தேவன் என்னை மேலிருந்து கவனிக்கிறார் என்ற உணர்வுடன் நான் வாழ வேண்டும்.

GODISNOWHERE

READ: Leviticus 15, 16; Psalm 53; Matthew 27:1-31

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 53: 1 The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good. 2 God looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.

OBSERVATION: The difference between a theist and an atheist is largely based on  how he or she reads the space between the words/things. For example, how you read today's title would give two different statements which are opposite to each other: A theist would read "God is now here";  an atheist would read "God is nowhere."   A person's belief in God is connected to what he or she thinks about God in his/her heart.  A person's actions would reflect what s/he believes about God. When someone says or thinks that there is no God, as the scripture says, he or she is a fool. As we observe, Psalm 53 is a replication of Psalm 14 with some minor changes. This repetition conveys the importance of the message of these two Psalms. God never looks selectively or biased when he sees all of humanity. When  God sees the world, he notices those who understand and seek him. 

 APPLICATION: Sometimes, There are people who believe something in their heart, but do something else that contradicts their belief, due to compulsion. However, concerning God, my belief and actions are like the two tracks of a railway track. It cannot go in different directions. I should live with a sense that God watches over me.  

PRAYER: Father God, thank you for giving me a heart to trust and to believe you. Since you are seeing me from above, I am under your protection. My God, help me to understand you and to live accordingly, and to seek you first than anything else.  Amen.

விழித்தெழ ஒரு அழைப்பு

 வாசிக்க: லேவியராகமம் 13, 14; சங்கீதம் 52; மத்தேயு 26:36-75

வேதவசனம்: மத்தேயு 26: 69. அத்தருணத்தில் பேதுரு வெளியே வந்து அரமனை முற்றத்தில் உட்கார்ந்திருந்தான். அப்பொழுது, வேலைக்காரி ஒருத்தி அவனிடத்தில் வந்து: நீயும் கலிலேயனாகிய இயேசுவோடே கூட இருந்தாய் என்றாள். 70. அதற்கு அவன்: நீ சொல்லுகிறது எனக்குத் தெரியாது என்று எல்லாருக்கும் முன்பாக மறுதலித்தான்...72. அவனோ: அந்த மனுஷனை நான் அறியேன் என்று ஆணையிட்டு, மறுபடியும் மறுதலித்தான்...74. அப்பொழுது அவன்: அந்த மனுஷனை அறியேன் என்று சொல்லி, சபிக்கவும் சத்தியம்பண்ணவும் தொடங்கினான். உடனே சேவல் கூவிற்று. 75. அப்பொழுது பேதுரு... இயேசு தன்னிடத்தில் சொன்ன வசனத்தை நினைத்துகொண்டு, வெளியே போய், மனங்கசந்து அழுதான்.

கவனித்தல்:  இயேசுவை அறியேன் என்று பேதுரு மறுதலித்ததைப் பற்றி நாம் வாசிக்கும்போது,  “நான் உம்மோடே மரிக்கவேண்டியதாயிருந்தாலும் உம்மை மறுதலிக்கமாட்டேன்” என்று உறுதியாக அறிக்கை செய்த ஒருவர் இயேசுவை எப்படி முற்றிலும் தெரியாது என்று மறுதலிக்க முடியும் என நாம் ஆச்சரியமடைகிறோம். பேதுரு இயேசுவை மறுதலித்தது, யூதாஸ் இயேசுவைக் காட்டிக் கொடுத்ததை விட மோசமான ஒரு செயல்  என்று சிலர் கருதுகின்றனர். பேதுரு அங்கு முற்றத்தில் அமர்ந்திருந்த போது, படிப்படியாக இயேசுவை எப்படி மறுதலித்தார் என நாம் வாசிக்கிறோம். இயேசுவுக்கு என்ன நடக்கும் என்பதைப் பார்க்க அவர் அங்கே போய் இருந்தார். ஆலோசனைச் சங்கத்தில் இயேசுவுக்கு எதிராகப் பொய் சாட்சி சொல்லும்படி பலர் முன்வந்து, இயேசு முன்பு சொன்னவைகளை திரித்து மாற்றி அதை அவருக்கெதிரான சாட்சியமாகக் கூறினர்.  தனக்குத்தானே எதிராக, தன் மனச்சாட்சிக்கு எதிராக பொய் சொன்ன ஒரு நபரை நாம் இங்கு காண்கிறோம்.  இயேசுவைக் கொல்ல வேண்டும் என்ற சங்கத்தின் முடிவை அறிந்த பின், இயேசுவின் சீடராக இருப்பதினால் வரும் தண்டனையைக் குறித்து பேதுரு பயந்திருக்கக் கூடும். ஆயினும், ஒரு சேவல் அவனுக்கு ஒரு விழித்தெழுதலின் அழைப்பைக் கொடுத்தது. அவன் இயேசுவையும் அவர் சொன்ன வார்த்தைகளையும் நினைவுகூர்ந்தான். அதன் பின்பு அவன் அந்த இடத்தில் இருக்கவில்லை. மாறாக, இயேசுவை மறுதலித்த தன் துக்கமான செயலை நினைத்து மனம் திரும்பி, மனங்கசந்து அழுதான். பேதுருவின் இந்த மனந்திரும்புதலின் கண்ணீரைக் குறித்து ஸ்பர்ஜன் சொல்லும்போது, "உண்மையான மனம் திரும்புதல் என்பது எப்பொழுதுமே இறைவனின் பரிசு/ஈவு ஆக இருக்கிறது. அது ஆத்துமாவில் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் உண்டாக்கும்  செயல்” என்கிறார். 

பயன்பாடு:  என் வார்த்தைகள், செயல்கள் மற்றும் சிந்தனைகளில் நான் இயேசுவை எப்பொழுதாவது மறுதலித்திருக்கிறேனா என நான் சிந்தித்துப் பார்க்கிறேன். ஞாயிறு ஆராதனைகளிலும், பாடல்களிலும் நான் கர்த்தருக்கு உண்மையாக இருப்பது அர்ப்பணிப்பு பற்றி பாடுவது எளிதானதாக இருக்கலாம். என் வாழ்க்கை முழுவதும் நான் தேவனுக்கு உண்மையாக இருப்பேன் என்றுகூட நான் பாடலாம். ஆயினும், சோதனையான நேரங்களில், சோதனைகள் கண்முன் இருக்கையில், மற்றும் முற்றிலும் எதிர்ப்பு நிலவுகிற சூழ்நிலைகளில், நான் என்ன செய்கிறேன் என்பது நான் பேசும் வார்த்தைகளை விட மிகவும் சத்தமாக தொனிக்கக் கூடியவை ஆகும். பேதுருவின் மனந்திரும்புதல் அவன் திரும்ப வருவதற்கும், அவன் அழைக்கப்பட்ட நோக்கத்திற்காக தன் வாழ்க்கையை அர்ப்பணிக்கவும் அவனுக்கு உதவியது. சில நேரங்களில், நான் என் நம்பிக்கை மற்றும் மனச்சாட்சிக்கு எதிராக பேசவேண்டிய சூழ்நிலைகள் எனக்கு வரலாம். அச்சமயங்களில், ஆண்டவரை மறுதலிப்பதற்குப் பதிலாக, அச்சோதனைகளுக்கு நான் எந்த வாய்ப்பையும் தரக் கூடாது. நான் இயேசுவின் உதவியை நாடவேண்டும்.

A wake-up call

 READ: Leviticus 13, 14; Psalm 52; Matthew 26:36-75

SCRIPTURE: Matthew 26: 69 Now Peter was sitting out in the courtyard, and a servant girl came to him. “You also were with Jesus of Galilee,” she said. 70 But he denied it before them all. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said...” 72 He denied it again, with an oath: “I don’t know the man!”...74 Then he began to call down curses, and he swore to them, “I don’t know the man!” Immediately a rooster crowed. 75 Then Peter remembered the word... And he went outside and wept bitterly.

OBSERVATION: When we read the denial of Peter, we wonder how come a person who boldly declared that " “Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you” could completely deny Jesus. Some think that Peter's denial was worse than the betrayal of Judas. We read that when Peter was sitting at the courtyard, how he denied Jesus  progressively. He was there to see what would happen to Jesus. There were many false witnesses who came forward in front of the Sanhedrin and said many things against Jesus and distorted or misrepresented what Jesus spoke earlier. Here, we see a false witness who spoke against himself and his own conscience. After knowing the plan of Sanhedrin to kill Jesus, Peter might have been afraid about a punishment for being a disciple of Jesus. However, a rooster gave him a wake up call and he remembered Jesus and his words. He no longer sat in that place, but he wept bitterly as he was repenting from his grievous act of denying Jesus. Concerning this tears of repentance, Spurgeon says, "True repentance is always the gift of God, and the work of the Holy Spirit in the soul."

 APPLICATION: Did I ever have disown Jesus through my words, actions, and in my thoughts? During Sunday worships and in songs, it may be easy to sing of my commitment and dedication to the Lord. I may even sing that I will live faithfully for the Lord God throughout my life. However, in testing times, during temptations, and when I face opposing environments, what I do will speak louder than my words. Peter's repentance helped him to have a come back and to dedicate his life for the cause he was called for. At times, I may have to face situations like this to speak against my beliefs and conscience. Instead of denying the Lord, I should deny any opportunities to those temptations. I should seek the help of Jesus. 

PRAYER: Father God,  help me to be strong and bold to testify my faith in you at any situation.  Amen.

பரிசுத்தமாக வாழ ஒரு அழைப்பு

வாசிக்க: லேவியராகமம் 11, 12; சங்கீதம் 51; மத்தேயு 26:1-35

வேதவசனம்: லேவியராகமம் 11: 44. நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர், நான் பரிசுத்தர்; ஆகையால்.... பரிசுத்தராயிருப்பீர்களாக. 45. நான் உங்கள் தேவனாயிருக்கும்படி உங்களை எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து வரப்பண்ணின கர்த்தர், நான் பரிசுத்தர்; ஆகையால், நீங்களும் பரிசுத்தராயிருப்பீர்களாக.

கவனித்தல்: லேவியராகமம் புத்தகமானது தேவனுக்கு ஆராதனை செய்தல், தங்களை தீட்டுப்படுத்தாமல் காத்துக் கொள்ளுதல், பலிகளைச் செலுத்துதல் மற்றும் தேவனுடைய பரிசுத்த ஜனங்களாக வாழ இஸ்ரவேலர்களுக்குத் தேவையான சட்டதிட்டங்களும் ஒழுங்குமுறைகளும் நிறைந்த ஒரு கையேடு  ஆகும். தேவன் இஸ்ரவேலர்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து விடுவித்து, தாம் பரிசுத்தராக இருக்கிற படியால், அவர்களும் பரிசுத்தமாக வாழ வேண்டும் என எதிர்பார்த்தார். பரிசுத்தத்திற்காக இந்த அழைப்பு பல விதங்களில் தனித்துவமான ஒன்று ஆகும். தேவன் நாம் அவரைப் போல இருக்க வேண்டும் என விரும்புகிறார்.  “நான் பரிசுத்தர்; ஆகையால், நீங்களும் பரிசுத்தராயிருப்பீர்களாக.” தேவன் நம்மை மற்றவர்களிடம் இருந்து பிரித்து எடுத்துவிட்டார் என்றாலும் கூட, நம்மைச் சுத்திகரிக்க நாம் செய்யவேண்டிய காரியம் ஒன்று இருக்கிறது.  பழைய ஏற்பாட்டுக் காலங்களில்,  அவர்களைத் தீட்டுப்படாமல் காத்துக் கொள்ள சட்டங்கள் இருந்தது. ஆனால், அவை செயல்முறைப்படுத்தப்பட வேண்டும், வாழ்க்கையில் பயன்படுத்தப்படவேண்டும். தாவீது தேவனுக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவஞ்செய்த பின், மன்னிப்பு வேண்டி ஜெபித்தபோது, தேவன் தன்னைக் கழுவி சுத்திகரிக்க வேண்டும் என கெஞ்சுகிறார் (சங்.51:7). தேவனே ஒரு மனிதனை கழுவி சுத்திகரிக்க முடியும் என்பதை அவர் புரிந்து கொண்டிருப்பார். நம் ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்து தம் சரீரத்தை பரிபூரணமான பலியாக  ஒப்புக் கொடுத்து, பாவ மன்னிப்புக்காக தம் இரத்தத்தைச் சிந்தினார். நாம் செய்ய வேண்டியதெல்லாம் என்னவெனில், இயேசுவை ஏற்றுக் கொண்டு, நாம் பரிசுத்தமாக வாழ தேவன் நமக்காக உண்டுபண்ணி வைத்திருக்கிறதை எடுத்துக் கொண்டு வாழ வேண்டும்.  

பயன்பாடு: பரிசுத்த தேவனுக்காக ஒரு பரிசுத்த வாழ்வை வாழ்வது என்பது ஒரு பாக்கியமான/ஆசீர்வாதமான பொறுப்பு ஆகும். இது வாழ்க்கையில் எதையெல்லாம் செய்யவேண்டும், செய்யக் கூடாது என்பதைப் பற்றியது அல்ல. மாறாக, என் வாழ்க்கையின் எல்லாப் பகுதியிலும் தேவனைப் பின்பற்றி வாழ்வது ஆகும். என் பலவீனங்களை அறிந்த தேவன், தம் மகனை எனக்காக இவ்வுலகிற்கு அனுப்பினார். இயேசுவின் மூலமாக, நான் தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமான ஒரு வாழ்வை வாழ முடியும். இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் இரத்தம் சகல பாவங்களில் இருந்தும் என்னைச் சுத்திகரிக்கிறது. நான் பரிசுத்த வாழ்வை வாழத் தடையாக இருக்கிற என் பலவீனங்களையும், இயலாமைகளையும் அறிக்கை செய்து, என்னை மன்னித்து, சுத்திகரிக்க தேவனைத் தேடுகிறேன். எனக்காக அல்ல,  என்னுடைய சொந்த விருப்பங்களின் படி அல்ல, உமக்காக நான் பரிசுத்தமாக வாழவேண்டும்.

ஜெபம்:  தந்தையாகிய தெய்வமே, நான் பரிசுத்தமாக வாழ வேண்டும் என நீர் விரும்புகிறதற்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. என்னைச் சுத்திகரிக்க, இயேசுவின் மூலமாக நீர் உண்டு பண்ணிவைத்திருக்கிற அன்பின் ஏற்பாடுக்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. நான் அதை என் வாழ்க்கையில் எனதாக்கிக் கொள்ளவும், அனுதினமும் பரிசுத்தமாக வாழவும் எனக்கு உதவும்.   தேவனே,  நானும் உம்மைப் போல பரிசுத்தமாக மாற விரும்புகிறேன் ஆமென்.

A Call to Live Holy

READ: Leviticus 11, 12; Psalm 51; Matthew 26:1-35

SCRIPTURE: Leviticus 11: 44. I am the Lord your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy...45. I am the Lord, who brought you up out of Egypt to be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy.

OBSERVATION: The book of Leviticus is a manual of  laws and regulations for the Israelites to worship God, to keep themselves ceremonially clean, to offer sacrifices, and  to live as God's holy people. God brought them out from the Egypt and expected them to live holy, for he is holy. This call to holiness is unique in various ways. God wants us to be like him. "Be holy, because I am holy." Although God has set us apart from others, we need to do something to consecrate ourselves. In the O.T times, there were laws to keep a person ceremonially clean. But, they need to be practiced. When David sinned against God and prayed for forgiveness, he pleaded God to cleanse and to wash him (Ps.51:7). He must have understood that God alone can make a person holy and clean. Our Lord Jesus offered his body as the perfect sacrifice and shed his blood for the forgiveness of sins. All we need to do is to accept Jesus and take God's provisions for us to live holy.

 APPLICATION: It is a privileged responsibility to live a holy life for the holy God. It is not about do's and don'ts of life, but to follow God in every aspect of my life. Knowing my weaknesses, God sent His son Jesus to the world, and through him I can live a life that pleases God. The blood of Jesus purifies me from all sins. I confess my inabilities and weaknesses that hinders to lead a holy life, and seek God to forgive and to purify me. Not for me or not according to my own expectations, but for you oh God I should live a holy life.

PRAYER: Father God, thank you for your desire for us to be holy. Thank you for your loving provision through your son Jesus to purify us. Help me to take it in my life and to live a holy life everyday.  I too want to be like you to be holy.  Amen.

ஸ்தோத்திர பலி - உதடுகளின் கனி

  வாசிக்க: லேவியராகமம் 9, 10; சங்கீதம் 50; மத்தேயு 25:31-46

வேதவசனம்:சங்கீதம் 50: 23. ஸ்தோத்திர பலியிடுகிறவன் என்னை மகிமைப்படுத்துகிறான்; தன் வழியைச் செவ்வைப்படுத்துகிறவனுக்கு தேவனுடைய இரட்சிப்பை வெளிப்படுத்துவேன் என்று சொல்லுகிறார்.

கவனித்தல்: தேவனுடைய ஜனங்கள் தேவனைத் துதித்து, தேவனைச் சார்ந்து வாழ்வதை  ஒப்புக் கொண்டு அவரைப் புகழ வேண்டும் என தேவன் விரும்புகிறார். ஸ்தோத்திர பலியானது தேவனுக்கு நம் நன்றியை தெரிவிக்கும் ஒரு செயலாகும். நாம் பெற்றுக் கொண்ட கிருபைக்காகவும், நாம் பெற்ற விடுதலை, குணமாகுதல், மற்றும் மரணத்திற்கு தப்புவிக்கப்படுதல் என நாம் பெற்றுக் கொண்ட தேவ கிருபைகளுக்காக நம் நன்றியுணர்ச்சியை வெளிப்படுத்தும் ஒரு செயலாக ஸ்தோத்திர பலி இருக்கிறது. சங்கீதம் 50ல் நாம் வாசிப்பது போல, ஸ்தோத்திர பலியானது தேவனை மகிமைப்படுத்துகிறதாகவும், தேவன் தம் இரட்சிப்பை நமக்குக் காண்பிப்பதற்கு வழியை செவ்வைப்பண்ணுகிறது. நாம் தேவனுக்கு ஸ்தோத்திர பலிகளைச் செலுத்தும்போது, பெற்ற ஆசீர்வாதங்களுக்காகவும், பெறப்போகிற ஆசீர்வாதங்களுக்காகவும் நன்றி உணர்வுடன் அதைச் செலுத்த வேண்டும். நாம் தேவனைத் துதித்தல் அல்லது ஸ்தோத்திர பலிகளை ஏறெடுத்தல் என்பது தேவனுடைய நாமத்தைத் துதிக்கும் உதடுகளின் கனி என்றும், நாம் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் மூலமாக அதை எப்போதும் தேவனுக்கு செலுத்த வேண்டும் என எபிரேய நிருப ஆக்கியோன் சொல்கிறார் (எபி.13:15). 

பயன்பாடு: தேவன் என் எல்லா ஜெபத்திற்கும் பதிலளித்து, எல்லா பிரச்சனைகளில் இருந்தும் என்னை விடுவித்து, தம் வழியை எனக்குக் காண்பிக்கிறார். ஆயினும், நான் பெற்ற கிருபைகளையும் ஆசீர்வாதங்களையும் எண்ணிப்பார்க்கும்போது, நான் பெற்றுக் கொண்ட எல்லா காரியத்திற்காகவும் நான் அவருக்கு நன்றி சொல்ல வில்லையே என வருந்துகிறேன். என் ஸ்தோத்திர பலியானது தேவனை மகிமைப்படுத்துகிறது. அவர் சகல துதிக்கும் ஸ்தோத்திரங்களுக்கும் பாத்திரர். என் இரட்சிப்பு மற்றும் விடுதலைக்காக செய்ய வேண்டியவைகளை தேவன் ஏற்கனவே செய்து விட்டார். என்னை வழிநடத்த அவர் எப்பொழுதும் ஆயத்தமாக இருக்கிறார்.  அவர் இல்லாமல் என்னால் ஒன்றும் செய்ய இயலாது என நான் நன்கறிந்திருக்கிறேன். ஆனால், ஒரு நாளில் எத்தனை முறை நான் தேவனைச் சார்ந்திருக்கிறேன் என்பதை என் வாயினால் சொல்கிறேன். என் உதடுகளின் மூலமாக, நான் தொடர்ந்து எப்பொழுதும் ஸ்தோத்திரங்களையும் துதிகளையும் சொல்லி வரும்போது, அது வாழ்க்கையின் பல ஆபத்துகளில் இருந்து என்னைக் காத்துக் கொள்கிறது. ஆயினும், அதை நான் சடங்காக, கடமைக்காகச் செய்யாமல், உண்மையான இருதயத்துடன் நன்றி உணர்வுடன் செய்ய வேண்டும்.

Thank offering - the Fruit of Lips

READ: Leviticus 9, 10; Psalm 50; Matthew 25:31-46

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 50:23  He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me, and he prepares the way so that  I may show him  the salvation of God.

OBSERVATION: God wants his people to praise him and to acknowledge their dependence on God. Thank offering is "an expression of thankfulness" to our  God. Thank offering is an act of gratitude for the grace we received, for the deliverance from our chains, sickness, trouble, and death. .  As we read in Ps.50, our thank offerings honor God and it prepares the way for God to show his salvation to us. When we make our thank offerings, we need to do it with a heart of gratitude for the blessings we received, and for the blessings that we will receive.  The author of Hebrews says that our sacrifice of praise is "the fruit of lips that openly profess his (God's) name" and we should continually do it through Jesus (Heb.13:15).

 APPLICATION: God answers my every prayer, delivers me from all troubles, and shows his way. However, as I count his blessings and mercies, I regret that I did not thank him for every thing I received. My thank offering honors God. He is worthy of all praises and worship. God has done his part to deliver me and is always ready to guide me. I know well that without him I can do nothing. But how many times in a day I acknowledge my dependency of God. When I continually offer thanks and praises through my lips, it keeps me away from many perils of life. However, I must do with a heart of gratitude. I should not do it as a ritual or just for the sake of doing it as a duty.

PRAYER: Father God, thank you for everything you do in my life. Today, I just wanna thank You Lord. Help me to be thankful and to prepare my ways to walk with you always.  Amen.

எல்லா மனிதருக்குமான ஒரு சொல்

 வாசிக்க: லேவியராகமம் 7, 8; சங்கீதம் 49; மத்தேயு 25:1-30

வேதவசனம்:சங்கீதம் 49:16. ஒருவன் ஐசுவரியவானாகி, அவன் வீட்டின் மகிமை பெருகும்போது, நீ பயப்படாதே. 17. அவன் மரிக்கும்போது ஒன்றும் கொண்டுபோவதில்லை; அவன் மகிமை அவனைப் பின்பற்றிச் செல்வதுமில்லை.

கவனித்தல்: தங்கள் ஐசுவரியம் மீது நம்பிக்கை வைக்கிறவர்கள் பற்றிய ஒரு எச்சரிக்கையை சங்கீதம் 49 நமக்குத் தருகிறது. ஒருவர் தன் செல்வத்தை வைத்து எதை விலைகொடுத்து வாங்க முடியாது என்பதையும், செல்வத்தை நம்புகிறவர்களின் முடிவு பற்றியும் சங்கீதக்காரன் விளக்குகிறார். மேலும் சங்.49:16ல் வாசகருக்கான ஒரு அறிவுரை கொடுக்கப்படுகிறது. நாம் வாழ்கிற இந்த உலகத்தில், பணம் தான் பல விஷயங்களைத் தீர்மானிக்கிறது என்று நம்மில் பலரும் கருதுகிறோம். சில விஷயங்களில் அது உண்மையாக இருக்கலாம். ஆனால், பணத்தினால் ஒரு மனிதனை காப்பாற்ற முடியாது என்ற நடைமுறை எச்சரிக்கையை நாம் இங்கு காண்கிறோம். வெறும் பணத்தினால் ஒருவர் இன்னொருவருடைய வாழ்க்கையை மீட்கும் பொருளைக் கொடுக்க முடியாது. ஆனால் தேவன் தன் வாழ்க்கையை மீட்டுக் கொள்வார் என்ற தன் நம்பிக்கையை சங்கீதக்காரன் வெளிப்படுத்துகிறார். உண்மையில், இயேசு அனேகரை மீட்கும்பொருளாக தன் ஜீவனை ஈடாகக் கொடுத்தார். ஆகவே, செல்வத்தின் மீது நம் கண்களை வைக்காமல் அல்லது உலக ஐசுவரியங்களின் மீது நம் நம்பிக்கையை வைக்காமல், தேவன் மீது நம் நம்பிக்கையை வைக்கவேண்டும். இயேசு சொன்னார், “மனுஷன் உலகம் முழுவதையும் ஆதாயப்படுத்திக்கொண்டாலும், தன் ஜீவனை நஷ்டப்படுத்தினால் அவனுக்கு லாபம் என்ன? மனுஷன் தன் ஜீவனுக்கு ஈடாக என்னத்தைக் கொடுப்பான்?” (மத்தேயு 16:26).

பயன்பாடு:   என்னிடம் பணம், ஐசுவரியம் இருக்கிறதா அல்லது இல்லையா என்பது ஒரு பொருட்டல்ல. ஆனால் என் நம்பிக்கையை நான் எங்கு வைத்திருக்கிறேன் என்பது நித்தியம் வரை முக்கியமானதாக இருக்கிறது.என்னிடம் ஐசுவரியம் இருந்தால், அதை ஞானமாகவும் சரியாகவும் பயன்படுத்த எனக்கு சரியான புரிதல் தேவை. என்னிடம் ஐசுவரியம் இல்லை என்றால், அதை வைத்திருப்பவர்களைக் கண்டு நான் பயப்படவோ அல்லது பிரமித்துப் பார்க்கவோ கூடாது. தேவனே என் நம்பிக்கையும் பலனுமாக இருக்கிறார். உலக ஐசுவரியங்கள் எதுவும் ஒரு மனிதனை மீட்க முடியாது.  சங்கீதக்காரன் சொல்வது போல, “ஆனாலும் தேவன் என் ஆத்துமாவைப் பாதாளத்தின் வல்லமைக்குத் தப்புவித்து மீட்பார், அவர் என்னை ஏற்றுக்கொள்வார். (சேலா.)” 

ஜெபம்:  தந்தையாகிய தெய்வமே,இன்று நான் வாசித்த ஞானத்தை போதிக்கும் வார்த்தைகளுக்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. என் மீட்புக்கும் இரட்சிப்புக்கும் சிலுவையில் நீர் செலுத்திய விலைக்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. உம்மீது நாம் எப்போதும் நம்பிக்கை வைக்கவும், பரலோகத்தில் பொக்கிஷங்களைச் சேர்த்து வைக்கவும் எனக்கு உதவும். ஆமென்.

A word for all

 READ: Leviticus 7, 8; Psalm 49; Matthew 25:1-30

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 49:16 Do not be overawed when others grow rich, when the splendor of their houses increases; 17 for they will take nothing with them when they die, their splendor will not descend with them.

OBSERVATION: Psalm 49 gives us an admonition about those who trust their wealth. Here the psalmist explains about what a person cannot buy with his wealth, and the fate of the life of those who trust in wealth. Further, in Ps 49:16, there is an advice for the reader. In the world we live, many of us think that money determines many things. To some extend, it may be true. But here we see a practical warning that money cannot save a person. With mere money nobody can redeem the life of another person. The psalmist expresses his hope that God can redeem his life.  Indeed Jesus gave his life as a ransom for all the people. So we need to put our trust in God, instead of keeping our eyes on wealth or putting our trust on any worldly riches. Jesus rightly said, "What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?" (Matthew 16:26).

 APPLICATION: Whether I have wealth or not is not a matter. But where I put my trust really matters till eternity. If I have wealth, I need proper understanding to use it wisely. If I do not have riches, I should not awe at those who have it. God is my trust and strength. Any of the worldly treasures cannot redeem a person. However, as the psalmist says, "But God will redeem me from the realm of the dead; he will surely take me to himself."

PRAYER: Father God, thank you for the words of wisdom that we read today. Thank you for the price you paid on the cross, for my redemption and salvation. Help me to put my trust in you always and to store treasures in heaven.  Amen.

Keep the Flame Burning

READ: Leviticus 5, 6; Psalm 48; Matthew 24:29-51

SCRIPTURE: Leviticus 6: 8 The Lord said to Moses...‘These are the regulations for the burnt offering: The burnt offering is to remain on the altar hearth throughout the night, till morning, and the fire must be kept burning on the altar. 12 The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning the priest is to add firewood and arrange the burnt offering on the fire and burn the fat of the fellowship offerings on it. 13 The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously; it must not go out.

OBSERVATION: Israelites offered burnt offerings as an act of voluntary worship, to make atonement with God, to express their devotion, commitment and absolute surrender to God. Whatever offered as a burnt offering should be burnt to ashes.   For this, keeping the fire on the altar burning  throughout the day and night is very important. Once the sacrifice is burnt completely, the burnt offering becomes " an aroma pleasing to the Lord." The priest has a day to day responsibility to add firewood and to remove the ashes. The burnt offering is a voluntary sacrifice not a mandatory one. However, when anyone brings it to the Lord there are regulations to offer it as "an aroma pleasing to the Lord."  

APPLICATION: Christ sacrificed his life on the cross to make atonement between man and God. Therefore, for atonement with God,  I do not need to offer anything other than accepting Jesus as my Lord and the Savior. Offering my life and my "SELF" to God is a voluntary act of worship. However, I need to keep the flame burning in order to keep my relationship intact with God. Then, my life will be an aroma pleasing to the Lord. Whatever that hinders the fire to flame, I should be ready to remove it from me. This is a continuous and everyday responsibility to keep my spiritual life alive.

PRAYER: Father God, I offer my life on the altar of sacrifice. Thank you for accepting me. Cleanse me, purify my thoughts everyday so that my life may become an aroma pleasing to you.  Amen.

வேதவசனம்:லேவியராகமம் 6: 8. பின்னும் கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி...சர்வாங்க தகனபலிக்குரிய பிரமாணம் என்னவென்றால், சர்வாங்க தகனபலியானது இராமுழுவதும் விடியற்காலமட்டும் பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் எரியவேண்டும்; பலிபீடத்தின்மேலுள்ள அக்கினி எரிந்துகொண்டே இருக்கவேண்டும்...12. பலிபீடத்தின்மேலிருக்கிற அக்கினி அவியாமல் எரிந்துகொண்டிருக்கவேண்டும்; ஆசாரியன் காலைதோறும் அதின்மேல் எரியும்படி கட்டைகளைப் போட்டு, அதின்மேல் சர்வாங்க தகனபலியை வரிசையாக வைத்து, அதின்மேல் சமாதான பலிகளின் கொழுப்பைப் போட்டுத் தகனிக்கக்கடவன். 13. பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் அக்கினி எப்பொழுதும் எரிந்துகொண்டிருக்கவேண்டும்; அது ஒருபொழுதும் அவிந்துபோகலாகாது.

கவனித்தல்:  தேவனுடன் ஒப்புரவாகவும், தேவன் மீது உள்ள தங்கள் பக்தி, அர்ப்பணிப்பு மற்றும் முழுமையான ஒப்புக் கொடுத்தலை வெளிப்படுத்தவும் தன்னார்வத்துடன் தேவனுக்குச் செய்யும் ஆராதனையின் அல்லது தொழுகையின் ஒரு செயலாக தகன பலியை இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் செலுத்தி வந்தனர். தகன பலியாக செலுத்தப்படுவது எதுவாக இருந்தாலும், அது சாம்பலாகுமட்டும் சுட்டெரிக்கப்பட வேண்டும். இதற்கு, பலிபீடத்தில் உள்ள நெருப்பானது இரவும் பகழும் எப்பொழுதும் எரியும்படி வைத்திருப்பது மிகவும் முக்கியமானது ஆகும். பலிபீடத்தில் வைக்கப்பட்ட பலியானது  முழுவதும் எரிந்த பின்பு, அந்த தகனபலியானது  தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமான “சுகந்த வாசனையாக” ஆகிறது. ஆசாரியன் அனுதினமும் எரிகிறதற்கான விறகை பலிபீடத்தில் வைத்து, அதில் உள்ள சாம்பலை அனுதினமும் அகற்ற வேண்டும். தகன பலி கட்டாயம் செலுத்த வேண்டிய பலி அல்ல, அது விருப்பத்துடன் தன்னார்வமாக தேவனுக்கு படைக்கிற ஒரு பலி. ஆயினும், கர்த்தரிடம் எவரேனும் அதைக் கொண்டுவரும்போது, அல்லது அவர்முன் அதைப் படைக்கும்போது, தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமான சுகந்த வாசனையாக செலுத்த சில நடைமுறைகள் உண்டு.

பயன்பாடு:  மனிதனுக்கும் தேவனுக்கும் ஒப்புரவை உண்டாக்குவதற்காக கிறிஸ்து தம்மையே தியாக பலியாக சிலுவையில் ஒப்புக் கொடுத்தார். ஆகவே, தேவனுடன் ஒப்புரவாக இயேசுவை நான் என் சொந்த இரட்சகராகவும் ஆண்டவராகவும் ஏற்றுக் கொள்வதைத் தவிர வேறு எதையும் செய்யத் தேவை இல்லை. நான் என் வாழ்க்கையையும், என் “சுயத்தையும்” தேவனுக்குப் படைப்பது நானாக விரும்பி தன்னார்வத்துடன் செய்கிற ஆராதனையின் ஒரு செயல் ஆகும்.  ஆயினும், தேவனுடனான என் உறவு நெருக்கமானதாக இருக்க நான் நெருப்பை அணையவிடாமல் பார்த்துக் கொள்ள வேண்டும். அப்பொழுது,  என் வாழ்க்கை தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமான சுகந்த வாசனையாக இருக்கும். நெருப்பு சுடர் விட்டு எரிய தடையாக இருக்கும் எதையும் நான் என்னிடத்தில் இருந்து அகற்றிப் போட தயாராக இருக்க வேண்டும். என் ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கை உயிர்ப்புடன் இருக்க, இது நான் தொடர்ச்சியாக, அனுதினமும் செய்ய வேண்டிய ஒரு  பொறுப்பு ஆகும். 

ஜெபம்:  தந்தையாகிய தெய்வமே, உம் பலிபீடத்தில் உமக்கு முன்பாக, உமக்காக பலியாக நான் என்னை சமர்ப்பிக்கிறேன். என்னை ஏற்றுக் கொள்கிறதற்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. உமக்குப் பிரியமான சுகந்த வாசனையாக என் வாழ்க்கை மாற, அனுதினமும் என்னைக் கழுவி, என் சிந்தனைகளையும் என் வாழ்க்கையையும் சுத்திகரியும். ஆமென்.

மின்னுவதெல்லாம் பொன்னல்ல

  வாசிக்க: லேவியராகமம் 3,4; சங்கீதம் 47; மத்தேயு 24:1-28

வேதவசனம்:மத்தேயு 24: 4. இயேசு அவர்களுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: ஒருவனும் உங்களை வஞ்சியாதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்...25. இதோ, முன்னதாக உங்களுக்கு அறிவித்திருக்கிறேன்.

கவனித்தல்: கடைசி நாட்களைப் பற்றிய அடையாளம் என்ன என்று இயேசுவிடம் அவருடைய சீடர்கள் கேட்டபோது,  கடைசிநாட்களின் வஞ்சகங்களைப் பற்றிய ஆபத்துகளைக் குறித்து இயேசு எச்சரித்தார். மத்தேயு 24:4ல் வருகிற  “எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்” என்கிற  இயேசுவின் வார்த்தை   எந்த வஞ்சகத்தில் இருந்தும் நம்மைக் காத்துக் கொள்வதற்காக எது சரி அல்லது தவறு என்பதை அறியும்படி, கவனிக்கவும், உணர்ந்து கொள்ளவும், நிதானிக்கவும் நம்மை அழைக்கிறது. ஒலிவ மலையில் கடைசி நாட்களைப் பற்றிப் பேசிய தன் உரையில், ஒரு விசுவாசிக்கு வரப் போகிற உள்ளான மற்றும் வெளியில் இருந்து வரக் கூடிய போராட்டங்கள் அல்லது கஷ்டங்கள் பற்றி இயேசு பேசினார். அவைகளில், இயேசு குறிப்பிட்ட மற்ற எந்த பேரழிவுகள், நிகழ்வுகளைக் காட்டிலும் இயேசுவைப் பின்பற்றுபவரை ஏமாற்ற/வஞ்சிக்க நடக்கும் முயற்சிகள் அதிக ஆபத்துகளை உண்டாக்கும். ஏனெனில் அது ஒருவரை தேவனிடம் இருந்து பிரித்துவிடக் கூடும். எதையும் ஆராய்ந்து பார்க்காமல் நம்புவதற்குப் பதிலாக, பல பிரச்சாரங்கள் நம் கவனத்தைத் திருப்பும்போது மிகவும் எச்சரிக்கையாக இருக்க வேண்டும். ஆட்டுத்தோல் போர்த்திக் கொண்டு ஒருவர் வந்தாலும், அவர் தேவனிடம் இருந்து வந்தவரா இல்லையா என்பதை நிதானித்து அறியவேண்டியது ஒவ்வொரு விசுவாசியின் பொறுப்பு ஆகும். இவ்வகையான வருகின்ற, வரப்போகின்ற ஆபத்துகளைப் பற்றி இயேசு முன்னமே சொல்லி இருக்கிறார். நாம் விழிப்புடனும், தெளிந்த புத்தியுள்ளவர்களாகவும் இருக்க வேண்டும். 

பயன்பாடு:  ஒரு கிறிஸ்தவனாக, எனக்கெதிராக வரும் எதையும் சந்திக்க நான் என்னை ஆயத்தப்படுத்திக் கொள்ள வேண்டும். கடைசி நாட்களில் என்ன நடக்கும் என இயேசு கிறிஸ்து முன்னமே சொல்லி இருக்கிறார்.  இந்த உலகத்தில் என்ன நடந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறது என்பதை நான் கவனித்துப் பார்க்கும் போது, இயேசுவின் வார்த்தைகள் உண்மை என்று அறிந்து கொள்கிறேன். என் ஆத்துமப் பசியை நீக்கவும், எந்த ஆபத்துகளில் இருந்தும் என்னை எச்சரித்துப் பாதுகாக்கவும் இயேசுவின்  வார்த்தைகள் போதுமானவை. இந்த உலகத்தின் ஆபத்துகளில் இருந்து என்னைக் காத்துக்கொள்ள இயேசு மற்றும் அவருடைய வார்த்தைகளைத் தவிர வேறு எதுவும் எனக்குத் தேவை இல்லை. என்னை வஞ்சிக்கும், தவறாக வழிநடத்தும் எதையும் நான் நிராகரிக்க நான் திறந்த கண்களையும், செவிகளையும் மற்றும் நிதானித்து அறியும் இருதயத்தையும் உடையவனாக இருக்க வேண்டும். .

ஜெபம்:  இயேசுவே, கடைசி நாட்களைப் பற்றிய உம் தீர்க்கதரிசனத்திற்காகவும், எச்சரிப்புக்காகவும் உமக்கு நன்றி. நான் சத்தியத்தில் உறுதியாக நிற்கவும், எந்த வஞ்சகத்திலும் விழாமல் உம் மீது நான் வைத்திருக்கும் என் விசுவாசத்தைக் காத்துக் கொள்ளவும் எனக்கு உதவும். ஆமென்.

All that glitters are not gold!

  READ: Leviticus 3, 4; Psalm 47; Matthew 24:1-28

SCRIPTURE: Matthew 24:4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you... 25 See, I have told you ahead of time.

OBSERVATION: When Jesus' disciples asked him about the signs of the end days, Jesus warned them about the dangers of deceptions of  the end days. Here the word "watch out" calls us to see, to perceive and to discern what is right or wrong in order to protect ourselves from any deception. In his Olivet discourse about the end days,  he spoke about internal and external struggles of a believer. Among these struggles, attempts to deceive a follower of Christ would cause more damages than any other disasters he mentioned in his speech, for it could separate a person away from God. Instead of blindly believing something, we need to be alert when propagandas divert our attention. Even if someone comes in sheep's clothing, it is the responsibility of every believer to discern whether it is from God or not. Jesus informed us about all these dangers of upcoming, existing deceptions well ahead of time. We need to be alert and of sober mind. 

APPLICATION: As a Christian, I need to prepare myself to face everything that comes against me. Christ Jesus already told about what would happen in the end days. As I watch out what is happening in the world, I understand that his words are true. His words are sufficient to feed my spiritual hunger and to warn me of any dangers. I need no other source other than him and his word, to escape the dangers of the world. All I need is to have open eyes, ears and a discerning heart to  reject anything that misleads or deceives me.

PRAYER: Jesus, thank you for your prophecy and warning about the end days. Help me to stand firm in the truth and to guard my faith from any deception.  Amen.

வேதவசனம்:சங்கீதம் 46: 1. தேவன் நமக்கு அடைக்கலமும் பெலனும், ஆபத்துக்காலத்தில் அநுகூலமான துணையுமானவர். 2. ஆகையால் பூமி நிலைமாறினாலும், மலைகள் நடுச்சமுத்திரத்தில் சாய்ந்துபோனாலும், 3. அதின் ஜலங்கள் கொந்தளித்துப் பொங்கி, அதின் பெருக்கினால் பர்வதங்கள் அதிர்ந்தாலும், நாம் பயப்படோம். (சேலா.)

கவனித்தல்: தேவனுடைய ஜனங்கள் மத்தியில் ஏன் பயம் என்பது இருக்காது என்பதற்கான காரணத்தை சங்கீதம் 46 கூறுகிறது. இயற்கைப் பேரழிவுகள், ஆபத்துகள் அல்லது பிரச்சனைகள் எதுவும் இருக்காது என வேதாகமம் சொல்லவில்லை. மாறாக, நாம் தடுமாறுகிற அல்லது கஷ்டப்படுகிற அப்படிப்பட்ட கடினமான காலங்களில் நமக்குக் கிடைக்கக் கூடிய அனுகூலமான உதவி பற்றி வேதம் கூறுகிறது. ”தேவனே நம் அடைக்கலம், நம் பெலன்” என்று சங்கீதகாரன் இங்கு நினைவுபடுத்துகிறார். நாம் வாழும் உலகம் உடைந்து தலைகீழாக மாறலாம். ஆயினும், நமக்கு உதவ தேவன் இருக்கிறார். நாம் அவருக்குள் தஞ்சமடைய முடியும், ஏனெனில் அவரே நம் அடைக்கலம். கர்த்தர் நம் பெலனாக இருப்பதால், வாழ்க்கையின் மிகப் பெரிய சவாலான அல்லது சோதனையான காலத்தை எதிர் கொள்வதாக நினைக்கும் காலங்களிலும், நாம் உறுதியுடன் இருக்க முடியும். நாம் தேவனை நம்பி, அவர் மீது நம் நம்பிக்கையை வைக்கும் காலமளவும், நாம் எந்தவிதமான பயத்தில் இருந்தும் விடுபட்டவர்களாக இருப்போம். நாம் அவரை எக்காலத்திலும் அழைக்க முடியும். 27/7, எல்லா நேரங்களிலும் அவர் நமக்கு உதவ ஆயத்தமாக இருக்கிறார். நம் சோதனையான நேரங்களில் நாம் பலவீனமாக இருக்கலாம். ஆயினும், நமக்குத் தேவையான பெலனை நாம் தேவனிடத்தில் பெற்றுக் கொள்ள முடியும்.

பயன்பாடு: எனக்கு உதவக் கூடியவர் என நான் நினைக்கும் மனிதர்கள் எனக்கு உதவ முடியாதபடி அவர்களுக்கு வேலை இருக்கும் என நான் நினைத்து அவர்களை அழைக்கத் தயங்கிய நேரங்கள் உண்டு. சில நேரங்களில், அவர்கள் எனக்கு உதவ ஆயத்தமாக இருந்தாலும் கூட, அவர்கள் சக்திக்கு மிஞ்சினதாக அல்லது அவர்கள் எல்லைக்கு அப்பாற்பட்டதாக என் சூழ்நிலைகள் இருந்ததால் அவர்களால் உதவ முடியாமல் போனதும் உண்டு. இங்கே, சர்வ வல்லமையுள்ள தேவன் எனக்கு உதவ தயராக இருக்கிறார். நான் அவரை உதவிக்கு அழைக்கும் நேரங்களில் அவர் எவ்வித பாரபட்சமும் காட்டுவதில்லை. என் உண்மையான பெலனை நான் பெற்றுக்கொள்ள நான் ஒரு நாளின் எந்த நேரத்திலும் அவரிடம் செல்ல முடியும். நான் எந்தளவுக்கு சீக்கிரமாக போகிறேனோ, அந்தளவுக்கு விரைவாக என் உதவியைப் பெற்றுக் கொள்கிறேன். 

ஜெபம்:  தந்தையாகிய தெய்வமே, எக்காலத்திலும் நான் உம் மீது நம்பிக்கை வைக்க என்னை உற்சாகப்படுத்துவதற்காக  உமக்கு நன்றி. நான் எந்தச் சூழ்நிலையில் இருந்தாலும், நீர் எனக்கு உதவ முடியும். என் அன்பின் ஆண்டவரே, இந்த நாளுக்கான சோதனைகளை எதிர்கொள்ள உம் வல்லமையை எனக்குத்  தாரும். நீர் என்னுடன் இருப்பதால், நன் பயப்படமாட்டேன். ஆமென்.

An ever-present help

 READ: Leviticus 1, 2; Psalm 46; Matthew 23:23-39

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 46: 1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam nd the mountains quake with their surging.

OBSERVATION: Psalm 46 tells us that why there will be no fear among the people of God. The bible does not say that  there will be no calamity or problems in our life. Rather, it speaks of the availability of "an ever-present help" during those difficult times when we struggle or suffer. Here the Psalmist reminds, "God is our refuge and strength." The world we live  may collapse upside down, even big mountains may fall, but God is available to help us. We can hide ourselves in him, for he is our refuge. We can be strong, even if we go through a challenging or trying period of our life, for God is our strength. As long as we trust God and put our hope in him, we will be free from any fear. We can call on him any time. He is available to help us all the times — 24/7. We may be/become weak in times of trouble, But we can find our strength in God. 

APPLICATION: There were times when I was reluctant or hesitant to call for help by thinking that the person whom I think who can help me may be too busy to help me. Sometimes, even if they were available to help, they couldn't help as it was beyond their capacity. Here, the almighty God is available to help me. He shows no partiality to my calls for help. I can go to him any time of  a day to find my real strength. The sooner I go to God, the sooner I will find my help.  So in my testing times, 
"I will call upon the Lord 
Who is worthy to be praised.
So shall I be saved from my enemies
I will call upon the Lord"

PRAYER: Father God, thank you for encouraging me to trust you always. You are able to help me whatever situation I may be in. My loving Lord, give me your strength to face the trials of the day. For you are with me, I will not fear. Amen.

The fruit of obedience

READ: Exodus 39, 40; Psalm 45; Matthew 23:1-22

SCRIPTURE: Exodus 39:42 The Israelites had done all the work just as the Lord had commanded Moses. 43 Moses inspected the work and saw that they had done it just as the Lord had commanded. So Moses blessed them.
Exodus 40: 34 Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle....38 So the cloud of the Lord was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the Israelites during all their travels.

OBSERVATION: In today's bible reading passage, we see two kinds of people. The first is those who were diligent in doing things "as the Lord Commanded", secondly we read about the hypocrites who were warned by Jesus for not doing what God required of them but doing things that pleased them. When the people of God finished their work "as the Lord commanded", they received blessing and were able to see the glory of the Lord which would guide them in their remaining journey to Canaan. On the other hand, we read Jesus' condemnation against those hypocrites. Obedience to the commands of the Lord always brings blessing and helps us to see God's guidance for our life. 

APPLICATION: God honors my obedience when I do things as he commanded. At the same time, if I practice hypocrisy in my life, he condemns it. I cannot hide anything from God. God sees my heart that obeys than my actions. When I obey God, I honor Him and I receive the blessings of the Lord and his guidance for my life. So always, “I will do" the commands of God  "just as he commanded."

PRAYER: Father God, help me today to see your glory and guidance through my obedience.  Holy Spirit, help me to overcome my weaknesses, strengthen me to obey God with love. Keep me away from any form of hypocrisy. Amen.

கீழ்ப்படிதலின் பலன்

வேதவசனம்:யாத்திராகமம் 39:42. கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியெல்லாம் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் சகல வேலைகளையும் செய்தார்கள். 43. மோசே அந்த வேலைகளையெல்லாம் பார்த்தான்; கர்த்தர் கற்பித்தபடியே அதைச் செய்திருந்தார்கள். மோசே அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதித்தான்.
யாத்திராகமம் 40:34. அப்பொழுது ஒரு மேகம் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்தை மூடினது; கர்த்தருடைய மகிமை வாசஸ்தலத்தை நிரப்பிற்று. 35. மேகம் அதின்மேல் தங்கி, கர்த்தருடைய மகிமை வாசஸ்தலத்தை நிரப்பினதின(து)…38. இஸ்ரவேல் வம்சத்தார் பண்ணும் எல்லாப் பிரயாணங்களிலும் அவர்களெல்லாருடைய கண்களுக்கும் பிரத்தியட்சமாகப் பகலில் கர்த்தருடைய மேகமும், இரவில் அக்கினியும், வாசஸ்தலத்தின் மேல் தங்கியிருந்தது.

கவனித்தல்: இன்றைய வேதவாசிப்புப் பகுதியில், நாம் இரண்டுவிதமான ஜனங்களைப் பற்றி வாசிக்கிறோம். முதலாவது, "கர்த்தர் கட்டளையிட்டபடி" காரியங்களைச் செய்வதில் முனைப்பு காட்டியவர்கள். இரண்டாவதாக, தேவன் எதிர்பார்க்கிறபடி செய்யாமல் தங்களுக்குப் பிரியமான வழிகளில் சுயநலமாக செயல்பட்டதினால் இயேசு எச்சரிக்கை செய்த மாய்மாலக்காரர்களைப் பற்றி நாம் வாசிக்கிறோம். தேவனுடைய ஜனங்கள் “கர்த்தர் கற்பித்தபடி” தங்கள் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடார வேலையை செய்து முடித்த போது, அவர்கள் ஆசீர்வாதத்தையும், கானான் தேசத்துக்குச் செல்கிற பயணத்திற்குத் தேவையான வழிகாட்டுதலை உடனிருந்துத் தரும் கர்த்தருடைய மகிமையையும் அவர்களால் காண முடிந்தது. மறுபக்கத்திலோ, தேவனைப் புறந்தள்ளின மாய்மாலக்காரர்களுக்கு எதிரான இயேசுவின் எச்சரிக்கைகளைப் பற்றி நாம் வாசிக்கிறோம். கர்த்தருடைய கற்பனைகளுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிதல் எப்பொழுதும் ஆசீர்வாதங்களையும், நம் வாழ்க்கையில் தேவ வழிநடத்துதலையும் காண உதவுகிறது. 

பயன்பாடு: தேவன் கற்பித்தபடி நான் காரியங்களைச் செய்யும்போது, தேவன் என் கீழ்ப்படிதலை கனப்படுத்துகிறார். அதே வேளையில், என் வாழ்க்கையில் நான் மாய்மாலம் அல்லது பாசாங்குத்தனம் செய்கிறவனாக இருந்தால், அவர் அதை எச்சரிக்கிறார். நான் தேவனிடம் இருந்து எதையும் மறைக்க முடியாது.  மாய்மாலமான என்னுடைய செயல்களைக் காட்டிலும், கீழ்ப்படிகிற என் இருதயத்தை தேவன் காண்கிறார். நான் தேவனுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியும்போது, நான் தேவனை உயர்த்தி கனப்படுத்துகிறேன். மேலும், என் வாழ்க்கைக்குத் தேவையான தேவனுடைய ஆசீர்வாதங்களையும், அவருடைய வழிநடத்துதலையும் நான் பெறுகிறேன். ஆகவே, எப்பொழுதும் கர்த்தர் கற்பித்தபடியே அவருடைய கட்டளைகளுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்து நான் வாழ்வேன். 

ஜெபம்:  தந்தையாகிய தெய்வமே, என் கீழ்ப்படிதலின் மூலமாக இன்று நான் உம் மகிமையையும் வழிகாட்டுதலையும் காண எனக்கு உதவும். பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரே, என் பலவீனங்களை மேற்கொள்ள எனக்கு உதவும், அன்புடன் நான் தேவனுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிய என்னை பெலப்படுத்தும், எந்தவிதமான மாய்மாலங்களையும் செய்வதில் இருந்து என்னை விலக்கிக் காத்தருளும். ஆமென்.

கடைபிடிக்கவேண்டிய பிரதானமான கற்பனை

 வாசிக்க: யாத்திராகமம் 37, 38; சங்கீதம் 44; மத்தேயு 22:23-46

வேதவசனம்:மத்தேயு 22:34. அவர் சதுசேயரை வாயடைத்தார் என்று பரிசேயர் கேள்விப்பட்டு, அவரிடத்தில் கூடிவந்தார்கள். 35. அவர்களில் நியாயசாஸ்திரி ஒருவன் அவரைச் சோதிக்கும்படி: 36. போதகரே, நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திலே எந்தக் கற்பனை பிரதானமானது என்று கேட்டான்.

கவனித்தல்: இயேசுவை சிக்க வைப்பதற்காக ஒரு கூட்டு முயற்சி செய்து அதில் தோல்வி கண்ட பரிசேயரும் சதுசேயரும் தங்கள் நம்பிக்கை மற்றும் போதனைகளை நிரூபிப்பதற்காக, தங்கள் காலத்தில் பதிலளிக்கக் கடினமானக் கேள்விகள் என அவர்கள் கருதின கேள்விகளைத் தனித் தனியாக இயேசுவிடம் கேட்க ஆரம்பித்தனர்.சதுசேயர்கள் இயேசுவுக்கு முன் வாயடைத்துப் போனார்கள் என்பதைக் கேள்விப்பட்டதும், சதுசேயர்களை விட நாம் சிறந்தவர்கள் என பரிசேயர்கள் நினைத்திருக்கக் கூடும். ஏனெனில், அவர்கள் மோசேயின் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தைத் தீவிரமாகக் கடைபிடித்தவர்கள் மற்றும் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திற்கு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுப்பதில் மிகவும் பெயர்பெற்றவர்களாக நன்கறியப்பட்டவர்களாக இருந்தனர். ஆகவே, அந்தக் காலகட்டத்தில் யூதர்களிடையே மிகவும் பிரபலமானதாக இருந்த ஒரு கேள்வியை அவர்கள் இயேசுவிடம் கேட்டனர். அந்நாட்களில், எது மிக முக்கியமான, பிரதானமான கற்பனை என்பதில் ஜனங்களிடையே பல்வேறு வித்தியாசமான கருத்துக்கள் காணப்பட்டது. அவரவர் தங்கள் பார்வையின் படி, பலிகளைக் குறித்த பிரமாணத்திற்கோ, அல்லது விருத்தசேதனம் பற்றிய பிரமாணத்திற்கோ, அல்லது ஓய்வுநாளைப் பற்றியப் பிரமாணத்திற்கோ என்பன போன்ற பல பிரமாணங்களுக்கு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுத்து வந்தனர். இயேசுவோ, முழு நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தையும் இரண்டே வாக்கியங்களில்  துல்லியமாக சுருக்கிக் கூறினதைப் பார்க்கிறோம். தேவனிடம் அன்பாக இருப்பது எப்பொழுதுமே முதலாவதும் மற்றும் பிரதானதுமான கற்பனை ஆகும்.  இதற்கு அடுத்ததாக, ஒரு நபர் தன்னை நேசிப்பது போல மற்றவர்களையும் நேசிப்பது இரண்டாவது பெரிய கற்பனை ஆகும். நாம் இந்த வரிசையை மாற்றக் கூடாது. நிபந்தனைகள் அல்லது சட்டங்கள் மூலமாக அல்ல, அன்பு செய்வதன் மூலமாக மட்டுமே நாம் தேவனுடைய கற்பனையை, பிரமாணங்களை நிறைவேற்றவோ அல்லது வாழ்க்கையில் நடைமுறைப்படுத்தவோ முடியும். தேவன் அன்பாகவே இருக்கிறார். அவர் நம்மை நேசிப்பதுடன், நாமும் முதலாவது அவரையும் பின்பு மற்றவர்களையும் நேசிக்க வேண்டும் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கிறார்.

பயன்பாடு: என்னிடம் அன்பு இல்லை எனில், என் கல்வி, சமுதாய அந்தஸ்து, வேதாகம மற்றும் இறையியல் அறிவு, என் நீண்ட அனுபவம் போன்றவைகளுக்கு எந்த விதமான மதிப்பும் இராது. நான் முதலாவதாக தேவனை அன்பு செய்ய வேண்டும். மேலும், தேவனுக்கு கொடுத்திருக்கும் இடத்தில் வேறெந்த மனிதனையும் நான் வைக்கக் கூடாது.  நான் தேவனையும், மற்ற மனிதர்களையும் நேசிக்கும்போது, நான் முழு இருதயத்தோடும், முழு ஆத்துமாவோடும், மற்றும் முழு மனதோடும் அதைச் செய்ய வேண்டும். 

ஜெபம்: நியாயப் பிரமாணம் பற்றிய ஒரு புதிய கண்ணோட்டத்தை எனக்குத் தருகிற உம் வார்த்தைகளுக்காக, இயேசுவே உமக்கு நன்றி! நான் முதலாவதாக தேவனைத் தேடவும் நேசிக்கவும், அதன் பின்னர் மற்றவர்களையும் நேசிக்க எனக்கு உதவும். நான் இதை முழு இருதயத்தோடும், முழு ஆத்துமாவோடும், மற்றும் முழு மனதோடும் செய்ய உம் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் எனக்கு உதவுவாராக. ஆமென்.
