தேவனுடைய வார்த்தை வல்லமையுள்ளது

 வாசிக்க: ஏசாயா 55, 56; சங்கீதம் 90; கலாத்தியர் 5

வேத வசனம்:  ஏசாயா 55: 10. மாரியும் உறைந்த மழையும் வானத்திலிருந்து இறங்கி, அவ்விடத்துக்குத் திரும்பாமல் பூமியை நனைத்து, அதில் முளை கிளம்பி விளையும்படிச்செய்து, விதைக்கிறவனுக்கு விதையையும், புசிக்கிறவனுக்கு ஆகாரத்தையும் கொடுக்கிறது எப்படியோ,
11. அப்படியே என் வாயிலிருந்து புறப்படும் வசனமும் இருக்கும்; அது வெறுமையாய் என்னிடத்திற்குத் திரும்பாமல், அது நான் விரும்புகிறதைச்செய்து, நான் அதை அனுப்பின காரியமாகும்படி வாய்க்கும்.

கவனித்தல்:  தேவன் தம் ஜனங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்த பல வாக்குத்தத்தங்களை ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசன புத்தகம் நமக்கு நினைவுபடுத்துகிறது. விசேஷங்களில், (ஒரு நாள், மாதம், மற்றும் ஆண்டு போன்ற) புதிய ஆரம்பங்களில், மற்றும் பல ஊக்குவிக்கும் தின தியானங்களில் நாம் வாசிக்கும் கேட்கும் பெரும்பாலான வசனங்கள் ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசன புத்தகத்தில் உள்ளவை ஆகும். ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசியின் மூலமாக தேவன் பேசின வார்த்தைகள் தேவ ஜனங்களை பலப்படுத்துகிறதாகவும், அவர்களுக்கு நம்பிக்கை அளிப்பதாகவும் இக்காலத்திலும் இருக்கின்றன. தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையானது எப்படி செயல்படுகிறது என்பதை ஏசாயா 55:10-11 நமக்கு விளக்குகிறது. இங்கே, தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையானது ஒரு போதும் அதன் நோக்கத்தை அடையத் தவறுவதில்லை என்பதை விளக்கும் எளிதில் புரிந்து கொள்ளக்கூடிய மற்றும் சக்திவாய்ந்த ஒரு படத்தை நாம் காண்கிறோம்.  

முதலாவதாக, தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையானது தேவனிடத்தில் இருந்து வருகிறது என்பதை நாம் அறிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும். அப்போஸ்தலனாகிய பேதுரு சொல்வது போல, ” வேதத்திலுள்ள எந்தத் தீர்க்கதரிசனமும் சுயதோற்றமான பொருளையுடைய(து)” அல்ல (2 பேதுரு.1:20). இரண்டாவதாக, தேவனுடைய வார்த்தைகள் வெறுமையானவை அல்ல; அவை குறித்த நோக்கம் மற்றும் வல்லமை உடையவைகளாக இருக்கின்றன. அவை ஒருபோதும் வெறுமையாகத் திரும்புவதில்லை. தேவன் ஏன் தம் வசனத்தை அனுப்புகிறார் என நாம் யோசிக்கலாம்.  தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையின் முதன்மையான நோக்கம் என்னவெனில், நம்முடன் பேசி உரையாடுவது ஆகும் (எபி.1:1-2).  மேலும், அது குணமாகுதலையும் விடுதலையையும் தருகிறது (சங்.107:20). பவுல் தீமோத்தேயுவுக்கு எழுதுகிறபடி, “வேதவாக்கியங்களெல்லாம் தேவ ஆவியினால் அருளப்பட்டிருக்கிறது; தேவனுடைய மனுஷன் தேறினவனாகவும், எந்த நற்கிரியையுஞ் செய்யத் தகுதியுள்ளவனாகவும் இருக்கும்படியாக, அவைகள் உபதேசத்துக்கும், கடிந்துகொள்ளுதலுக்கும் சீர்திருத்தலுக்கும், நீதியைப் படிப்பிக்குதலுக்கும் பிரயோஜனமுள்ளவைகளாயிருக்கிறது” (2 தீமோ.3:16-17). தேவனுடைய வார்த்தைகள் “ஆவியாயும் ஜீவனாயும் இருக்கின்றன” (யோவான் 6:63). கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தை என்றும் நிலைநிற்கும் (ஏசாயா 46:9-11). ”அவர் சொல்ல ஆகும், அவர் கட்டளையிட நிற்கும்” என்று சங்கீதம் 33:9 சொல்கிறது. ஏசாயா 55:10-11ல் மழையின் நோக்கம் என்ன என்பதை நாம் பார்க்கிறோம்; வானத்தில் இருந்து மழை வரும்போது அது செய்யக் கூடிய காரியங்களைப் பற்றிய ஒரு பட்டியலை நாம் காண்கிறோம். ஒரு நிலமானது மழை நீரை தன்னில் ஏற்றுக் கொண்டு, அது தன் வேலையைச் செய்ய அனுமதிக்கும்போது, அந்நிலம் மிகுந்த கனிகளைக் கொடுக்கும். அது போல, தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையானது அது வந்த நோக்கத்தை நிறைவேற்றி வெற்றிபெறுகிறதாக இருக்கும். வேதம் சொல்வது போல, தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையானது ஜீவனும் வல்லமையும் உள்ளதாக” இருக்கிறது  (எபி.4:12). நாம் தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையை எக்காலத்திலும் நம்பலாம் (ஏசாயா 40:8).

பயன்பாடு: என் தேவன் என்னுடன் பேசுகின்ற உயிருள்ள தெய்வமாக இருக்கிறார். “உம்முடைய வார்த்தைகள் கிடைத்தவுடனே அவைகளை உட்கொண்டேன்; உம்முடைய வார்த்தைகள் எனக்குச் சந்தோஷமும், என் இருதயத்துக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியுமாயிருந்தது” என்று எரேமியா சொல்கிறார் (எரே.15:16). நான் தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையைக் கேட்கும்போது, அதை என்  வாழ்வில் பயன்படுத்த நான் தயக்கம் காட்டக் கூடாது. தேவன் என் வாழ்க்கையைக் குறித்து ஒரு நோக்கம் வைத்திருக்கிறார். அவருடைய ஒவ்வொரு வார்த்தையும் என் வாழ்வில் செய்து முடிக்க வேண்டிய குறிக்கோள் உடையவர்களாக இருக்கின்றன. நான் தேவனுடைய வார்த்தைக்குச் செவிகொடுத்து, அவருக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியும்போது, நான் தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையும் ஆசீர்வாதங்கள் அனைத்தையும் பெற்று அனுபவிக்கிறேன்.

ஜெபம்: தந்தையாகிய தெய்வமே, இன்றும் என்னுடன் நீர் பேசுகிறதற்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. உம் வார்த்தைகளுக்கு நான் கவனமுள்ளவனாக இருக்கும்படி என் செவிகளைத் திறந்தருளும். நீர் என்னில் செய்ய விரும்புகிறவைகளைச் செய்யும்படி உம் வார்த்தைகளை அனுமதிக்க எனக்கு உதவியருளும். பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரே, தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையின் வெளிச்சத்தில் நடக்க என்னை வழிநடத்தியருளும். ஆமென்.

God’s word is powerful

 READ: Isaiah 55,56; Psalms 90; Galatians 5

SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 55: 10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

OBSERVATION: The book of Isaiah reminds us of God’s many promises to his people.  Most of the verses we read and hear during special occasions, new beginnings (of a day, month, year), and many encouraging daily devotions are from the book of Isaiah. Even today, the words God spoke through his prophet Isaiah continue to strengthen his people and give them hope. Isaiah 55:10-11 explains how does God’s word work. Here we see an easy-to-understand and powerful picture that illustrates that the word of God will never fail to achieve its purpose.

First, we must know that the word of God comes from God. As apostle Peter says, “no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things” (2 Pet.1:20). Second, God’s words are not empty; they have purpose and power in them. It never returns empty. We may wonder why God sends his words to us. The primary purpose of God’s word is to communicate with us (Heb.1:1-2). And it provides us healing, deliverance (Ps.107:20). As Paul wrote to Timothy, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,  so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Tim.3:16-17). God’s words are “full of the Spirit and life” (Jn.6:63). It never fails to accomplish its’ purpose (Is.46:9-11). The Psalms 33:9 says, “For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.” In Is.55:10-11, we see the purpose of rain; we see a list of things that it does when it comes down from heaven. When a land receives water from the rain and allows it to do its work, the land will yield more fruits. Likewise, God’s word will achieve its purpose. As the Bible says, “the word of God is alive and active” (Heb.4:12). We can trust God’s word in all situations (Is.40:8).  

APPLICATION: My God is the living God who speaks with me. Jeremiah says, “ When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight” (Jer.15:16).  When I hear God’s word, I should not hesitate to apply it to my life. God has a purpose for my life. His every word has a purpose of accomplishing things in my life. As I listen to God’s words and obey him, I experience all the blessings of God’s word.

PRAYER: Father God, thank you for speaking with me even today. Open my ears to be attentive to your words and help me to allow your words to do what you want in me. Holy Spirit, lead me to walk in the light of the word of God. Amen.

இயேசுவின் உண்மையான புகைப்படம்

 வாசிக்க: ஏசாயா 53, 54; சங்கீதம் 89; கலாத்தியர் 4

வேத வசனம்: ஏசாயா 53: 4. மெய்யாகவே அவர் நம்முடைய பாடுகளை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, நம்முடைய துக்கங்களைச் சுமந்தார்; நாமோ, அவர் தேவனால் அடிபட்டு வாதிக்கப்பட்டு, சிறுமைப்பட்டவரென்று எண்ணினோம்.
5. நம்முடைய மீறுதல்களினிமித்தம் அவர் காயப்பட்டு, நம்முடைய அக்கிரமங்களினிமித்தம் அவர் நொறுக்கப்பட்டார்; நமக்குச் சமாதானத்தை உண்டுபண்ணும் ஆக்கினை அவர்மேல் வந்தது; அவருடைய தழும்புகளால் குணமாகிறோம்.

கவனித்தல்:  நாம் செல்பிக்களின் (selfie) காலத்தில் வாழ்கிறோம். ஒரு நாளில் மக்கள் பல முறை தங்களை போட்டோ எடுத்துக் கொண்டு, அவைகளை மற்றவர்களுடனும், சமூக வலைதளங்களிலும் பகிர்ந்து கொள்கிறார்கள். ஆயினும், அவர்கள் விரும்புகிற அல்லது இருதயத்துக்குப் பிடித்தமான படங்கள் மட்டுமே மற்றவர்களுக்குக் காட்டப்படும்/பகிரப்படும். ஏசாயா 52:13-53:12 இல்,  ஏசாயா புத்தகத்தில் பாடுபடும் ஊழியரைப் பற்றிய நான்காவது மற்றும் கடைசிப் பாடலை நாம் வாசிக்கிறோம். ஏசாயா 53ம் அதிகாரம் இயேசுவைப் பற்றிய ஒரு படத்தை நம் முன் வைக்கிறது. அதில், ”அவருக்கு அழகுமில்லை, சௌந்தரியமுமில்லை; அவரைப் பார்க்கும்போது, நாம் அவரை விரும்பத்தக்க ரூபம்” அவருக்கு இல்லை (வ.2). ஆயினும், கிறிஸ்தவர்களாகிய நாம் இந்த அதிகாரத்தை மிகவும் விரும்பி, அடிக்கடி வாசிக்கவும் விரும்புகிறோம். மாறாக, இயேசுவை மேசியா என்று ஏற்றுக் கொள்ள மறுக்கிற யூதர்கள் இதை வாசிப்பது கூட கிடையாது. யூத ரபிமார்கள் ஏசாயா 53 ஐ வாசிக்கும்படி யூதர்களிடம் சொல்ல மாட்டார்கள். பாடுபடும் ஊழியரைப் பற்றிய குறிப்பில் தனித்துவமானது என என்ன இருக்கிறது?

ஏசாயா 53:4-6 பகுதியானது, வரப்போகிற மேசியாவைப் பற்றி கூறும் ஊழியரைப் பற்றியப் பாடல்களில் (Servant Songs) மிகவும் முக்கியமான வேதபகுதி ஆகும். இங்கே மேசியா நமக்காக என்ன செய்தார் என்பதையும் நம் வாழ்வில் அதனால் வரும் விளைவுகள் என்ன என்பதையும் நாம் வாசிக்கிறோம்.  மேலே உள்ள இரண்டு வசனங்களில், ”நம்முடைய” என்ற வார்த்தை எத்தனை முறை வருகிறது என்பதைக் கவனியுங்கள்.  மேசியாவாகிய இயேசு நம்முடைய பாடுகள், நம்முடைய துக்கங்கள், நம்முடைய மீறுதல்கள் மற்றும் நம்முடைய அக்கிரமங்கள் அனைத்தையும் சுமந்து தீர்த்தார். நம் வாழ்வில் சமாதானம், மன்னிப்பு மற்றும் குணமாகுதலைக் கொண்டு வரும்படியாக அவைகள் அனைத்தையும் இயேசு அனுபவித்தார். நம்மில் உள்ள அருவருப்பான மற்றும் வேதனையான காரியங்களை எடுத்துக் கொண்டு, அவர் தன் அற்புதமான அன்பை நமக்குத் தருகிறார். அவருடைய பாடுகளின் வேதனையை விவரிப்பதும், அவர் நமக்காக அடைந்த ஆக்கினைத் தீர்ப்பைப் பற்றிக் கூறுவதும் மிகவும் கடினமானது ஆகும் (ஏசாயா 52:14). இது தற்செயலாக நடந்ததோ  அல்லது விபத்தோ அல்ல. வேதம் சொல்கிறபடி, மனிதன் மீதான தேவனுடைய அன்பை இது வெளிப்படுத்துகிறது (யோவான் 3:16). நாம் தேவனுடைய அன்பை ஏற்றுக் கொண்டு, நம் வேதனை, துக்கங்களை, நம் பாவங்கள் மற்றும் அக்கிரமங்களை சுமப்பதற்காக இயேசு தம்மைத்தாமே ஒப்புக் கொடுத்தார் என்று ஏற்றுக் கொண்டு அதை அறிக்கை செய்யும் போது, நாம் தேவனிடத்தில் சமாதானம் உடையவர்களாகவும், ஆவிக்குரிய மற்றும் சரீர குணமாகுதலைப் பெறுகிறவர்களாக இருக்கிறோம். தேவன் நம் பாவங்களை மன்னித்து நம்மை சுத்திகரிக்கிறார்.  ஏசாயா 53:4-5 வசனங்களில் நம்முடைய என்று வரும் இடங்களில் உங்களுடைய பெயரை அல்லது “என்னுடைய” என்று சொல்லி மறுபடியும் வாசித்து, அதை தியானம் செய்யுங்கள்.

பயன்பாடு: பரிசுத்த வேதாகமம் சொல்லும் மிகப்பெரிய உண்மை என்னவெனில், மிகவும் புகழ்பெற்ற இறையியல் வல்லுனர் கார்ல் பர்த் என்பவர் ஒருமுறை சொன்னது போல, ”இயேசு என்னை நேசிக்கிறார், ஏனெனில் வேதாகமம் சொல்வதும் அதுவே” (Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so.) தேவன் என் மீது வைத்திருக்கிற அன்பை நான் முழுமையாகப் விளங்கிக் கொள்ள முடியாமல் போகலாம். நான் இந்த தீர்க்கதரிசனத்தையும், இயேசுவில் அதன் நிறைவேறுதலையும் வாசிக்கும்போது, தேவனுடைய அன்பு உண்மையானது என்பதைப் புரிந்து கொள்கிறேன். நான் செய்யக் கூடியதெல்லாம் என்னவெனில், தேவனுடைய அன்பை ஏற்றுக் கொண்டு, இயேசு எனக்காக வைத்திருப்பவைகளை பெற்றுக் கொள்வதுதான். ”கர்த்தர் எனக்குச் செய்த எல்லா உபகாரங்களுக்காகவும், அவருக்கு என்னத்தைச் செலுத்துவேன்” (சங்.116:12).

ஜெபம்: தந்தையாகிய தெய்வமே, அறிவுக்கெட்டாத உம் அன்புக்காக நன்றி. இயேசுவே, உம் மாபெரும் மற்றும் இரட்சிக்கும் அன்புக்காக நன்றி. பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரே, தேவனுடைய அன்பை என் இருதயத்தில் ஊற்றுவதற்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. கர்த்தாவே, உம் அன்பில் என்றும் நிலைத்திருக்க எனக்கு உதவியருளும். ஆமென்.

Day - 271

An authentic picture of Jesus

 READ: Isaiah 53,54; Psalms 89; Galatians 4

SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 53: 4 Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

OBSERVATION: We live in the selfie era; people love to take a lot of self-portraits in a day and share them with others and social media. However, only the images that please them or match their heart desire will be shown/shared with others. In Is.52:13-53:12, we read the fourth and final song of the suffering servant in the book of Isaiah. Isaiah 53 gives us a portrait of Jesus, in which there is “no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him” (v.2). Yet, we Christians like this chapter so much and love to read it very often. But Jews who refuse to accept Jesus as the Messiah do not read it at all. Jewish Rabbis would not encourage Jews to read Isaiah 53. What is unique in the description of the suffering servant?

Is.53:4-6 is the crucial passage of the servant songs that says of the coming Messiah. Here we read, what the Messiah did for us and its results on our lives. Notice how many times the word “our” comes in the above two verses. Jesus the Messiah has borne all of “our pain,” “our suffering,” “our transgressions,” and “our iniquities.” He endured all of them to bring peace, forgiveness, and healing to our lives. Jesus takes our ugly and painful things and gives us his incredible love. It is hard to explain the pain of his sufferings and describe all the punishments he endured for us (Is.52:14). It was not accidental or coincidental. As the Bible says, it manifests God’s great love for humanity (Jn.3:16). When we accept God’s love and confess that Jesus gave himself to carry our pain and suffering, to receive the punishment for our sins and iniquities, we have peace with God and receive spiritual and physical healing. God forgives our sins and purifies us. Just reread Is.53:4-5 by putting your name in the place where the word “our” come, and meditate on it.

APPLICATION: The greatest truth of the bible is, as a renowned theologian Karl Barth once said, “Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so.” I may not fully comprehend God’s love for me. When I read this prophecy and its fulfillment in Jesus’ life, I understand God’s love is true! All I can do is to accept God’s love and receive all that Jesus has for me. “What shall I return to the Lord for all his goodness to me?” (Ps.116:12).

PRAYER: Father God, thank you for your love that surpasses knowledge. Jesus, thank you for your greater and saving love. Holy Spirit, thank you for pouring out God’s love into my heart. Lord, help me ever to remain in your love. Amen.

கிறிஸ்துவில் நம் அடையாளம்

 வாசிக்க: ஏசாயா 51, 52; சங்கீதம் 88; கலாத்தியர் 3

வேத வசனம்: கலாத்தியர் 3: 26. நீங்களெல்லாரும் கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவைப்பற்றும் விசுவாசத்தினால் தேவனுடைய புத்திரராயிருக்கிறீர்களே.
27. ஏனெனில், உங்களில் கிறிஸ்துவுக்குள்ளாக ஞானஸ்நானம் பெற்றவர்கள் எத்தனைபேரோ, அத்தனைபேரும் கிறிஸ்துவைத் தரித்துக்கொண்டீர்களே.
28. யூதனென்றும் கிரேக்கனென்றுமில்லை, அடிமையென்றும் சுயாதீனனென்றுமில்லை, ஆணென்றும் பெண்ணென்றுமில்லை; நீங்களெல்லாரும் கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவுக்குள் ஒன்றாயிருக்கிறீர்கள்.

கவனித்தல்:   இயேசுவில் நம் விசுவாசத்தை வைக்கும்போது நாம் தேவனிடம் இருந்து பெறுகிற புதிய அடையாளம் பற்றி பவுல் கூறுகிறார். கிறிஸ்துவில் நாம் தேவனுடைய பிள்ளைகளாக ஆகிறோம். நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின் கிரியைகளை நம்புகிறவர்கள், சாபத்தின் கீழ் இருக்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் கிறிஸ்துவோ அந்த சாபத்திற்கு நம்மை நீங்கலாக்கி  இரட்சித்தார். விசுவாசத்தின் மூலமாக, நாம் தேவனுடைய பிள்ளைகளாக இருக்கிறோம். இங்கு வரும் நிகழ்கால வினைச்சொல்லைப் பாருங்கள். நீங்கள் எதிர்காலத்தின் என்றாவது ஒரு நாள் தேவனுடைய பிள்ளையாக நீங்கள் மாறுவீர்கள் என்று வேதம் சொல்லவில்லை. மாறாக, இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் மீதுள்ள விசுவாசத்தால், நாம் ஏற்கனவே தேவனுடைய மகனாக அல்லது மகளாக இருக்கிறோம். அனேக கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் இது போல சிந்திப்பதில்லை என்பது வருந்தத்தக்கது  ஆகும். ஆகவே அவர்கள் தேவனுடைய பிள்ளையாக வாழ வேண்டிய விதத்தில் வாழ்வதில்லை. ”பெயர் அறியப்படாத கிறிஸ்தவன்” என்று தன்னை அடையாளப்படுத்திக் கொண்ட ஒரு நூலாசிரியர் ஒரு சம்பவத்தை தன் நூலில் குறிப்பிடுகிறார். அதில் ஒரு கிராம மனிதர் யோவான் 1:12 ஐ அப்பொழுதுதான் கேட்ட ஒருவரைப் பற்றி கூறுகிறார். அந்த மனிதன் வேதத்தை வாசித்த மிஷனெரியிடம் தான் உண்மையிலேயே தேவனுடைய ஒரு பிள்ளையாக முடியுமா என்று திரும்பத் திரும்ப கேட்கிறார். அந்த வசனத்தின் அர்த்தத்தை அவர் புரிந்து கொண்டபோது, அவருடைய மகிழ்ச்சியானது அளவற்றதாகவும் கட்டுப்படுத்த முடியாததாகவும் இருந்தது.  முடிவில், அவனின் மகிழ்ச்சியைக் கண்ட பின்பு, அந்த மனிதனுடைய கிராமத்தில் வாழ்ந்த அனைவரும் தேவனுடைய பிள்ளைகளாக மாறினர். தேவனுடைய பிள்ளையாக வாழ நாம் என்ன செய்ய வேண்டும் என்பதைச் சிந்தித்துப் பார்ப்போம்

நாம் கிறிஸ்துவுக்குள்ளாக ஞானஸ்நானம் பண்ணப்படும்போது, கிறிஸ்துவுக்காக வாழும்படி அவருடைய சிலுவை மரணம் மற்றும் உயிர்த்தெழுதலுடன் நம்மை அடையாளப்படுத்திக் கொள்கிறோம் (ரோமர் 6:3-4). நம்மில் வாழும் இயேசுவை இந்த உலகம் காணும்படிச் செய்கிற, கிறிஸ்துவுக்குள்ளான புதிய வாழ்க்கையை, கிறிஸ்துவை தரித்துக் கொள்வதன் மூலமாக நாம் வாழத் துவங்குகிறோம். கிறிஸ்துவில், நாடு சார்ந்த, இன ரீதியிலான, சமுதாய ரீதியிலான, மற்றும் பாலியல் வேறுபாடுகள் எதுவும் கிடையாது. நாம் எந்தப் பிண்ணனியில் இருந்து வந்திருந்தாலும், நாம் அனைவரும் கிறிஸ்துவில் ஒன்றாக இருக்கிறோம். தேவனுடைய பார்வையில் நாமனைவரும் சமம். தேவன் பட்சபாதம் உள்ளவரல்ல (கலா.2:6). கிறிஸ்துவுக்குள் இருக்கிற நாமனைவரும் நம் இரட்சிப்புக்கான தேவனுடைய கிருபையை ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளுவதினால் வரும் ஆசீர்வாதங்களை  பெற்றுக் கொள்ள முடியும். கிறிஸ்துவில் நாம் யார் என்பதை பார்ப்பது தேவனுடைய பிள்ளைகளாக வாழ்வதற்கு நம் மனதை பக்குவப்படுத்துகிறதாகவும், நம் அனுதின வாழ்வில் கிறிஸ்துவுடன் நம்மை அடையாளப்படுத்திக் கொள்ளவும் நமக்கு உதவுகிறது. மேலும், இந்தப் புதிய அடையாளமானது ஒவ்வொரு தனிமனிதரிலும் தேவனுடைய சாயலைக் காண நமக்கு உதவுகிறது. இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவில் மட்டுமே இந்த உலகமானது உண்மையான சமத்துவத்தை அனுபவிக்க முடியும்.

பயன்பாடு: நான் யாராக இருந்தாலும், தேவனுடைய பிள்ளையாக வாழ்வது என்பது என் தனிப்பட்ட விருப்பங்களின் அடிப்படையில் நான் தெரிவு செய்து கொள்கிற ஒன்று அல்ல. நான் ஏற்கனவே தேவனுடைய பிள்ளையாகவே இருக்கிறேன்.  தேவனுடைய பிள்ளையாகிய நான், கிறிஸ்துவை தரித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். இந்த உலகமானது கிறிஸ்துவைத் தவிர வேறு எதையும் என்னில் பார்க்கக் கூடாது என்று நான் விரும்புகிறேன். எந்த அடிப்படையிலும் நான் மக்களுக்கு எதிராக பாகுபாடு காட்ட மாட்டேன். எவ்வித பாகுபாடு அல்லது பாரபட்சம் இல்லாமல் தேவன்  அனைவரையும் நேசிப்பது போல, நான் அனைவரையும் நேசிப்பேன்.

ஜெபம்:  தந்தையாகிய தெய்வமே, தேவனுடைய பிள்ளையாக நான் வாழும்படி என்னைப் பலப்படுத்துகிற புதிய வாழ்க்கை, புதிய அடையாளம், மற்றும் புதிய இருதயத்திற்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. இயேசுவே, நான் எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் உம்மைச் சார்ந்திருக்கிறேன். இயேசுவே, நீர் பெருகவும் நான் சிறுகவும் வேண்டும். பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரே, கிறிஸ்துவில் ஒருமைப்பாட்டைக் காத்துக் கொள்ளவும், தேவ மகிமைக்காக வாழவும் எனக்கு உதவியருளும். ஆமென்.

Day - 270

Our identity in Christ

 READ: Isaiah 51,52; Psalms 88; Galatians 3

SCRIPTURE: Galatians 3: 26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith,
27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

OBSERVATION: Paul tells us about our new identity that we receive from God when we put our faith in Jesus. In Christ, we become children of God. People who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, but  Christ redeemed us from the curse.  Through faith, we are all children of God. Notice the verb here. The bible does not say that you will become a child of God someday in the future. Instead, by faith in Jesus Christ, we are already a son or a daughter of God. Sadly, many Christians do not think in this way. So, they do not live in the way a child of God should live. An author who identified himself as “Unknown Christian” narrates an incident in his book, in which a village man just heard John 1:12. He repeatedly asked the missionary who read the scriptures about whether he could really become a child of God. When he understood the meaning of the verse, his joy was so much and uncontrollable. Eventually, after seeing his happiness, all who lived in his village accepted Jesus and became the children of God. Let us think: what must we do to live as God’s child.

When we are baptized into Christ, we identify with Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection to live for him (Rom.6:3-4). We become one in Christ. By clothing ourselves with Christ, we start to live our new life in Christ, which makes the world see Christ in us. In Christ, there is no national, social, and sexual distinction. Regardless of our backgrounds, we are all one in Christ. We are all equal in the sight of God. “For God does not show favoritism” (Gal.2:6). All who are in Christ can experience these blessings of accepting God’s grace for our salvation. Seeing who we are in Christ enables our minds to live as God’s children and identify with Christ in our day-to-day lives. Moreover, this new identity in Christ helps us to see the image of God in each individual. The world can experience true equality only in Jesus Christ.

APPLICATION: Whomever I may be, living as a child of God is not an option I can choose based on my personal interest. I am already a child of God.  As a child of God, I clothe myself with Christ. I want the world to see nothing but Christ in me. I will not discriminate against people on any basis. I will love all as God loves everyone without any favoritism or partiality.

PRAYER: Father God, thank you for the new life, new identity, and new heart that enable me to live as a child of God. Jesus, I depend on you for everything. Jesus, you must become greater; I must become less. Holy Spirit, help me to maintain the unity in Christ and live for the glory of God. Amen.

ஒரு தாயிலும் மேலானவர்

வேத வசனம்: ஏசாயா 49: 15. ஸ்திரீயானவள் தன் கர்ப்பத்தின் பிள்ளைக்கு இரங்காமல், தன் பாலகனை மறப்பாளோ? அவர்கள் மறந்தாலும், நான் உன்னை மறப்பதில்லை.
16. இதோ, என் உள்ளங்கைகளில் உன்னை வரைந்திருக்கிறேன்; உன் மதில்கள் எப்போதும் என்முன் இருக்கிறது.

கவனித்தல்:  அன்னையின் அன்புதான் சுயநலமற்ற, கரிசனை மிகுந்த, தியாகமான, மற்றும் நிபந்தனையற்ற மனித அன்பின் மிகச் சிறந்த வடிவம் என்பதை அனைவரும், கடவுளை நம்பாதவர்களும் கூட ஒப்புக் கொள்வர். தன் குழந்தை மீது அன்புகாண்பிக்காத ஒரு தாயை காண்பது மிகவும் அரிது. ஏசாயா 49:16இல், தேவன் தம் ஜனங்கள் மீது கொண்டிருக்கும் அன்பை விளக்குவதற்காக அனைவருக்கும் பதில் தெரிந்த ஒரு கேள்வியைக் கேட்கிறார். உன்னை நேசிக்கும் தாய் மறந்தாலும் கூட, “நான் உன்னை மறப்பதில்லை” என்று தேவன் கூறுகிறார். சில சமயங்களில், குறிப்பாக நாம் கடினமான காலங்களினூடாகச் செல்கையில், ஒருவரும் நம்மை நேசிக்கவில்லை என்று நாம் நினைக்கக் கூடும். இங்கே கடவுள் நான் உன்னை நேசிப்பதுடன், உன்னை மறக்க மாட்டேன் என்றும் சொல்கிறார். எரேமியா 31:20இல், “எப்பிராயீம் எனக்கு அருமையான குமாரன் அல்லவோ? அவன் எனக்குப் பிரியமான பிள்ளையல்லவோ? அவனுக்கு விரோதமாய்ப்பேசினது முதல் அவனை நினைத்துக்கொண்டே இருக்கிறேன்; ஆகையால் என் உள்ளம் அவனுக்காகக் கொதிக்கிறது; அவனுக்கு உருக்கமாய் இரங்குவேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.” ”என் தகப்பனும் என் தாயும் என்னைக் கைவிட்டாலும், கர்த்தர் என்னைச் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளுவார்” என்று சங்கீதக்காரனைப் போல  நாம் உறுதியாக இருக்க முடியும் (சங்.27:10).

பொதுவாக, எதிர்காலத்தையும், வெற்றிகளையும் முறையாக அணுகுவதற்கு தங்கள் வாழ்க்கையைக் குறித்த ஒரு தெளிவான வரைபடத்தை  உடையவர்களாக இருக்க வேண்டும் என ஜனங்கள் விரும்புகின்றனர். ”நீங்கள் திட்டமிடத் தவறினால், தோல்வியடைவதற்காக நீங்கள் திட்டமிடுகிறீர்கள்” என அவர்கள் சொல்கிறார்கள். தோல்விகளையும், ஏமாற்றங்களையும் எதிர்கொள்ளும்போது, நாம் கர்த்தரைப் பார்த்து, “ஏன் என்னை மறந்தீர்?” என்று கேட்கக் கூடும் (சங்.42:9). ஆனால் தேவனோ நம்மை அவர் தம் உள்ளங்கைகளில் வரைந்திருப்பதாகச் சொல்கிறார். வசனத்தைக் கவனமாகப் பாருங்கள். அடிக்கடி மறந்து போகிற இயல்புடையவர்கள் பெயர்களை அல்லது குறிப்பிட்ட காரியங்களை தாங்கள் நினைவுகூரும்படி எழுதி வைத்துக் கொள்வார்கள். ஆனால் தேவனோ நம்மை உள்ளங்கைகளில் வரைந்திருக்கிறார். நம் எதிர்காலத்தைக் குறித்த திட்டத்தை நாம் தேவனிடம் கேட்டால், அவர் நம்மிடம் கவலைப்படாதே என்று சொல்லி, தம் அன்பினைப் பற்றிய உறுதிப்படுத்த ஆணிகள் கடாவிய கரங்களைக் காண்பிப்பார்.  நம் எதிர்காலத்தைக் குறித்து தேவன் ஒரு திட்டம் வைத்திருக்கிறார்; அது நம்முடைய திட்டங்களைக் காட்டிலும் சிறந்தது ஆகும் (எரே.29:11). கடைசியாக, நம் வாழ்க்கை மீதான அவருடைய ஆளுகை மற்றும் பாதுகாப்பைப் பற்றி தேவன் நமக்கு நினைவூட்டுகிறார். பண்டைய காலத்தின் மதில் சுவர்கள் நகரத்திற்குள் வாழ்ந்தவர்களைப் பாதுகாத்ததைக் காட்டிலும் அதிகமாக தேவன் நம்மைப் பாதுகாக்கிறார், பராமரிக்கிறார், தேவைகளைச் சந்திக்கிறார். தேவன் பரலோகத்தில் இருந்து நம்மைப் பார்க்கிறார்; அவரிடத்தில் இருந்து நமக்கு ஒத்தாசை வருகிறது. நம் வாழ்க்கையைப் பற்றின தேவனுடைய தனித்துவமான, ஆச்சரியமான, ஆறுதலளிக்கும் வாக்குத்தத்தங்கள் நம்மிடம் உண்டு. நாம் எதையாவது குறித்து ஏன் கவலைப்படவேண்டும்! ஒரு தாயிலும் மேலாக, தேவன் நம்மை நேசிக்கிறார். அவர் கிருபை நமக்குப் போதுமானதாக இருக்கிறது.

பயன்பாடு:  தேவன் சகலத்தையும் குறித்து என்னை பார்க்கிலும் சிறப்பாக அறிந்திருக்கிறார்.  ஆகவே, கவலைப்படுவதற்குப் பதிலாக, தேவனையும் அவருடைய திட்டத்தையும் நாம் நம்பிட முடியும். ஏனெனில் அவர் என்னை நேசிக்கிறார். இயேசு எனக்காக தம் ஜீவனைக் கொடுத்ததினாலே, அன்பு இன்னதென்று நான் அறிந்திருக்கிறேன். தேவன் மீதான என் அன்பை நான் வசனத்தினாலும் நாவினாலும் மட்டுமல்ல,  கிரியையினாலும் உண்மையினாலும் என் அன்பை வெளிப்படுத்த வேண்டும் (1 யோவான் 3:16-18).

ஜெபம்: தந்தையாகிய தெய்வமே, நீர் என் மேல் காட்டிவருகிற மாபெரும் அன்பிற்காக உமக்கு நன்றி.  கர்த்தாவே, நீர் என்னை விட்டு விலகுவதுமில்லை. என்னைக் கைவிடுவதுமில்லை. தேவனே, உம் அன்பில் எந்நாளும் நான் நிலைத்திருக்க எனக்கு உதவியருளும். ஆமென்.

Day - 269

More than a mother

 READ: Isaiah 49,50; Psalms 87; Galatians 2

SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 49: 15 “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!
16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.

OBSERVATION: All people, even those who do not believe in God, would agree that a mother’s love is the best form of unselfish, caring, sacrificial, and unconditional human love. It is scarce to see a mother who does not love her child.  In Isaiah 49:15, God asks a rhetorical question to explain his love for his people. Even if your loving mother forgets you, God says, “I will not forget you!” At times, especially when we go through hard times, we may think that there is none to love us. Here, God promises that not only he loves us, but he will never forget us as well. In Jeremiah 31:20, God says, “Is not Ephraim my dear son, the child in whom I delight? Though I often speak against him, I still remember him. Therefore my heart yearns for him; I have great compassion for him.”  We can be confident like the psalmist that “Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me” (Ps.27:10).

In general, people like to have a blueprint of their lives to approach their future and successes systematically. People say, “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.” When we face failures and disappointments, we may ask the Lord, “Why have you forgotten me?” (Ps.42:9). But God tells us that he has engraved us on his palms. Notice the verse carefully. People who often forget things would write names or particular things for their remembrance. But God inscribes us on his hands. If we ask God for a plan for our future, he will tell us not to worry and show his pierced hands to assure his love. God has a plan for our future; it is better than ours (Jer.29:11). Lastly, God reminds us about his sovereign protection over our lives. More than the ancient city walls that protected the city’s inhabitants, God protects us, provides for our needs. God sees us from heaven, and our help comes from him. We have God’s unique, amazing, and comforting promises for our lives. Why should we be anxious for anything? More than a mother, God loves us. His grace is sufficient for us.

APPLICATION:  God knows everything better than I do. Instead of worrying, I can trust God and his plan, for he loves me. Since Jesus laid down his life for me, I know what love is. I should express my love for God with actions and in truth, not just in words and speech (1 Jn.3:16-18).

PRAYER: Father God, thank you for your great love for me. Lord, you will never leave me nor forsake me. Help me to remain in your love every day. Amen.

வேத வசனம்: கலாத்தியர் 1: 6. உங்களைக் கிறிஸ்துவின் கிருபையினாலே அழைத்தவரை நீங்கள் இவ்வளவு சீக்கிரமாய் விட்டு, வேறொரு சுவிசேஷத்திற்குத் திரும்புகிறதைப்பற்றி நான் ஆச்சரியப்படுகிறேன்;
7. வேறொரு சுவிசேஷம் இல்லையே; சிலர் உங்களைக் கலகப்படுத்தி, கிறிஸ்துவினுடைய சுவிசேஷத்தைப் புரட்ட மனதாயிருக்கிறார்களேயல்லாமல் வேறல்ல.

கவனித்தல்:   நம்மிடம் பழகியவர்கள் மற்றவர்களின் பொய்யான பரப்புரையை நம்பி நம்மை விட்டு பிரிந்து செல்லும்போது, பொய்யான புனைவுகளை உண்மை என்று கேள்வியே கேட்காமல் இவர்கள் எப்படி ஏற்றுக் கொண்டார்கள் என்று நாம் ஆச்சரியமடைந்து யோசிக்கிறோம். அப்படிப்பட்ட தருணங்களில், நம் ஆச்சரியமானது நம் ஏமாற்றம், அதிருப்தி, மற்றும் கோபத்தை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறதாக இருக்கும். நம் நண்பர்களை தவறாக வழிநடத்தியவர்களிடம் கோபமடைவதைக் காட்டிலும் அதிகமாக நாம் நம்மை விட்டு பிரிந்து செல்லும் நண்பர்கள் மேல் அதிக கோபமடைவோம். மோசேயின் நியாயப்பிரமாணம் மற்றும் கிரியைகளுக்கு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுத்த நியாயப்பிரமாணப் பிரசங்கிகளின் பொய்யான நற்செய்தியை உடனே ஏற்றுக் கொண்ட கலாத்தியர்களுக்கு எதிரான ஆச்சரியத்தையும், வருத்தத்தையும் பவுலின் வார்த்தைகள் வெளிப்படுத்துகின்றன. பவுல் மிகவும் உறுதியாக அந்த பொய்யான சுவிசேஷத்தைக் கண்டித்து, இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் நற்செய்தியைத் தவிர வேறு எந்த நற்செய்தியும் கிடையாது என அவர்களிடம் கூறினார். கிறிஸ்துவின் சுவிசேஷமானது நாம் தேவ கிருபையில் வாழும்படி நம்மைப் பலப்படுத்துகிறது.

மறுபுறம், மனிதர்களால் உண்டாக்கப்பட்ட சுவிசேஷமானது தேவனுடைய தயவைப் பெறுவதற்கு கிரியைகளைச் செய்ய வேண்டும் என நம்மைக் கட்டாயப்படுத்துகிறது. பொய்யான சுவிசேஷத்தைப் பிரசங்கித்தவர்கள் தங்களுடைய சொந்த கருத்துக்கள் மற்றும் எண்ணங்களை சேர்த்து கிறிஸ்துவின் சுவிசேஷத்தை தவறாக திரித்துக் காட்ட முயற்சி செய்திருக்க வேண்டும். அவர்கள் கலாத்தியரின் கவனத்தை கிறிஸ்துவிடம் இருந்து திசைதிருப்பி மனிதமுயற்சிகளின் பால் திருப்ப முயன்றனர். நம் கிரியைகளினால் நாம் இரட்சிப்பைப் பெறுகிறோம் என்று வேதம் சொல்லவே இல்லை. ”கிருபையினாலே விசுவாசத்தைக்கொண்டு இரட்சிக்கப்பட்டீர்கள்; இது உங்களால் உண்டானதல்ல, இது தேவனுடைய ஈவு; ஒருவரும் பெருமைபாராட்டாதபடிக்கு இது கிரியைகளினால் உண்டானதல்ல” (எபே.2:8-9) என்று வேதம் கூறுகிறது. ”மனுஷன் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின் கிரியைகளில்லாமல் விசுவாசத்தினாலேயே நீதிமானாக்கப்படுகிறான்” என்று ரோமர் 3:28ல் பவுல் எழுதுகிறார். இயேசுவிடம் இருந்து நம் கவனத்தைத் திருப்பும் சுவிசேஷமானது சுவிசேஷத்திற்கு எதிரானது ஆகும். அல்லது, பவுல் சொல்வது போல, அது சுவிசேஷமே அல்ல. அது குழப்பத்தைத் தவிர வேறெதையும் உண்டாக்குவதில்லை. ”சபையில் மிகவும் அதிகமாக பிரச்சனையை உண்டாக்குகிறவர்கள் (இப்பொழுதும் எப்பொழுதும்) வெளியே இருந்து கொண்டு சபையை எதிர்க்கிறவர்களோ, கேலி செய்கிறவர்களோ, மற்றும் உபத்திரவப் படுத்துகிறவர்களோ அல்ல. மாறாக, உள்ளேயே இருந்து கொண்டு சுவிசேஷத்தை மாற்ற முயற்சி செய்கிறவர்கள் தான் அதிக பிரச்சனையை உண்டாக்குகிறார்கள்” என்று ஜான் ஸ்டார் எச்சரிக்கிறார். கிறிஸ்து இல்லாத சுவிசேஷம், சிலுவை இல்லாத சுவிசேஷம் என்பது எதிரெதிர் அர்த்தம் உடைய இரண்டு வார்த்தைகள் சேர்ந்த ஒரு முரண் தொடை(oxymoron), அதாவது அது நல்ல செய்தியே அல்ல. ஆகவே, இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவிடம் இருந்து நம்மைப் பிரிக்கும் எந்த போதனையையும் நாம் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளாமல் நிராகரிக்க வேண்டும். வானத்தில் இருந்து ஒரு தேவ தூதனே வந்து அல்லது  ஒரு பிரபலமான தேவ ஊழியரே வந்து வேறொரு நற்செய்தியைப் பிரசங்கித்தாலும் கூட, நாம் அவர்களைக் கண்டித்து, அவர்களின் செய்தியை ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளக் கூடாது.

பயன்பாடு: கிறிஸ்துவின் சுவிசேஷமானது அதை விசுவாசிக்கிற எவருக்கும் இரட்சிப்பு உண்டாவதற்கு தேவ பெலனாக இருக்கிறது (ரோமர் 1:16). கிறிஸ்துவின் கிருபையில் வாழ தேவன் என்னை அழைத்திருக்கிறார். கிறிஸ்துவை விட்டு என்னைப் பிரிக்கும் எதையும் நான் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ள மாட்டேன். நான் இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் சுவிசேஷத்தை எப்பொழுதும் உறுதியாகப் பற்றிக் கொள்வேன். மக்களை விடுதலையாக்கும் சுவிசேஷத்தைப் பிரசங்கித்து, அதற்காக வாழ்வேன்.

The Gospel of Christ vs. the gospel of man

 READ: Isaiah 47,48; Psalms 86; Galatians 1

SCRIPTURE: Galatians 1: 6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.

OBSERVATION: When someone we know well deserts us by believing the false propagation of other people, we become surprised and wonder how they uncritically accepted such false stories as true. In such times, our surprise would reflect our disappointment, dissatisfaction, and anger. We will be angrier with those who depart from us than we do against those who misled our friends. Paul’s words express his astonishment and upset against Galatians, who quickly accepted Judaizer’s false gospel that emphasized the law of Moses and works. Paul sternly condemned the false gospel and told them that there is no other Gospel other than the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Gospel of Christ enables us to live in the grace of God.

On the other hand, human-made gospel compels us to do works to win God’s favor. Those who preached the false gospel must have tried to distort the Gospel of Christ by adding their own opinions and thoughts. They attempted to turn the attention of Galatians from Christ to human efforts. The Bible never says that we receive God’s salvation through our works. It says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Eph.2:8-9). In Romans 3:28, Paul writes, “we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.” A gospel that turns our focus away from Jesus is an anti-gospel or, as Paul says, “no gospel at all.” It will cause nothing but confusion. John Stott warns, “the church’s greatest troublemakers (now as then) are not those outside who oppose, ridicule and persecute it, but those inside who try to change the gospel.” A gospel without Christ, without the cross, is an oxymoron, i.e., not good news at all. Therefore, we must reject any teaching that separates us from Jesus Christ. Even if “an angel from heaven” or a famous preacher preaches another gospel, we should denounce them and reject their message.

APPLICATION: The Gospel of Christ is “the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes” (Rom.1:16). God has called me to live in the grace of Christ. I will not accept anything that separates me from Christ. I will always hold the Gospel of Jesus Christ firmly. I will proclaim the Gospel that liberates people and live for it.

PRAYER: Father God, thank you for your gift of salvation. I receive it by grace, through faith. Lord, help me to live in the grace of Christ. Holy Spirit, strengthen me   to preach the Gospel fearlessly. Amen.

உங்களை நீங்களே சோதித்து அறியுங்கள்

வேத வசனம்: 2 கொரிந்தியர் 13: 5. நீங்கள் விசுவாசமுள்ளவர்களோவென்று உங்களை நீங்களே சோதித்து அறியுங்கள்; உங்களை நீங்களே பரீட்சித்துப்பாருங்கள். இயேசுகிறிஸ்து உங்களுக்குள் இருக்கிறாரென்று உங்களை நீங்களே அறியீர்களா? நீங்கள் பரீட்சைக்கு நில்லாதவர்களாயிருந்தால் அறியீர்கள்.

கவனித்தல்: “உன்னை அறிந்து கொள்” என்பது பண்டைய கிரேக்க பழமொழிகளில் ஒன்று ஆகும். இதன் பொருள் என்னவெனில், உன்னைப் பற்றி நீ சரியாகப் புரிந்து கொண்டால்தான் நீ மற்றவர்களைப் புரிந்து கொள்ள முடியும் என்பதாகும்.  பொதுவாக, ஜனங்கள் தங்களைத் திருத்திக் கொண்டு, தீர்ப்பிடுவதை விட அதிகமாக மற்றவர்களைக் குறை கூறி, திருத்த ஆர்வமுடையவர்களாக இருக்கிறார்கள். கிறிஸ்தவர்களும் இந்த தவறை அடிக்கடி செய்கிறார்கள். ”இதோ, உன் கண்ணில் உத்திரம் இருக்கையில் உன் சகோதரனை நோக்கி: நான் உன் கண்ணிலிருக்கும் துரும்பை எடுத்துப்போடட்டும் என்று நீ சொல்வதெப்படி?” என்று நம் ஆண்டவர் இயேசு கேட்டார் (மத்.7:4). தற்பரிசோதனை அல்லது சுய-பரிசோதனை பற்றி ஜனங்கள் பல்வேறு கருத்துக்களை உடையவர்களாக இருக்கிறார்கள். சிலர் தங்களுடைய செய்களைக் குறித்து அதிக குறை காண்பவர்களாக மாறி, தங்கள் வாழ்க்கையை சீரழித்துக் கொள்கிறார்கள்.  கிறிஸ்தவ தற்பரிசோதனை என்பது மற்றவைகளில் இருந்து வேறுபட்டது ஆகும். ஒரு கிறிஸ்தவன் செய்யும் சுய-பரிசோதனையானது அவருடைய ஆவிக்குரிய பக்திவிருத்தி, பாவ-சுத்திகரிப்பு, மற்றும் கர்த்தருடனான அவருடைய அனுதின கிறிஸ்தவ வாழ்க்கைக்கு உதவிகரமானதாக இருக்கும். கொரிந்தியருக்கு எழுதின இரண்டாவது நிருபத்தில், பவுல் தனக்கு எதிரான குற்றச்சாட்டுகளுக்கு  பதில் கூறுவதை நாம் காண்கிறோம். இங்கே, கொரிந்து விசுவாசிகள் மீது குற்றம் சாட்டுவதற்குப் பதிலாக, அவர்கள் தங்களைத் தாங்களே சோதித்து அறியவேண்டும் என பவுல் சவால் விடுக்கிறார்.

2 கொரிந்தியர் 3:5க்கு மூன்று வித்தியாசமான விளக்கங்கள் சொல்லப்படுகிறது: முதலாவதாக, கொரிந்து விசுவாசிகள் உண்மையிலேயே கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் தானா, இரட்சிப்பின் அனுபவம் உடையவர்களா என்று சோதித்து அறியும்படி பவுல் கொரிந்து சபை விசுவாசிகளிடம் கேட்கிறார். இரண்டாவது விளக்கம் என்னவெனில், பவுல் விசுவாசிகளின் இரட்சிப்பின் அனுபவம் பற்றிக் கேள்வி எழுப்பவில்லை. மாறாக கிறிஸ்துக்குள்ளான ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கையை சோதித்து அறியுமடி அவர்களை அழைக்கிறார். மூன்றாவதாக, கொரிந்து சபையில் இருந்த சில கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் பவுல் மீது குற்றம் சாட்டி சோதித்தனர். இப்பொழுது, அவர்கள் தங்களை சோதித்து அறியும்படி பவுல் அழைக்கிறார். எந்த விளக்கமாக இருந்தாலும், பவுல் இரண்டு கேள்விகளைக் கேட்கிறார்: நீங்கள் விசுவாசம் உள்ளவர்களா? கிறிஸ்து உங்களில் வாழ்கிறாரா? வேறு வார்த்தைகளில் சொல்வதானால், நீங்கள் கிறிஸ்துவுக்குள் இருக்கிறீர்களா? தங்களைக் கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் என்று சொல்லிக்கொள்பவர்கள் அனேகர் இருக்கலாம். ஆனால், அவர்கள் விசுவாசம் இல்லாதவர்கள் எனில், கிறிஸ்து அவர்களுக்குள் இல்லை எனில், அவர்கள் கிறிஸ்தவர்களாக முடியாது.  நாம் விசுவாசத்தினால் நீதிமானாக்கப்படுகிறோம் என்றும், ”விசுவாசத்தினாலே வராத யாவும் பாவமே” என்றும் வேதம் சொல்கிறது (ரோமர்.14:23). உங்களில் இருக்கும் கிறிஸ்துவானவர் மகிமையின் நம்பிக்கை என்று கொலோசெயருக்கு பவுல் எழுதுகிறார் (கொலோ.1:27). நமக்குள் வந்து வாசம் செய்வேன் என்று இயேசு நமக்கு வாக்குப்பண்ணி இருக்கிறார் (யோவான் 6:56; 14:23). கிறிஸ்து நமக்குள் வாழும்போது, நாம் உயிருள்ள கிறிஸ்தவர்களாக மாறுகிறோம். இல்லையேல் நாம் பெயர்க் கிறிஸ்தவர்களாகவே இருப்போம்.  ஆகவே, கர்த்தர் நம்மை வழிநடத்துகிறபடி தற்பரிசோதனைக் கேள்விகளுடன் நாம் நம்மை நாமே பரிசோதித்துப் பார்க்க வேண்டும். ”பரிசோதித்துப் பார்க்க முடியாத விசுவாசம் நம்பமுடியாதாக இருக்கும்”  என்று ஜான் மேக்ஸ்வெல் என்ற தேவ மனிதர் கூறுகிறார். கிறிஸ்தவர்களாகிய நாம் கிறிஸ்துவுக்குள் உயிருள்ள கிறிஸ்தவ வாழ்க்கையை வாழ அடிக்கடி தற்பரிசோதனை செய்து கொள்வது அவசியம் ஆகும். ”நாம் நம்முடைய வழிகளைச் சோதித்து ஆராய்ந்து, கர்த்தரிடத்தில் திரும்பக்கடவோம்” (புலம்.3:40).

பயன்பாடு:  குறிப்பிட்ட இடைவெளியில் செய்யப்படும் முறையான சரீர ஆரோக்கிய பரிசோதனையானது நம் சரீரத்தை ஆரோக்கியமாக வைத்திருக்க உதவுகிறது. அதுபோல, என் ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்க்கைக்கு அவ்வப்போது தற்பரிசோதனை செய்து கொள்வது நல்லது ஆகும். ”விசுவாசத்தினாலே நீதிமான் பிழைப்பான்” என்று வேதம் சொல்கிறது (ஆபகூக் 2:4; ரோமர் 1:17). நான் தரிசித்து நடவாமல் விசுவாசித்து நடக்கிறேன். ”கிறிஸ்துவுடனேகூடச் சிலுவையிலறையப்பட்டேன்; ஆயினும், பிழைத்திருக்கிறேன்; இனி நான் அல்ல, கிறிஸ்துவே எனக்குள் பிழைத்திருக்கிறார்; நான் இப்பொழுது மாம்சத்தில் பிழைத்திருக்கிறதோ, என்னில் அன்புகூர்ந்து எனக்காகத் தம்மைத்தாமே ஒப்புக்கொடுத்த தேவனுடைய குமாரனைப்பற்றும் விசுவாசத்தினாலே பிழைத்திருக்கிறேன்” (கலா.2:20).  

ஜெபம்:  பிதா, குமாரன், பரிசுத்த ஆவியாகிய தெய்வமே, எனக்குள் வாசம் செய்வதற்காக நன்றி. ”தேவனே, என்னை ஆராய்ந்து, என் இருதயத்தை அறிந்துகொள்ளும்; என்னைச் சோதித்து, என் சிந்தனைகளை அறிந்துகொள்ளும்.” பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரே, என் வாழ்க்கையைப் பரிசோதித்து அறியவும், விசுவாசமுள்ளவனாக கிறிஸ்துவுடன் வாழ எனக்கு உதவியருளும். ஆமென்.

Test yourselves

READ: Isaiah 45,46; Psalms 85; 2 Corinthians 13

SCRIPTURE: 2 Corinthians 13: 5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?

OBSERVATION:  “Know thyself” is a famous ancient Greek proverb that means you must understand yourself to understand others.  In general, people are interested in judging and correcting others than themselves. Christians also make this mistake very often. Our Lord Jesus asked, “How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?” (Mt.7:4). People have different opinions on self-introspection. Some individuals become more critical about their actions and ruin their lives. Christian self-introspection is different from others. Here we do the testing by the criteria of God’s word and evaluate our lives accordingly. A Christian’s self-test would be helpful for his spiritual edification, purification from sins, and his daily walk with the Lord. In his second epistle to Corinthians, we read Paul’s responses to some allegations against him. Here, instead of making any accusations against the Corinth believers, Paul challenges them to examine themselves.

There are three different interpretations attributed to 2 Cor.13:5: First, Paul asks the Corinth Church believers to check whether they are really Christians and have salvation experience. The second interpretation is,  Paul does not doubt the salvation experience of the believers but calls them to examine their spiritual life in Christ. Thirdly, some Christians in the Corinth Church questioned apostle Paul. Now, Paul calls them to test themselves. In any case, Paul asks two questions: are you in the faith? Does Christ live in you? In other words, are you in Christ? There may be many people who say that they are Christians. But, if they are not in the faith, if Christ does not live in them, they cannot be Christians. The bible says that we are justified by faith;  “everything that does not come from faith is sin” (Rom.14:23). To Colossians, Paul writes, “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Col.1:27). Jesus promised us to live in us (Jn.6:56; 14:23). When Christ lives in us, we become active Christians. Otherwise, we will be nominal Christians. So, we need to examine and test ourselves with self-introspective questions as the Lord leads us. John C. Maxwell says, “A faith that cannot be tested cannot be trusted!” As Christians, we need to have a periodical self-examination to keep our Christian lives alive in Christ. “Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord (Lam.3:40).

APPLICATION: A periodical health check-up is good to keep our body healthy. Likewise, a periodical self-introspection is good for my spiritual life. The Bible says, “The righteous will live by faith” (Hab.2:4; Rom.1:17). I walk by faith, not by sight. “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Gal.2:20).

PRAYER: God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, thank you for living in me. “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.” Holy Spirit, help me to examine my life, live in the faith and with Christ forever. Amen.
