ஆசீர்வாதம் அல்லது சாபம் - உங்கள் விருப்பம்!

வாசிக்க: உபாகமம் 27, 28; சங்கீதம் 90, லூக்கா 1:39-80

வேதவசனம்: உபாகமம் 27:9. பின்னும் மோசே, லேவியராகிய ஆசாரியர்களும்கூட இருக்கையில், இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லாரையும் நோக்கி: இஸ்ரவேலே, கவனித்துக் கேள்; இந்நாளிலே உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு ஜனமானாய்.
10. ஆகையால் நீ உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய சத்தத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்து, இன்று நான் உனக்கு விதிக்கிற அவருடைய கற்பனைகளின்படியும் அவருடைய கட்டளைகளின்படியும் செய்வாயாக என்று சொன்னான்.

கவனித்தல்: உபாகமம் 27, 28ம் அதிகாரங்களில் தேவனுக்கும், அவருடைய கற்பனைகளுக்கும் கீழ்ப்படிதலின் அடிப்படையில் இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் மேல் வரும் ஆசீர்வாதங்கள் மற்றும் சாபங்கள் பற்றிய ஒரு பட்டியலை நாம் காண்கிறோம். இந்த இரண்டு அத்தியாயத்திலும் தேவனுடைய ஆசீர்வாதங்களை விட சாபங்களைப் பற்றிய வசனங்களே மிக அதிகமாக இருப்பதாக சிலர் நினைக்கிறார்கள். இந்த அத்தியாயங்களைப் படிக்கும்போது,  இங்கு சொல்லப்பட்டிருக்கிற ஆசீர்வாதங்கள் அல்லது சாபங்கள் முறையே கீழ்ப்படிதல் அல்லது கீழ்ப்படியாமையின் விளைவாக வருபவையாக இருக்கும் என்பதை புரிந்துகொள்கிறோம். இந்த அத்தியாயங்களில் சொல்லப்பட்டிருக்கிற ஆசீர்வாதங்கள் மற்றும் சாபங்கள் அனைத்தும் உபாகமம் 27:10 ல் சொல்லப்பட்டிருக்கிற கீழ்ப்படிதலுடன் தொடர்புடையது என்பதை நாம் கண்டறிய முடியும். பல ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பே, இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் தேவனுடைய ஜனங்களாகி விட்டனர் என்பது உண்மைதான் என்றாலும்,  “இந்நாளிலே உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு ஜனமானாய்” என்றும், ”இன்று ....அவருடைய கட்டளைகளின்படியும் செய்வாயாக” என்றும் வருகிறதை நாம் காண்கிறோம். இந்த நிகழ்வு உடன்படிக்கையின் புதுப்பித்த மற்றும் இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் தேவன் மீது கொண்டிருந்த அர்ப்பணிப்பை திரும்பவும் உறுதிப்படுத்திக் கொண்ட ஒரு நிகழ்வாக இருந்திருக்க வேண்டும். இந்த உலகத்தின் இரைச்சலான சூழலில், ஆண்டவர் நம்மிடம் என்ன எதிர்பார்க்கிறார் என்பதை நாம் கேட்க முடியாமல் போகலாம். என் ஆத்துமாவே, அமைதலாக அமர்ந்திருந்து, ஆண்டவர் இன்று உன்னிடம் என்ன பேசுகிறார் என்பதைக் கவனித்துக் கேள். 

 

பயன்பாடு: கர்த்தருக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிதல் மற்றும் அவருடைய கற்பனைகளின் படி வாழ்தல் ஆகியவை எப்பொழுதுமே பரலோக மற்றும் பூமிக்குரிய ஆசீர்வாதங்களை கொண்டுவருகிறது. நான் என்ன செய்கிறேன் என்பது தான் என் வாழ்வின் நான் எதைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்வேன் என்பதை தீர்மானிக்கிறது. நான் தேவனுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்தால், நான் என் வாழ்வில் எல்லா ஆசீர்வாதங்களையும் காண்பேன். ஆயினும், நான் தேவனுக்குச் சொந்தமானவன் என்பதே மிகப்பெரிய ஆசீர்வாதம் ஆகும். என் தேவனுடைய ஜனங்களில் ஒருவராக நான் இருக்கிறேன். அனுதினமும் நான் இதை எனக்கு நினைவுபடுத்திக் கொண்டு, இன்று நான் எந்தெந்த பகுதிகளில் கீழ்ப்படிதலுள்ளவராக இருக்க வேண்டும் என தேவன் விரும்புகிறார் என்பதை அறிந்து கொள்ள நான் அவரை நோக்கிப் பார்க்க வேண்டும். தேவனுடைய பிள்ளைகளில் ஒருவராகிய நான் அவருக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்து, என் வாழ்வில் அனுதினமும் அவருடைய கற்பனைகளைப் பின்பற்றுவேன். இதுவே என் விருப்பம்! 

 

ஜெபம்:  பிதாவாகிய தேவனே, என்னை நினைவுகூர்ந்து, அனுதினமும் உம் அன்பின் உறவை புதுப்பித்துக் கொண்டிருப்பதற்காக நன்றி. என் அனுதின வாழ்வில் அக்கறை உள்ளவராக நீர் இருக்கிறீர். இன்று நான் உமக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியவும், உம் கற்பனைகளைப் பின்பற்றவும் உதவி செய்யும். ஆமென்.

Blessing or curse - your choice!

READ: Deuteronomy 27, 28; Psalm 90; Luke 1:39-80

SCRIPTURE: Deuteronomy 27: 9 Then Moses and the Levitical priests said to all Israel, “Be silent, Israel, and listen! You have now become the people of the Lord your God.
10 Obey the Lord your God and follow his commands and decrees that I give you today.”

OBSERVATION: In Deuteronomy 27, 28, we see a list of blessings and curses that would come upon the Israelites based on their obedience to the Lord and his commands. Some people think that these two chapters give more verses on curses than of God's blessings. When we read these chapters we understand that these blessings or curses will be the results of either obedience or disobedience respectively. When we look at the sentences that start with "If", we understand how it is connected with the command of God  that we read in Deut.27:10.  Although the Israelites became the people of God long time ago, here we read that "You have now become the people of the Lord....Obey the Lord.....today." This event must had been a renewal of the covenant and a reaffirmation of Israelites' commitment to the Lord. In the loud and noisy environment of the world, we may not be able to hear what the Lord expects from us. O my soul, be silent and listen what the Lord speaks to you today. 

APPLICATION: Obedience to the Lord and following his commands always bring forth all the blessings of the earth and of the heaven. What I do decides what I would get in my life! If I obey God, I would  see all the blessings in my life. However, the greatest blessing is that I belong to God. I am one among the people of the Lord my God. Every day I need to remind this to myself and to look God to know what are the areas he expects me to obey him today. As a child of God, I choose to obey him and to follow his commands every day of my life.  This is my choice! 

PRAYER: Father God, thank you for remembering me and renewing your loving relationship everyday. You are concerned about my day to day life. Help me to obey and to follow your commands today. Amen.

லூக்கா எழுதிய தனித்துவமான அறிமுக உரை

வாசிக்க: உபாகமம் 25, 26; சங்கீதம் 89, லூக்கா 1: 1-38

வேதவசனம்: லூக்கா 1: 1. மகா கனம்பொருந்திய தெயோப்பிலுவே, நாங்கள் முழுநிச்சயமாய் நம்புகிற சங்கதிகளை,
2. ஆரம்பமுதல் கண்ணாரக்கண்டு வசனத்தைப் போதித்தவர்கள் எங்களுக்கு ஒப்புவித்தபடியே அவைகளைக் குறித்துச் சரித்திரம் எழுத அநேகம்பேர் ஏற்பட்டபடியினால்,
3. ஆதிமுதல் எல்லாவற்றையும் திட்டமாய் விசாரித்தறிந்த நானும் உமக்கு உபதேசிக்கப்பட்ட விசேஷங்களின் நிச்சயத்தை நீர் அறியவேண்டுமென்று,
4. அவைகளை ஒழுங்காய் உமக்கு எழுதுவது எனக்கு நலமாய்த் தோன்றிற்று.

கவனித்தல்:  எந்தவொரு சட்ட ரீதியிலான நீதிமன்றத்திலும் செல்லுபடியாகக் கூடிய உறுதியான ஆதாரமாக இருக்கக் கூடிய சுருக்கமான ஆனால் மிகவும் வலிமையான ஒரு அறிமுகத்தை லூக்கா இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் வாழ்க்கையைப் பற்றிச் சொல்கிற நற்செய்தி நூலுக்குத் தருகிறார். நாம் இங்கு காண்கிறது போல, லூக்கா தெயோப்பிலுவுக்கு எழுதுகிறார். இந்த தெயோப்பிலு யார் என்பது பற்றி பல்வேறு மாறுபட்ட கருத்துகள் காணப்படுகின்றன. கிரேக்க மொழியில், தெயோப்பிலு என்ற வார்த்தைக்கு “தேவனுடைய சினேகிதர்”, அல்லது “தேவனை நேசிக்கும் ஒருவர்”, அல்லது “தேவனால் நேசிக்கப்படுகிற ஒருவர்” என்று அர்த்தம் கொள்ளலாம். நற்செய்தி நூல் நமக்காகவே எழுதப்பட்டது என்பதில் எந்த சந்தேகமும் இல்லை. ஆனால் என்ன நோக்கத்திற்காக எழுதப்பட்டது? உங்களுக்கு போதிக்கப்பட்டவைகளைக் குறித்த நிச்சயத்தை நீங்கள் அறிவதற்காக என லூக்கா மிகவும் சுருக்கமாகச் சொல்கிறார். குறிப்பிடப்பட்ட அந்த நோக்கத்திற்காக, அவர்தாமே “திட்டமாய் விசாரித்தறிந்த” அல்லது நன்றாக பரிசோதித்தறிந்த ஒரு முறையான சரித்திரத்தை நமக்குத் தருகிறார். மிகவும் முக்கியமாக, லூக்கா பெற்ற விவரங்கள் அனைத்தும் ”கண்ணாரக்கண்டு வசனத்தைப் போதித்தவர்கள்” அல்லது நேரடி சாட்சிகளிடம் இருந்து பெற்றவை ஆகும். மற்ற புராதன நூல்களைப் போல அல்லாது, இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவைப் பற்றிய நற்செய்தி நூல் அதில் சொல்லப்பட்ட நிகழ்வுகள் நடந்து ஒரு சில பத்தாண்டுகளுக்குப் பின் ஒரு குறுகிய கால இடைவெளியில் எழுதப்பட்டது ஆகும். உதாரணமாக, சமீபத்தில் வாழ்ந்த ஒருவரைப் பற்றி யாராவது ஒரு கற்பனையான (பொய்யான தகவல் உள்ள) புத்தகத்தை எழுதினால் என்ன நடக்கும் என்று கற்பனை செய்து பாருங்கள். சொல்லப்பட்ட நபரின் தவறான சித்தரிப்பு குறித்து பேச அவரது நண்பர்கள் மற்றும் எதிரிகள் இருவரும் ஆசிரியருக்கு எதிராக வருவார்கள் அல்லவா! அனைத்து மனிதர்களுக்கும் இரட்சகரான தனித்துவமிக்க இயேசுவின் வாழ்க்கை வரலாற்றை லூக்கா தருகிறார். இயேசுவைப் பற்றி நற்செய்தி நூல் சொல்பவைகளை குறித்து நாம் நம்பிக்கையுடனும் உறுதியுடனும் இருக்க முடியும்.

பயன்பாடு:  நற்செய்தி நூலை நான் வாசிக்கும்போது, 2000 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு வாழ்ந்த ஒருவரின் வாழ்க்கை வரலாறை மட்டும் நான் வாசிக்கவில்லை. அது உலக இரட்சகரைப் பற்றிய நல்ல செய்தியைத் தருகிற மிகவும் கவனமாக எழுதப்பட்ட ஒரு ஆவணம் ஆகும். இது எனக்காகவும் என் ஆன்மீகத் தேவைகளுக்காகவும் எழுதப்பட்ட ஒரு புத்தகம் ஆகும். அப்படி எனில், நான் வேதாகமத்திற்கு எவ்வளவு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுக்க வேண்டும். என் முழு கவனத்தையும் நான் அதற்குக் கொடுக்க வேண்டும். இயேசுவின் வார்த்தைகள் மூலமாக தேவன் என்னுடன் என்ன பேச விரும்புகிறார் என்பதை அறிந்து கொள்வதற்காக நான் அனுதினமும் மிக கவனமாக வேதம் வாசிப்பேன்.

ஜெபம்:  தந்தையாகிய தெய்வமே, இந்த உலகத்தை இரட்சிக்க உம் குமாரன் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவை அனுப்பியதற்காக நன்றி. இந்த உலகக் கவலையிலிருந்து என்னை விடுவித்து, உம்முடன் நித்திய வாழ்வை வாழ ஆயத்தப்படுத்துகிற நற்செய்திக்காக நன்றி. நான் இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவைப் பற்றிய நற்செய்தியை வாசிக்கும் போது, அவரைப் போல வாழவும் எனக்கு உதவும். ஆமென்.

A unique prologue of Luke

READ: Deuteronomy 25, 26; Psalm 89; Luke 1:1-38

SCRIPTURE: Luke 1:1 Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us,
2 just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word.
3 With this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus,
4 so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.

OBSERVATION: Luke gives a brief yet powerful introduction to the Gospel of Jesus which could stand as a valid evidence in any court of law. As we see here, Luke writes to Theophilus. There are divergent opinions about who this Theophilus was. In Greek, the word  "Theophilus" may refer "a friend of God", or "one who loves God", or "one who loved by God." Undoubtedly, the Gospel was written for us. But for what purpose? Luke explains precisely, "that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught." To achieve the stated purpose, he gives "an orderly account" that was "carefully investigated" by himself. Most importantly, Luke's sources of information were "eye witnesses and servants of the word."  The Gospel of Jesus was written shortly a few decades after the stated events, unlike any other ancient texts. For example,  imagine  that what would happen if somebody writes a fictitious book about a person who lived recently. His friends and enemies both would come against the author concerning the wrong depiction of the stated person. Isn't it! Luke presents the life history or biography of the unique person Jesus who is the savior of all the human beings. We can be sure and confident about what the Gospel says about Jesus!

APPLICATION: When I read the Gospel, I am not just reading the life story of a person who lived 2000 years ago. It is a carefully written document that presents the good news about the savior of the world. It is something that was written for me and for my spiritual needs. If so, how much care should I give to the Bible! It deserves my undivided attention. Everyday, I will read carefully to understand what God wants to speak through Jesus' words. 

PRAYER: Father God, thank you for sending your Son Jesus Christ to save the world. Thank you for the Gospel that liberates me from the worries of this life and prepares me to live with you eternally. As I read the good news of Jesus, help me to live like him as well. Amen.

ஒரு தெய்வீக கட்டளை

வேதவசனம்: மாற்கு 16: 15. பின்பு, அவர் (இயேசு) அவர்களை (தன் சீடர்களை) நோக்கி: நீங்கள் உலகமெங்கும் போய், சர்வ சிருஷ்டிக்கும் சுவிசேஷத்தைப் பிரசங்கியுங்கள்...
20. அவர்கள்(இயேசுவின் சீடர்கள்) புறப்பட்டுப்போய், எங்கும் பிரசங்கம்பண்ணினார்கள். கர்த்தர் அவர்களுடனேகூடக் கிரியையை நடப்பித்து, அவர்களால் நடந்த அடையாளங்களினாலே வசனத்தை உறுதிப்படுத்தினார். ஆமென்.

கவனித்தல்: பலவீனமான, கல்வியறிவற்ற பதினொரு பேர் அடங்கிய ஒரு குழுவை முழு உலகத்தையும் சென்றடைய வேண்டிய ஒரு வேலைக்காக பணிக்கு அமர்த்துவது என்பது நவீன கால மனிதனுக்கு அபத்தமானதாக தோன்றும். அது செய்து முடிக்கப்படவே முடியாத ஒரு வேலையாக இருக்கும் என்று அவன் நினைக்கக் கூடும். ஆனால், இயேசுவோ நடைமுறையில் அசாத்தியமானவைகளை சாத்தியப்படுத்துகிறவராகவே (செய்யப்பட முடியாதவைகளை செய்கிறவராக) எப்போதும் இருக்கிறார். ஒரு பெரிய கூட்டத்திற்கு அற்புத உணவு அளிப்பதாக இருந்தாலும் சரி, அல்லது இதுவரை நடந்திராத ஒரு அற்புதமாக இருந்தாலும் சரி, அவர் நிகழ சாத்தியமானதாக மாற்றுகிறார். அனேகரின் தேவைகளைத் தீர்ப்பதற்கு இருக்கின்ற சொற்ப ஆதாரங்களை பயன்படுத்துவது எப்படி என்பதை இயேசு அறிந்திருக்கின்றார். ஜனங்களைச் சந்திப்பதில் இயேசு எவ்விதப் பாகுபாடும் காட்டுவதில்லை. அவர் தன் சீடர்களிடம் “உலகமெங்கும்”, “சர்வ சிருஷ்டி” களிடமும் செல்ல வேண்டும் என சொன்னார். அனைவரும் நற்செய்தியைக் கேட்கவேண்டியதாக இருக்கிறது. ஆனால், அது சாத்தியமானது தானா? எப்படி நடைபெறும்? இயேசு பரமேறிச் சென்ற பின், இயேசுவின் சீடர்கள் என்ன செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று அவர் சொன்னாரோ அதையே செய்தார்கள். அவர்கள் நற்செய்தியை பிரசங்கித்த போது, ஆண்டவர் ”அவர்களுடனே கூட கிரியை நடப்பித்து,” அற்புத அடையாளங்களினாலே தம் வசனத்தை உறுதிப்படுத்தினார். அவர்கள் இயேசுவின் வார்த்தைகளுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்த போது, அவர்கள் அதன் பலன்களைக் கண்டார்கள். நற்செய்தியைப் பிரசங்கிப்பது நம் பொறுப்பு; நற்செய்தியை நாம் பிரசங்கிக்கும்போது, கிறிஸ்து நம்முடன் இணைந்து செயல்படுகிறார் என்பது ஒரு மாபெரும் பாக்கியம்.

பயன்பாடு:  என் பலவீனங்களோ, தகுதிகளோ தேவன் என்னைப் பயன்படுத்துவதற்கு தடையாக இருக்க முடியாது. நான் அவருடைய தெய்வீக கட்டளையை ஏற்றுக் கொள்கிறேனா, இல்லையா என்பதுதான் காரியம். அப்போஸ்தலனாகிய பவுல் தீமோத்தேயுவுக்கு சொல்வது போல, நான் நற்செய்தியைப் பிரசங்கிக்க எல்லா நேரங்களிலும் ஆயத்தத்துடன் கவனமாக இருக்க வேண்டும் (2 தீமோ.4:2). தேவையுள்ள ஜனங்களிடம் சென்று, தேவனின் வார்த்தையை நான் பிரசங்கிக்கும்போது, இயேசுகிறிஸ்து என்னுடனே கூட இருந்து நடப்பிக்கும் கிரியைகளை நான் காண முடியும்.  

ஜெபம்: பிதாவாகிய தேவனே, நற்செய்தியைப் பிரசங்கிக்க என்னை அழைப்பதற்காக நன்றி. என் குடும்பத்தினர், நண்பர்கள், உறவினர்கள், மற்றும் நற்செய்தியின் தேவை உள்ள அனைவருக்கும் இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவைப் பற்றிய நல்ல செய்தியை  பகிர்ந்து கொள்ள என்னைப் பயன்படுத்தும். இதைச் செய்வதற்கு, பரிசுத்த ஆவியின் பலத்தையும், ஞானத்தையும் எனக்குத் தாரும். ஆமென்.

A divine mandate

READ: Deuteronomy 23, 24; Psalm 88; Mark 16:9-20

SCRIPTURE: Mark 16: 15 He (Jesus) said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation....
20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

OBSERVATION: For a modern man, commissioning a group of eleven weak and uneducated men for a task that covers the whole world would appear as an absurdity.  He might think that it would become a mission impossible. But Jesus always makes the impossible possible. Whether it was feeding a large crowd, or a miracle that had never happened before, he did the same. Jesus knows how to use the little sources to meet the needs of many. Jesus shows no partiality in reaching out people.  He asked his disciples to go to "all the world", "to all creation." Every man needs to hear the Gospel. But how is it possible? After Jesus' ascension to heaven, his disciples did exactly what Jesus commanded them. When they preached the Gospel, the Lord "worked with them" and affirmed his word by the signs and wonders. When they obeyed the words of Jesus, they saw the results. Preaching the Gospel is our responsibility; when we preach the Gospel, it is a great privilege that Christ works with us.

APPLICATION: My weaknesses and qualifications cannot be a hinderance for God to use me. Whether I accept his divine mandate or not is the matter. As Paul says to Timothy, I must be ready to preach the Gospel all the times (2 Tim.4:2). When I go and preach God’s word to the people who are in need, I can see the accompanying works of the Lord Jesus. 

PRAYER: Father God, thank you for calling me to preach the Gospel. Use me to share the good news of Jesus with my family, friends, relatives, and all who need the Gospel. Give me the strength and wisdom of the Holy Spirit to do this. Amen!

அந்த பெரிய கல்லை அப்புறப்படுத்தியது யார்?

வாசிக்க: உபாகமம் 21, 22; சங்கீதம் 87,  மாற்கு 16:1-8

வேதவசனம்: மாற்கு 16:1. ஓய்வுநாளானபின்பு மகதலேனா மரியாளும், யாக்கோபின் தாயாகிய மரியாளும், சலோமே என்பவளும், அவருக்குச் சுகந்தவர்க்கமிடும்படி அவைகளை வாங்கிக்கொண்டு,
2. வாரத்தின் முதலாம்நாள் அதிகாலையிலே சூரியன் உதயமாகிறபோது கல்லறையினிடத்தில் வந்து,
3. கல்லறையின் வாசலிலிருக்கிற கல்லை நமக்காக எவன் புரட்டித்தள்ளுவான் என்று ஒருவரோடொருவர் சொல்லிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
4. அந்தக் கல் மிகவும் பெரிதாயிருந்தது; அவர்கள் ஏறிட்டுப்பார்க்கிறபோது, அது தள்ளப்பட்டிருக்கக் கண்டார்கள்.

கவனித்தல்: இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் கல்லறைக்குச் சென்ற அந்தப் பெண்கள் இயேசுவின் உயிர்த்தெழுதலை எதிர்பார்க்கவில்லை என்பது வெளிப்படையாக தெரிகிறது. அவர்கள் இயேசு மீது கொண்டிருந்த அன்பின் நிமித்தமாக, அதிகாலையிலேயே அவர்கள் கல்லறைக்கு சீக்கிரமாக வந்தார்கள். மாற்கு நற்செய்தி நூலில், எருசலேமுக்கு வருவதற்கு முன்பு இயேசு தன் பாடுகள் மற்றும் மரணம் குறித்து திரும்பத் திரும்ப சொன்னதை நாம் பார்க்கிறோம் (மாற்கு 8-10). ஆயினும், இயேசுவின் வார்த்தைகளை அவருடைய சீடர்கள் புரிந்து கொள்ளவில்லை (மாற்கு 9:32).  மூன்றாம் நாளில், இயேசுவின் உயிர்த்தெழுதலுக்கு அவருடைய சீடர்களும் இந்தப் பெண்களும் ஆயத்தமாயிருக்கவில்லை.  அவர்கள் கல்லறைக்குச் செல்லும் வழியில், “கல்லை நமக்காக எவன் புரட்டித்தள்ளுவான்” என்பதே அவர்களின் மிகப்பெரிய கேள்வியாக இருந்தது. அவர்கள் கல்லறையைச் சென்றடைந்த போது, அந்தக் கல் ஏற்கனவே புரட்டி தள்ளப்பட்டு விட்டது என்ற உண்மையைக் கண்டார்கள். அவர்கள் கண்டது, ஒரு காலியான கல்லறை. அதன் பின்னர், அவருடைய உயிர்த்தெழுதல் பற்றிய மாபெரும் செய்தியைக் கேட்டார்கள். இயேசுவின் கல்லறைக்கு முதலாவதாக வந்த இப்பெண்கள் இயேசுவின் உயிர்த்தெழுதலைப் பற்றிய முதல் சாட்சிகள் ஆனார்கள். பிராங்க் மோரிசன் என்பவர் எழுதிய “கல்லை அகற்றியது யார்?” என்ற புத்தகம் பற்றி நீங்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டிருக்கக் கூடும். அப்புத்தகமானது 1930 ஆம் ஆண்டு லெந்து காலத்தில் முதன் முதலாக அச்சிடப்பட்டது. ஒரு பத்திரிகை நிருபரான அவர் இயேசுவின் உயிர்த்தெழுதல் ஒரு கட்டுக்கதை என்று நிரூபிக்க விரும்பினார். ஆயினும், இயேசுவின் கடைசி ஏழு நாட்கள் பற்றிய தன் ஆய்வின் முடிவில், மோரிசன் உயிர்த்தெழுந்த இரட்சகர் இயேசுவின் விசுவாசி ஆக மாறி விட்டார். இன்றும் கூட, இயேசுவின் உயிர்த்தெழுதல் பற்றி சந்தேகப்படும் பலருக்கு அவர்களுடைய சந்தேகங்களைப் போக்க அவருடைய புத்தகம் உதவுகிறதுடன், இயேசுவின் உயிர்த்தெழுதல் என்ற வரலாற்று நம்பிக்கை மேல் விசுவாசம் வைக்க அவர்களை நடத்துகிறதாகவும் இருக்கிறது. “அவர் உயிர்த்தெழுந்தார்” என்பது உண்மை.

பயன்பாடு:  என் ஆண்டவரும் இரட்சகருமாகிய இயேசுவே தன் உயிர்த்தெழுதல் மூலம் மரணத்தை ஜெயித்தவராக இருக்கிறார். அவர் இன்றும் ஜீவிக்கிறார்! அவருடைய உயிர்த்தெழுதலை நம்பாமல் இருக்க எனக்கு ஒரு காரணம் கூட இல்லை. இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் மீது என் விசுவாசம் கட்டப்பட்டிருப்பதற்காக நான் மகிழ்ச்சியடைகிறேன். இயேசு இன்றும் அவநம்பிக்கை உடையவர்களின் இருதயங்களைத் தொட்டு தம்மில் விசுவாசமுடையவர்களாக மாற்றிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார். இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவில் உள்ள என் விசுவாசம் வீண் அல்ல. இயேசுவின் உயிர்த்தெழுதலில் “மரணம் ஜெயமாக விழுங்கப்பட்டது” என்பதால், தேவன் பாவத்தின் மீது எனக்கு வெற்றியைத் தருகிறார் (1 கொரி.15: 17, 56,57). அல்லேலூயா!

ஜெபம்: பிதாவாகிய தேவனே, இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் உயிர்த்தெழுதல் மூலமாக நீர் தருகிற நம்பிக்கை, பலம், மற்றும் மகிழ்ச்சிக்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. இயேசுவே, என் சொல்லிலும் செயலிலும் உம் உயிர்த்தெழுதலுக்கு பலமான சாட்சியாக இருக்க எனக்கு உதவும். ஆமென்.

Who moved the stone?

READ: Deuteronomy 21, 22; Psalm 87; Mark 16:1-8

SCRIPTURE: Mark 16: 1 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body.
2 Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb
3 and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?” |
4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away.

OBSERVATION: Apparently, the women who went to the tomb of Jesus Christ were not expecting Jesus' resurrection. Because of their love for Jesus, they hurriedly came to the tomb early in the morning. In the Gospel of Mark, we see that Jesus was saying about his death and resurrection repeatedly before he came to Jerusalem (Mark:8-10). However, his disciples "did not understand" Jesus’ words(Mk.9:32). His disciples and these women were not prepared for Jesus' resurrection on the third day. On their way to the tomb, the big question they had was "Who will roll the stone away?" When they reached the tomb, they found the truth that the stone was already rolled away. They saw an empty tomb. Then they heard the great news about his resurrection. These women who first came to the tomb became the first witnesses for Jesus' resurrection. You may have heard about Frank Morrison's  book, "Who moved the stones?" which was first  published in 1930 during the Lent season. As a journalist, Morrison wanted to prove the resurrection story as a myth.. However, at the end of his study on Jesus' last seven days, Morrison became a believer of the resurrected savior Jesus.  Even today, his book helps many people who are skeptical about the resurrection of Jesus to clear their doubts and to lead them to believe the historical faith of his resurrection. Indeed "He has risen!" .

APPLICATION: My Lord and savior Jesus is the one who won the death through his resurrection. He is alive today! I have no reason to disbelieve in his resurrection. I am happy that my faith is built on Jesus Christ. Jesus is continually touching the hearts of skeptics to believe in him. My faith in Jesus Christ is not futile. Since "“death is swallowed up in victory” in Jesus' resurrection, God gives me victory over sin  (1 Cor.15: 17, 56,57). Hallelujah!

PRAYER: Father God, thank you for the hope, strength and joy that you give us through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus, help me to be a strong witness to your resurrection through my words and deeds. Amen.

வேதவசனம்: மாற்கு 15:34 34. ஒன்பதாம்மணி நேரத்திலே, இயேசு: எலோயீ! எலோயீ! லாமா சபக்தானி, என்று மிகுந்த சத்தமிட்டுக் கூப்பிட்டார்; அதற்கு: என் தேவனே! என் தேவனே! ஏன் என்னைக் கைவிட்டீர் என்று அர்த்தமாம். 
35. அங்கே நின்றவர்களில் சிலர் அதைக் கேட்டபொழுது: இதோ, எலியாவைக் கூப்பிடுகிறான் என்றார்கள்.
36. ஒருவன் ஓடி, கடற்காளானைக் காடியிலே தோய்த்து, அதை ஒரு கோலில் மாட்டி, அவருக்குக் குடிக்கக் கொடுத்து: பொறுங்கள், எலியா இவனை இறக்க வருவானோ பார்ப்போம் என்றான்.

கவனித்தல்:  லெந்து காலங்களில், குறிப்பாக பெரியவெள்ளி ஆராதனைகளில், மாற்கு 15:34 ம் வசனம் இயேசு சிலுவையில் இருந்து பேசின வார்த்தைகளில் நான்காவது வார்த்தையாக நினைவுகூரப்படுகிறது. இயேசு சிலுவையில் இருந்த போது, அவருடைய மரணத்திற்கு முன்பும் பின்பும் அந்த இடத்தில் நின்று கொண்டிருந்தவர்கள் அவருடைய சிலுவை மரணத்தின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை அறியாதவர்களாக இருந்தார்கள். ஆயினும், இயேசுவின் சிலுவை மரணத்தின் போது அவரால் தாங்க முடியாத வேதனையாக இருந்தது அந்த இடத்தில் இருதவர்கள் செய்த நிந்தனைகளோ, பரியாசங்களோ, தூஷணங்களோ மற்றும் இரத்தம் வடிந்து கொண்டிருந்த காயப்பட்ட அவருடைய உடலின் வலியோ அல்ல. வேத வாக்கியங்களின் படி, உலகத்தின் பாவம் இயேசுவின் மீது சுமத்தப்பட்ட போது பிதாவிடம் இருந்து பிரிக்கப்பட்டதாக உணர்ந்ததுதான் அவருக்கு மிகுந்த வேதனையானதாக இருந்தது. மனித குலம் மீது தேவன் வைத்திருக்கும் மகா பெரிய அன்பின் வெளிப்பாடுதான் இயேசுவின் சிலுவை மரணம். அது அசாதாரணமான, கனவிலும் கூட நினைத்துப் பார்க்க முடியாத ஒரு மரணம் ஆகும். இயேசு நம்மை இரட்சிக்க சித்தமுடையவராயிருந்ததினால், தம்மை இரட்சிக்க சித்தம் இல்லாதவராயிருந்தார் என்று தேவ மனிதர் ஒருவர் சொல்கிறார். ”நாம் அவருக்குள் (இயேசுவுக்குள்) தேவனுடைய நீதியாகும்படிக்கு”, “நாம் பாவங்களுக்குச் செத்து, நீதிக்குப் பிழைத்திருக்கும்படிக்கு” இயேசு நம் பாவங்களைச் சுமந்தார் என வேதாகமம் கூறுகிறது (2 கொரி.5:21; 1 பேதுரு 2:24). இயேசுவின் மரணத்தில், நம் மீட்பு வாழ்க்கையின் துவக்கம் அல்லது ஆரம்பத்தை நாம் காண்கிறோம். இயேசு மரித்த போது, மனித குலம் மீதான சக்தியை பாவமானது இழந்தது. அவர் அதை சிலுவையில் ஆணியடித்து, வெற்றி சிறந்தார்.

பயன்பாடு:  இயேசு சிலுவையில் சொன்ன வார்த்தைகளை நினைவு கூர்கிறதைப் பார்க்கிலும், இயேசு ஏன் மரித்தார், சிலுவை மரணத்தின் மூலமாக என்ன செய்து முடித்திருக்கிறார் என்பதை நான் புரிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும். அவருடைய பரிபூரணமான ஒப்புரவாக்குதலின் பலி நான் தேவனிடம் இழந்து போன உறவை திரும்பவும் பெற்றுக் கொள்ளவும் தேவனுடைய இரட்சிப்பை நான் பெற்றுக் கொள்ளவும் எனக்கு உதவுகிறது. அவர் அதற்கான விலையை செலுத்திவிட்ட படியால், நான் எதையும் கொடுக்க வேண்டியதில்லை. நான் இயேசுவின் தியாக பலியை ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளும்போது, அவருக்குள் இருக்கிற அனைத்து ஆசீர்வாதங்களையும் நான் பெற்றனுபவிக்க ஆரம்பிக்கிறேன். நான் அவருக்குள் வாழ்கிறபடியால், பாவம் மற்றும் மரணம் என்பவைகளின் பிரமாணத்தில் இருந்து நான் விடுதலையாக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறேன்.

The death that put an end to sin

READ: Deuteronomy 19, 20; Psalm 86; Mark 15:33-47

SCRIPTURE: Mark 15: 34 And at three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”)
35 When some of those standing near heard this, they said, “Listen, he’s calling Elijah.”
36 Someone ran, filled a sponge with wine vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink. “Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to take him down,” he said. 
37 With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last.

OBSERVATION: During the Lent days, particularly in Good Friday services, Mark 15:34 is remembered as the fourth Saying of Jesus on the cross. When Jesus was on the cross, before and after his death those who were standing at the place did not understand the importance of the crucifixion. However, the most crucial and unbearable pain for Jesus during the crucifixion was not the insults, mockery, and the pain of his bruised, bleeding body. It was his separation from the Father, when the sin of the whole world was laid on him, according to the Scriptures.  Jesus' death on the cross was the manifestation of God's great love for humanity. It was the extraordinary and unimaginable death. Jesus' loud cry tells us that it was not an ordinary death. A man of God rightly says, "since he desired to save us, he was not willing to save himself."  The bible says that Jesus bore our sins so that "in him we might become the righteousness of God" and "we might die to sins and live for righteousness" (2 Cor.5:21; 1 Peter 2:24). In Jesus' death, we find a start or a beginning of our life of redemption. When Jesus breathed his last, the sin lost its power over humanity. He nailed it on the cross and became victorious. 

APPLICATION: More than remembering the Sayings of Jesus on the cross, I need to understand why Jesus died and what he had accomplished for me through crucifixion. His perfect atoning sacrifice helps me to restore the lost relationship with God, and to receive the salvation of God. I pay nothing, for he paid it all. When I accept Jesus' sacrifice, I start to enjoy every blessing in him. For I live in him, the law of sin and death has no control over me.

PRAYER: Jesus, you became forsaken by God to save me from the clutches of sin, and to lift me up. Thank you for your everlasting love. You have done your part that I may become the righteousness of God and to live for it. My savior, help me to remember your love to live  a sin free, righteous life today and forever. Amen

ஒரு உண்மையான தீர்க்கதரிசியை கண்டுகொள்வது எப்படி?

 வாசிக்க: உபாகமம் 17, 18; சங்கீதம் 85,  மாற்கு 15:1-32

வேதவசனம்: உபாகமம் 18: 21. கர்த்தர் சொல்லாத வார்த்தை இன்னதென்று நான் எப்படி அறிவேன் என்று நீ உன் இருதயத்தில் சொல்வாயாகில்,
22. ஒரு தீர்க்கதரிசி கர்த்தரின் நாமத்தினாலே சொல்லும் காரியம் நடவாமலும் நிறைவேறாமலும் போனால், அது கர்த்தர் சொல்லாத வார்த்தை; அந்தத் தீர்க்கதரிசி அதைத் துணிகரத்தினால் சொன்னான்; அவனுக்கு நீ பயப்படவேண்டாம்.

கவனித்தல்: பொதுவாக, ஜனங்கள் எதிர்காலத்தில் என்ன நடக்கும் என்பதை அறிந்து கொள்வதில் ஆர்வமுடையவர்களாக இருக்கிறார்கள். தங்களால் எதிர்காலத்தை குறித்து கணிக்க அல்லது முன்னறிவிக்க முடியும் என்று சொல்லிக்கொள்கிறவர்களைத் தேடி, அவர்களுடைய வெற்றி விகிதம் மிகவும் குறைவாக இருந்தாலும் கூட  அனேகர் செல்கின்றனர். இங்கு, தேவன் தன் வார்த்தைகளைப் பேசும் எதிர்கால தீர்க்கதரிசி (இயேசு) பற்றி மோசேயிடம் அறிவித்து, ”அவருக்குச் செவிகொடுப்பீர்களாக” என்று சொன்னார் (உபா.18:15,18). இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் குறிசொல்கிறவர்களிடமோ, மந்திரவாதி அல்லது சூனியக்காரரிடமோ செல்லக் கூடாது என தேவன் எச்சரித்திருந்தார். அதே சமயத்தில், ஒரு பொய் தீர்க்கதரிசி இருந்தால் அவர்களைக் அடையாளம் காண்பது எப்படி என்பதற்கும் அவர்களை ஆயத்தப்படுத்தினார். ஏனெனில், பொய் தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் தேவனை விட்டு ஜனங்களை விலக்கி விடக் கூடும், அவர்கள் தேவனுடைய வார்த்தைக்கு ஏற்ப பேசுவதில்லை (ஏசாயா 8:20). நாம் இங்கு உபா.18:22 ம் வசனத்தில் காண்பது போல, தீர்க்கதரிசன நிறைவேறுதல் என்பது ஒரு தீர்க்கதரிசி தேவனிடத்தில் இருந்து வந்தவரா அல்லது இல்லையா என்பதை பரிசோதித்தறியும் ஒரு முறை ஆகும். ஆயினும், உபாகமம் 13:1-5ல் ஒரு கணிப்பு அல்லது முன்னறிவிப்பு நிறைவேறினாலும் கூட நாம் எச்சரிக்கையாக இருக்க வேண்டும் என வாசிக்கிறோம். அவை தற்செயலானதாக அல்லது அறிவார்ந்த அவதானிப்புகளின் காரணமாகக் கூட நிறைவேறலாம். ஒருவர் வல்லமையான அற்புதங்கள் மற்றும் அடையாளங்களை நடப்பித்தாலும் கூட நாம் அவை தேவனிடம் இருந்து வந்ததா என்பதை சோதித்தறிய வேண்டும். எகிப்திய மந்திரவாதிகள் கூட அற்புதங்களைச் செய்தார்கள் என்பது உங்கள் நினைவில் வைத்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள். நாம் தேவனுக்கும் அவருடைய வார்த்தைக்கும் செவிகொடுக்க வேண்டும், (தவறான) தீர்க்கதரிசிகளுக்கு அல்ல.

பயன்பாடு: தேவன் என் எதிர்காலத்தை அறிந்திருக்கிறார். என்னை அவர் தம் வலதுகரத்தில் தாங்கிப் பிடித்திருக்கிறார். எதிர்காலத்தில் என்ன நடக்கும், எப்படி நடக்கும் என்பதைப் பற்றி நான் கவலைப்படத் தேவை இல்லை. பொய் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளின் வார்த்தைகளைக் குறித்து அச்சப்படவும் அவசியமில்லை. எதிர்காலத்தைக் குறித்து அறிந்து கொள்வதைப் பார்க்கிலும், தேவனுக்கு செவிகொடுத்து கீழ்ப்படிவது மிக முக்கியமானது ஆகும். நான் தேவனுக்கும், அவருடைய வார்த்தைக்கும் என் முழு கவனத்தையும் கொடுப்பேன்.  தேவனுடைய வார்த்தை என் இருதயத்தில் இருக்கும்போது, நான் ஒரு உண்மையான தீர்க்கதரிசனத்தை அடையாளம் கண்டு கொள்ள முடியும். ஏனெனில் அது தேவனுடைய வார்த்தைக்கு ஏற்ப இருக்கும். 

 

ஜெபம்: தந்தையாகிய தெய்வமே, ஏதேனும் பொய் தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் இருந்தால் அவர்களை அடையாளம் கண்டுகொள்ள நீர் தரும் எச்சரிக்கைக்காக நன்றி. நீர் என்னை மிகவும் நேசிப்பதினால், நான் ஏமாற்றப்படாதிருக்கவும், தவறாக வழிநடத்தப்படாதிருக்கவும் நீர் இவைகளை எனக்குச் சொல்கிறீர். உம் வார்த்தைகளுக்குச் செவி கொடுத்து, உமக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிவதன் மூலம் நான் உம் மீது வைத்திருக்கும் அன்பை வெளிப்படுத்த எனக்கு உதவும். ஆமென்.

How to identify a true prophet?

READ: Deuteronomy 17, 18; Psalm 85; Mark 15:1-32

SCRIPTURE: Deuteronomy 18: 21 You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?”
22 If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.

OBSERVATION: In general, people are interested to know what would happen in the future. Across the world, many people go to persons who claim that they could predict or foretell the future, even if they have minimum success rate. Here, God informed Moses about the future prophet (i.e. Jesus) who would speak God's words, and said, "you must listen to him" (V.15,18). God warned the Israelites not to go to any sorcerer or soothsayer. At the same time he prepared the Israelites to discern if there is any false prophet, for they could lead God's people away from the Lord. Because, they do not speak according to the Word of God (Is.8:20). As we see here in verse 22, fulfilment of a prophecy  is one test to know whether a prophet is from God or not. However,  Deut.13:1-5 warns us to be cautious even if  we see the fulfilment of a prediction or a foretell. Those fulfilments could be coincidental or the results of intelligent observations.  Even if we see mighty signs and wonders of a person, we need to check whether it is from God. You may remember that the Egyptian magicians also performed miracles. We should listen to God and his words, not to any (false) prophets.

APPLICATION: God knows my future. He holds me in his right hand. I need not to worry about what would happen and how it would happen. I do not bother about the words of false prophets.  Listening and obeying God's words are important than knowing something about the future. I will pay my attention to God and his words. When God's words are in my heart, I would be able to recognize a true prophecy as it will be in line with the Word of God

PRAYER: Father God, thank you your warning to identify any false prophets, if any. Because you love me so much, you say these things to me so that no one can deceive or mislead me. Help me to show my love for you by listening your words and obeying you always. Amen.

தேவனுடைய வீடு எவ்வளவு இன்பமானது!

வாசிக்க: உபாகமம் 15, 16; சங்கீதம் 84,  மாற்கு 14:32-72

வேதவசனம்: 1. சேனைகளின் கர்த்தாவே, உமது வாசஸ்தலங்கள் எவ்வளவு இன்பமானவைகள்!
2. என் ஆத்துமா கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயப்பிராகாரங்களின்மேல் வாஞ்சையும் தவனமுமாயிருக்கிறது; என் இருதயமும் என் மாம்சமும் ஜீவனுள்ள தேவனை நோக்கிக் கெம்பீர சத்தமிடுகிறது. 
3. என் ராஜாவும் என் தேவனுமாகிய சேனைகளின் கர்த்தாவே, உம்முடைய பீடங்களண்டையில் அடைக்கலான் குருவிக்கு வீடும், தகைவிலான் குருவிக்குத் தன் குஞ்சுகளை வைக்கும் கூடும் கிடைத்ததே.
4. உம்முடைய வீட்டில் வாசமாயிருக்கிறவர்கள் பாக்கியவான்கள்; அவர்கள் எப்பொழுதும் உம்மைத் துதித்துக்கொண்டிருப்பார்கள். (சேலா.)

கவனித்தல்:  நம் இருதயத்திற்கு அமைதியையும் மகிழ்ச்சியையும் தரும் இனிமையான சங்கீதங்களில் சங்கீதம் 84-ம் ஒன்றாகும். இந்த சங்கீதம் தேவனுடைய வீட்டிற்காக வாஞ்சித்து ஏங்குகிற சங்கீதக்காரனின் ஜெபத்தை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறது. முதல் வசனத்தில் வருகிற வினைச்சொல்லை கவனித்துப் பாருங்கள். தேவனுடைய வீடு இன்பமானதாக இருக்கிறது. ஏனெனில், அது தேவன் வாசம் செய்யும் இடமாக இருக்கிறது (இருந்தது என்றோ இருக்கும் என்றோ இல்லை). ஆகவே, தேவ பயமுள்ள ஒரு நபர் அந்த இடத்தில் இருக்க விரும்புவது இயல்பு. அவர் வாஞ்சையுடன் தேவனுடைய வீட்டை வந்து சேரும்போது, அவர் ஜீவனுள்ள தேவனை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுகிறார். தேவனுடைய வீட்டில் வாசம் செய்யும் ஆண்டவர் ஜீவனுள்ள தேவன் என்று அவர் சொல்கிறார். அது மட்டுமல்ல, அடைக்கலான் குருவியும், தகைவிலான் குருவியும் கூட தங்குகிறதற்கு ஒரு இடத்தை தேவனுடைய வீட்டில் கண்டு கொள்கிறதை சங்கீதக்காரன் காண்கிறார். தேவன் தன்னிடத்தில் வருகிற அனைவரையும் ஏற்றுக் கொள்கிறார். அவர் ஒருபோதும் தன்னிடத்தில் வருகிறவர்களை நிராகரிப்பதில்லை, வராதே என்று சொல்வதுமில்லை (யோவான் 6:37). மிகவிம் பலவீனமான மற்றும் தகுதியற்ற ஒருவரும் கூட தேவனுக்கருகில் இளைப்பாறுகிறதற்கான ஒரு இடத்தைக் கண்டுகொள்ள முடியும். இந்த இடத்தில் வரவேற்று, ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, இடம் கொடுக்கிறவர் ஒரு சாதாரண நபர் அல்ல என்பதை நினைவில் கொள்ளுங்கள்.  சங்கீதக்காரன் சொல்வது போல, அவர் ”இராஜா”, ”தேவன்”, “சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர்.” அதன் பின், தேவனுடைய வீட்டில் வாழ்கிறவர்களின் ஆசீர்வாதமான நிலைமையையும், அவர்கள் என்ன செய்கிறார்கள்-தேவனை துதித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்- என்பதையும் சங்கீதக்காரன் காண்கிறார். ஜீவனுள்ள தேவனுடைய பிரசன்னமானது அவருடைய ஜனங்கள் அவரை துதித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கும்படி செய்கிறது.

 

பயன்பாடு: பழைய ஏற்பாட்டுக் காலங்களில், இஸ்ரவேலில் உள்ள ஆண்கள் அனைவரும் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக வரவேண்டியதாக இருந்தது (உபா.16:16). ஆயினும், அனுதினமும் கர்த்தர் முன்பாக வருவதற்கு எந்த தடையும் இல்லை. அந்நாட்களில், தேவனுடைய வாசஸ்தலம் என்பது ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட இடமாக, எருசலேமாக இருந்தது. இக்காலத்தில், நான் உயிரோடிருக்கும் நாட்கள் எல்லாம், நான் எங்கிருந்தாலும், அனுதினமும் நான் ஜீவனுள்ள தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக வரமுடியும். தேவன் என் பலவீனங்களையும் குறைகளையும் பார்ப்பதில்லை. நான் அவருடன் வாழ்கையில், என்னை பெலப்படுத்தி, தீங்குக்கு விலக்கிப் பாதுகாக்கிறார். தேவனை அறிந்திருக்கிற, அவரது அன்பை ருசித்த ஒருவர் தேவன் வாசம் செய்கிற இடத்தில் வாழ்வதன் மதிப்பை புரிந்துகொண்டு, அவர் தேவனை துதித்துக் கொண்டிருப்பார். 

 

ஜெபம்:  சர்வ வல்லமையுள்ள தேவனே, நான் உம்முடன் இருப்பதனால் வரும் ஆசீர்வாதத்தை நினைவுபடுத்துகிறதற்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. உம் வாசஸ்தலங்கள் எவ்வளவு இன்பமானது! நீர் என் இராஜா, என் தேவன். உம்மிடத்தில் வரும் பாக்கியத்தையும் ஆசீர்வாதத்தையும் அசட்டை செய்யாமலிருக்க எனக்கு உதவும். தேவனே, உங்கள் மீதான என் ஆர்வமும் அன்பும் நாளுக்கு நாள் அதிகரிக்கட்டும். ஆமென்.

How lovely is the house of God!

READ: Deuteronomy 15, 16; Psalm 84; Mark 14:32-72

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 84:How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty!
2 My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
3 Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young—a place near your altar, Lord Almighty, my King and my God.
4. Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you

OBSERVATION: Psalm 84 is one of the pleasant Psalms that gives peace and delights to our heart. This psalm expresses the prayer of the psalmist who longs for the house of God. Notice the verb of the first verse.  The house of God IS lovely. Because it is (not it was, or it will be) the place  where God lives. So, naturally a god-fearing person would like to be there. As he yearns and reaches the house of God, he cries out for the living God. He says that the Lord who dwells in the house of God is the living God. Not only that, he sees even the sparrow and the swallow find a place to live in the house of God. God accepts all who come to him, he never rejects or drives away anyone who comes to him (John.6:37). Even a weakest and an unworthy person could find a resting place near God. Keep in mind that the person who welcomes, accepts, and gives space in this place is not an ordinary person. As the psalmist says, he is "Lord Almighty”, “King”, and “God." Then, the psalmist sees the blessedness of the people who live in the house of God  and what they do-they are praising God. The presence of the living God makes his people to praise him. 

APPLICATION: In the Old Testament times, every year all the males of Israel were to come before the Lord three times (Deut.16:16). However, there was no restriction to come everyday.  Those days, God's dwelling place refers a particular place. It was Jerusalem. Now, as long as I live, wherever I am, I can come to the living God everyday. God does not see my weaknesses and shortcomings. He makes me strong and protects me from any harm, as I live with him. The one who knows God and tasted his love would understand the value of living in God's house. S/he would praise God. 

PRAYER: God almighty, thank you for reminding me the blessedness of being with you. How lovely is your dwelling places! You are my King, and my God. Help me not to neglect the privilege and blessing of coming to you . May my passion and love for you increase day by day.  Amen.

இயேசுவுக்காக ஒரு அழகிய செயல்

 வாசிக்க: உபாகமம் 13, 14; சங்கீதம் 83,  மாற்கு 14:1-31

வேதவசனம்: மாற்கு 14: 6. இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி: அவளை விட்டுவிடுங்கள்; ஏன் அவளைத் தொந்தரவுபடுத்துகிறீர்கள்? என்னிடத்தில் நற்கிரியையைச் செய்திருக்கிறாள்.
7. தரித்திரர் எப்போதும் உங்களிடத்தில் இருக்கிறார்கள்; உங்களுக்கு மனதுண்டாகும்போதெல்லாம் நீங்கள் அவர்களுக்கு நன்மை செய்யலாம்; நானோ எப்போதும் உங்களிடத்தில் இரேன்.
8. இவள் தன்னால் இயன்றதைச் செய்தாள்; நான் அடக்கம்பண்ணப்படுவதற்கு எத்தனமாக, என் சரீரத்தில் தைலம்பூச முந்திக்கொண்டாள்.

கவனித்தல்: விலையேறப்பெற்ற தைலத்தை தன் தலையில் ஊற்றின ஒரு பெண்ணுக்காக இயேசு பேசுவதை நாம் இங்கு பார்க்கிறோம். அங்கிருந்தவர்கள் “விசனமடைந்து”, “அவளைக்குறித்து முறுமுறுத்தார்கள்” (வ.4,5). ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் (யோவான் 12:4-6ன் படி, யூதாஸ்காரியோத்து) அந்த ”வெள்ளைக்கல் பரணி”யின் விலைமதிப்புக்கு அதிக முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுத்தார்கள். அந்த தைலத்தின் மதிப்பு ஒரு தினக் கூலி பெறுபவரின் ஒரு வருட சம்பளத்திற்குச் சமமானதாக இருந்தது. அந்நாட்களில் அந்த அதிக விலைபெறுகிற வெள்ளைக்கல் பரணியை எவரேனும் வைத்திருந்தால், அதை தங்கள் பெருமையின் ஒரு அடையாளமாக கருதி இருப்பர். இயேசு அவளுடைய நன்றியறிதலின் செயலை அப்படியே ஏற்றுக் கொண்டார். நம் தகுதிக்கு மீறி, நம்மால் முடியாதவைகளைத் கொடுக்க/செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று இயேசு ஒருபோதும் நம்மிடம் எதிர்பார்ப்பதில்லை. அந்தப் பெண்ணிடம் அவர் செய்தது போல, நாம் நம்மால் செய்யக் கூடியதைச் செய்யும்போது அவர் அதை அங்கீகரித்து ஏற்றுக் கொள்கிறார் (வ.8). இயேசுவைப் பற்றிய நற்செய்தி செல்லும் இடம் எங்கிலும் அவளுடைய செயல் நினைவுகூரப்படும் என்று சொல்லி, அந்தப் பெண்ணின் தியகச் செயலை இயேசு பாராட்டினார். இந்த சம்பவத்திற்குப் பின்னர் அடுத்ததாக, யூதாஸ்காரியோத்து தானாகவே முன்வந்து பிரதான ஆசாரியரிடம் சென்று வெறும் முப்பது வெள்ளிக்காசுகளுக்காக (அதாவது, தினக்கூலி பெறுபவரின் நான்கு மாத சம்பளம்) இயேசுவைக் காட்டிக் கொடுக்க சம்மதித்தான் என்று நாம் வாசிக்கிறோம். இயேசுவைக் காட்டிலும் யூதாசுக்கு 30 வெள்ளிப் பணம் அதிக மதிப்புடையதாக இருந்திருக்கவேண்டும். இப்படியாக, அவனால் செய்யக் கூடியதை அவன் செய்தான். எவ்வளவு மோசமான ஒரு செயல்! மறுபக்கத்திலோ, அந்தப் பெண் விலையேறப்பெற்ற அந்த தைல புட்டியை உடைத்து, நறுமண தைலத்தை இயேசுவின் தலையின் மேல் ஊற்றினாள் என நாம் வாசிக்கிறோம். அவளுடைய செயலினால் பரவின நறுமணத்தை அந்த அறையில் இருந்த அனைவரும் உணர்ந்திருக்க வேண்டும். ஆனால், அவர்களுடைய இருதயம் அதை ஏற்றுக் கொள்ள தயாராக இல்லை. ஆயினும் இயேசுவோ, இது தன் அடக்கத்திற்கான முன் ஆயத்தமாக இருக்கிறது என்று அவர்களிடம் சொன்னார். எவ்வளவு அழகிய ஒரு செயல் இது!

பயன்பாடு:  நான் இயேசுவுக்குப் படைக்க/செய்யக் கூடிய மிகச் சிறந்த காரியம் என்ன! நான் காணிக்கைகளைக் கொடுக்கலாம், ஊழியங்களைத் தாங்க பணம் அனுப்பலாம். ஆனால் இயேசுவோ கொடுக்கிற என் இதயத்தைப் பார்க்கிறார், நான் கொடுக்கிற பொருளை அல்ல. அந்தப் பெண்ணைச் சுற்றி இருந்த அனைவரும் அந்த வெள்ளைக்கல் பரணி தைலத்தின் விலைக் குறிப்பைப் பற்றி யோசித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கையில், அந்த நறுமண தைலத்தைக் கொடுத்த அவளுடைய இருதயத்தை இயேசு பார்த்தார். இயேசுவைப் பொறுத்தவரையில், ஒரு நபரின் இருதயத்தைப் பார்க்கிலும் விலைமதிப்பற்றது எதுவுமில்லை. நான் என் இதயத்தை இயேசுவுக்குக் கொடுக்கும்போது, அவர் அதை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு என்னைப் பாராட்டுகிறார். நான் என் இதயத்தை இயேசுவிடம் கொடுக்கும்போது, நறுமணமானது எங்கும் பரவி, நான் இருக்கும் இடத்தை அனைவருக்கும் இனிமையான இடமாக மாற்றுகிறது. அது எவ்வளவு அழகானதாக இருக்கும்!

 

ஜெபம்:  இயேசுவே, என் வாழ்வில் நீர் செய்துவருகிற எல்லா காரியங்களுக்காகவும் உமக்கு நன்றி. எண்ணி முடியாத அழகிய செயல்களை என் வாழ்வில் நீர் செய்திருக்கிறீர். உம் அன்பிற்காக நன்றி. நான் உம் மீது வைத்திருக்கும் அன்பை அனுதினமும் என் வாழ்வில் வெளிப்படுத்த எனக்கு உதவும். ஆமென்.

A beautiful thing for Jesus

READ: Deuteronomy 13, 14; Psalm 83; Mark 14:1-31

SCRIPTURE: Mark 14: 6 “Leave her alone,” said Jesus. “Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me.
7 The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me.
8 She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial. 

OBSERVATION: Here we see Jesus speaks for a woman who poured an expensive oil on his head. People were "indignant" and "rebuked her harshly,"  for they (according to John 12:4-6, says, it was Judas  Iscariot) gave more importance to the value of the alabaster jar (v.4,5). It was worth about a year salary of a daily worker. Those days, if somebody had that expensive alabaster jar, they would have considered it as a symbol of pride. Jesus accepted her act of gratitude. Jesus never expects us to offer and do things beyond our capacity. Like he did to the woman, he recognizes when we do what we could do (v.8). Jesus appreciated the woman's act of sacrifice  by saying that it will be remembered wherever the Gospel goes. Right after this incident, we read that Judas Iscariot voluntarily went to the chief priests and agreed to betray Jesus, for just 30 pieces of silver (i.e. approx. four months salary of a daily worker). Judas must have counted the thirty pieces of silver were more worth than Jesus. Thus, he did what he could do. How bad! On the other hand, We read that the woman broke the expensive jar and poured the perfume on Jesus' head. Everyone in the room must had felt the aroma of her act. But their hearts were not ready to accept it. However, Jesus told them that it was an early preparation for his burial. How beautiful it was! 

APPLICATION: What is the best thing I could offer to Jesus! I may give offerings, send money to missions. But Jesus sees my heart that gives, not the material I give to him. When everyone around the woman were thinking about the price tag of the alabaster jar, Jesus saw her heart that gave the perfume. For Jesus, nothing is precious than a person's heart. He accepts and appreciates me when I give my heart to him. When I offer the sacrifice of my heart to Jesus, the aroma would spread and make the place pleasant for all.  How beautiful it would be! 

PRAYER: Jesus, thank you for everything you do in my life. You have done countless beautiful things in my life. Lord, thank you for your love. Help me to express the love I have for you in my life everyday. Amen

"விழித்திருங்கள்"

வாசிக்க: உபாகமம் 11, 12; சங்கீதம் 82,  மாற்கு 13:24-37

வேதவசனம்: மாற்கு 13:35. அப்படியே நீங்களும் விழித்திருங்கள்; ஏனெனில், வீட்டெஜமான் சாயங்காலத்திலோ, நடுராத்திரியிலோ, சேவல் கூவும் நேரத்திலோ, காலையிலோ, எப்பொழுது வருவான் என்று நீங்கள் அறியீர்கள்.
36. நீங்கள் நினையாத வேளையில் அவன் வந்து, உங்களைத் தூங்குகிறவர்களாகக் கண்டுபிடியாதபடிக்கு விழித்திருங்கள்.
37. நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறதை எல்லாருக்கும் சொல்லுகிறேன், விழித்திருங்கள் என்றார்.

கவனித்தல்: இந்த உலகத்தின் கடைசி காலம் மற்றும் அதனுடன் தொடர்புடைய நிகழ்வுகள் குறித்து இயேசு எச்சரித்த போது, தனது இரண்டாவது வருகைக்கு ஆயத்தமாக இருக்கும்படி அவர் தன் சீடர்களிடம் சொன்னார். அவர் திரும்பவும் வரும் நேரம் குறித்து தன் சீடர்களிடம் எதுவும் சொல்லவில்லை. ஆகவே, இயேசு எப்போது திரும்ப வந்தாலும், அவருடன் சேருவதற்கு ஆயத்தமுள்ளவர்களாக அவருடைய சீடர்கள் இருக்க வேண்டும். ” நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறதை எல்லாருக்கும் சொல்லுகிறேன்” என்று இயேசு சொன்னபடியால், அவருடைய வார்த்தைகள் இன்றும் கூட நமக்கு பொருந்தக் கூடியதாக இருக்கின்றது.  எவ்வித முன்னறிவிப்பும் இன்றி இயேசு திடீரென திரும்பவும் வரும்போது, நாம் அவருக்காக விழித்திருக்கிறவர்களாக காணப்படவேண்டும் என அவர் எதிர்பார்க்கிறார். இங்கு, ”தூங்குகிறவர்கள்” என்கிற வார்த்தை தேவனுடைய ஜனங்கள் இயேசுவின் வருகைக்கு ஆயத்தம் இல்லாமல் இருப்பதைக் குறிக்கிறது. அவர்கள் மற்ற காரியங்களில் முழு கவனத்தையும் செலுத்துகிறவர்களாகவும், இயேசுவின் வருகைக்கு ஆயத்தப்பட விருப்பமோ, நேரமோ  இல்லாதவர்களாக இருக்கிறார்கள். நம் சபைகளில் நாம் இயேசுவின் வருகையை மற்றும் அதற்கு நாம் ஆயத்தப்படுவதைப் பற்றி கேட்பதை விட மற்ற காரியங்களைப் பற்றி அதிகம் கேட்கிறோம் என்பது வருந்தத்தக்கது. நாம் இயேசுவின் இரண்டாவது வருகைக்கு ஆயத்தமாக இருக்க விரும்பும்போது, நாம் வாழ்கிற மற்றும் சிந்திக்கிற முறையானது முற்றிலும் வித்தியாசமானதாகவும், தேவனை மையப்படுத்துகிறதாகவும் இருக்கும். அப்படித்தானே! ஒவ்வொரு கிறிஸ்தவரும் எச்சரிக்கையுள்ளவர்களாகவும், இயேசுவின் வருகைக்காக (தூங்காமல்) விழித்திருக்கிறவர்களாகவும் இருக்க வேண்டும். 

 

பயன்பாடு:  இயேசு திரும்ப வரும் நேரம் குறித்து எனக்கு தெரியாமல் இருக்கலாம். ஆனால், அவர் திரும்பவும் வருவேன் என்று வாக்குப்பண்ணி இருக்கிறதை நான் அறிந்திருக்கிறேன். ”வானமும் பூமியும் ஒழிந்துபோம், என் வார்த்தைகளோ ஒழிந்துபோவதில்லை” என்று அவர் சொல்லி இருக்கிறார் (வ,31). நினையாத ஒரு நேரத்தில் இயேசு நிச்சயமாக திரும்பவும் வருவார். நான் அவருடைய வருகைக்கு எப்பொழுதும் ஆயத்தமாக இருப்பேனாகில், அவர் வரும் நேரம் குறித்து நான் கவலைப்படத் தேவை இல்லை. நான் செய்ய வேண்டியதெல்லாம் என்னவெனில், கவனமாக இருக்க வேண்டும்! எச்சரிக்கையாயிருக்க வேண்டும், விழித்திருந்து ஜெபிக்க வேண்டும். 

 

ஜெபம்:  இயேசுவே, உலகத்தின் முடிவு மற்றும் உம் இரண்டாம் வருகை பற்றிய உம் தீர்க்கதரிசன வார்த்தைகளுக்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. எந்த நேரத்திலும் நீங்கள் திரும்பி வரக்கூடும் என்ற எதிர்பார்ப்புடன் விழித்திருக்கவும், அதற்கேற்றபடி வாழவும் எனக்கு உதவும். ஆமென்.

"Watch!”

READ: Deuteronomy 11, 12; Psalm 82; Mark 13:24-37

SCRIPTURE: Mark 13:35 “Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn.
36 If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping.
37 What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’”

OBSERVATION: When Jesus was warning about the end times of the world and its corresponding events, he told his disciples to be prepared for his Second Coming. He did not tell them about the timing of his return. Therefore, his disciples have to be ready all the times to join with Jesus, whenever he comes back. For he said, "I say to everyone," his words are applicable to all of us even today. When he suddenly comes back without any notice, he expects us to be awake for him. Here, the word "sleeping" says of the unpreparedness of God's people for Jesus' second coming. They are very busy in other things and have no desire or no time to get ready for Jesus' return. Sadly, in our Churches, we hear more about other stuffs than about Jesus' return and our preparation for it. When we want to be ready for Jesus' second coming, the way we live and think would be totally different and god-centered. Isn't it!  Every Christian needs to be on alert and should be awake for Jesus'  return.

APPLICATION: I may not know the time of Jesus' return. But I know that he promised to come back again. He said, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away) (v.31). Jesus would surely come back in an unexpected time. If I am always ready for his return, I need not to worry about the timing. All I need to do, "Be on guard! Be alert and pray!

PRAYER: Jesus, thank you for your prophetic words about the end of the world and your return. Help me to be awake in expectation that you could return any time, and  to live accordingly. Amen.

ஒளி வீசும் ஒரு பரிந்துரை ஜெபம்

  வாசிக்க: உபாகமம் 9, 10; சங்கீதம் 81,  மாற்கு 13:1-23

வேதவசனம்: உபாகமம் 8: 18. கர்த்தரைக் கோபப்படுத்துவதற்கு நீங்கள் அவருடைய சமுகத்தில் பொல்லாப்புச் செய்து நடப்பித்த உங்களுடைய சகல பாவங்கள் நிமித்தமும், நான் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக முன்போலும் இரவும் பகலும் நாற்பதுநாள் விழுந்துகிடந்தேன்; நான் அப்பம் புசிக்கவுமில்லை, தண்ணீர் குடிக்கவுமில்லை.
19. கர்த்தர் உங்களை அழிக்கும்படி உங்கள்மேல் கொண்டிருந்த கோபத்திற்கும் உக்கிரத்திற்கும் பயந்திருந்தேன்; கர்த்தர் அந்த முறையும் என் மன்றாட்டைக் கேட்டார்.

கவனித்தல்: இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் ”தங்க கன்றுகுட்டி” சிலை செய்து தேவனுக்கு விரோதமாக பாவம் செய்தபின், அவர்களுக்காக பரிந்துரை ஜெபம் செய்ததை மோசே இங்கு நினைவுகூருகிறார். இரண்டாவது முறையாக அவர் நாற்பது நாள் இரவும் பகலும் அவர் உபவாசம் இருந்து ஜெபித்தார். முதல் முறை அவர் நாற்பது நாட்கள் உபவாசம் இருந்தபோது, அவர் தேவனுடன் இருந்தார், அப்போது தேவன் அவரிடம் அந்நாட்களில் நியாயப்பிரமாணம் குறித்தும், ஆசரிப்பு கூடார வேலை குறித்தும், மற்றும் பல காரியங்களைக் குறித்தும் பேசிக்கொண்டிருந்தார். இரண்டாவது முறை நாற்பது நாட்கள் மோசே உபவாசம் இருந்த போது, அவர் தேவனுக்கு முன்பாகச் சென்று, இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் தேவனுக்கு விரோதமாகச் செய்த பாவத்தை மன்னிக்க வேண்டும் என மன்றாடினார். உபாகமம் 9:26-28 ல் மோசே செய்த வல்லமையான ஜெபத்தைப் பற்றி நாம் வாசிக்கிறோம். இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் பாவம் செய்து தேவனைக் கோபப்படுத்தியபோது, தேவன் மோசேயைப் பெரிய ஜாதியாக்குகிறேன் என்று வாக்குப் பண்ணினபோது அவர் அதை ஏற்றுக் கொண்டிருக்க முடியும். ஆனால் அவர் அதைச் செய்யவில்லை. மாறாக, அவர்களுடைய பாவத்தை நிவிர்த்தி செய்யும்படி ஜெபித்து, “தேவரீர் அவர்கள் பாவத்தை மன்னித்தருளுவீரானால் மன்னித்தருளும்; இல்லாவிட்டால் நீர் எழுதின உம்முடைய புஸ்தகத்திலிருந்து என் பேரைக் கிறுக்கிப்போடும்” என்றான் (யாத்.32:30-32). நாம் உபாகமம் 9ல் வாசிப்பது போல, அவன் தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து கிடந்தான். இஸ்ரவேலரின் மகாபெரிய பாவத்தினிமித்தம் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக மோசே தன்னத்தானே தாழ்த்தினான். இஸ்ரவேலருக்காக மோசே செய்த ஒவ்வொரு ஜெபத்தையும் கேட்டு பதிலளித்தார். இதில் கர்த்தருடைய சமூகம் இஸ்ரவேலர்களுடன் வரவேண்டும் என்பதற்கான ஜெபமும் அடங்கும். நிச்சயமாகவே, தேவன் நம் ஜெபங்களைக் கேட்டுப் பதிலளிக்கிறார்! மோசேயின் பரிந்துரை ஜெபத்தைப் பற்றிய குறிப்பில் ஆச்சரியமான மற்றும் சுவராசியமான ஒரு விஷயம் என்னவெனில், மோசே தேவனோடே பேசினதினாலே அவனுடைய முகம் பிரகாசமடைந்திருந்தது. மோசேயோ அதை அறியாதிருந்தான் (யாத்.34:29). பரிந்துரை ஜெபமானது பதில்களைப் பெற்றுத்தருவதுடன், ஜெபிக்கிற நபரையும் பிரகாசமான நபராக மாற்றிவிடுகிறது. 

 

பயன்பாடு:  எனக்காக எப்போதும் பரிந்து பேசும் இயேசு இருக்கிறார் (எபி.7.25). ஆண்டவராகிய தேவனிடத்தில் நான் நம்பிக்கையுடன் உறுதியாக இருப்பதற்கு என்னை இது உற்சாகப்படுத்துகிறது. ஆயினும், நான் மோசேயின் இடத்தில் வைக்கப்பட்டால், நான் என்ன செய்வேன்/என்ன செய்ய வேண்டும்? சபையில், கிறிஸ்தவ நிறுவனங்களில், மற்றும் தனிநபர்களிடத்தில் தவறுகள், ஆன்மீக வீழ்ச்சி, கீழ்ப்படியாமை, மற்றும் பாவங்களை நான் பார்க்கும்போது, நான் என்ன செய்கிறேன்? அது என்னவாக இருந்தாலும், யாராக இருந்தாலும், பெரிதோ சிறிதோ, அவர்களுக்காக, அக்காரியங்களுக்காக நான் ஜெபிக்க வேண்டும்.

A shining intercessory prayer

 READ: Deuteronomy 9, 10; Psalm 81; Mark 13:1-23

SCRIPTURE: Deuteronomy 9: 18 Then once again I fell prostrate before the Lord for forty days and forty nights; I ate no bread and drank no water, because of all the sin you had committed, doing what was evil in the Lord’s sight and so arousing his anger.
19 I feared the anger and wrath of the Lord, for he was angry enough with you to destroy you. But again the Lord listened to me.  

OBSERVATION: Here Moses recalls his intercessory prayer that he made for the Israelites, after they sinned against the Lord in the matter of "The Golden Calf." He fasted for forty days and forty nights for the second time. In the first time,  he was with the Lord, and the Lord spoke to Moses regarding the Law, the work of the tent of meeting and so on. In the second time, when he went before the Lord, Moses was pleading for the sin Israelites committed against the Lord. We read his powerful interceding prayer in Deut. 9: 26-28. When the Israelites sinned and angered the Lord, Moses could had accepted the promising offer of the Lord to make him great. But, Moses prayed for the atonement of their sin and said that " please forgive their sin—but if not, then blot me out of the book you have written" (Exo.32:30-32).  As we read in Deut.9, he prostrated before the Lord.  Moses humbled himself before the Lord with fasting for the Israelites' great sin. God answered his every prayer for the Israelites, this includes his prayer for God's presence to come with them. Surely, God answers our prayers. An amazing and interesting event in this intercessory prayer narrative is Moses's "face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord"  and he was not aware of it (Exo.34:29). An intercessory prayer not only brings answers, it changes the praying person to be a radiant person as well. 

APPLICATION: I have Jesus who intercedes for me always (Heb.7:25). This encourages me to be confident in the Lord God. However, what would/should I do, if I am placed in Moses's place.  When I see mistakes, spiritual fall, disobedience, and sins in the church, Christian organizations, and in individuals, what I do? Whoever it may be, whatever it is, whether great or small, I need to pray for those people/things. 

PRAYER: Father God, thank you for answering our every prayer. Give me a heart to pray and to intercede for others. O Jesus my Lord, instead of accusing  people, help me to pray for them compassionately, by remembering your atonement sacrifice on the cross.  Amen.

எப்பொழுதும் நினைவில் வைத்துக் கொள்ள வேண்டிய ஒரு பாடம்

 வாசிக்க: உபாகமம் 7, 8; சங்கீதம் 80,  மாற்கு 12:28-44

வேதவசனம்: உபாகமம் 8: 2. உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்னைச் சிறுமைப்படுத்தும்படிக்கும், தம்முடைய கட்டளைகளை நீ கைக்கொள்வாயோ கைக்கொள்ளமாட்டாயோ என்று அவர் உன்னைச் சோதித்து, உன் இருதயத்திலுள்ளதை நீ அறியும்படிக்கும், உன்னை இந்த நாற்பது வருஷமளவும் வனாந்தரத்திலே நடத்திவந்த எல்லா வழியையும் நினைப்பாயாக. 
3. அவர் உன்னைச் சிறுமைப்படுத்தி, உன்னைப் பசியினால் வருத்தி, மனுஷன் அப்பத்தினால் மாத்திரம் அல்ல, கர்த்தருடைய வாயிலிருந்து புறப்படுகிற ஒவ்வொரு வார்த்தையினாலும் பிழைப்பான் என்பதை உனக்கு உணர்த்தும்படிக்கு, நீயும் உன் பிதாக்களும் அறியாதிருந்த மன்னாவினால் உன்னைப் போஷித்தார். 
4. இந்த நாற்பது வருஷமும் உன்மேலிருந்த வஸ்திரம் பழையதாய்ப் போகவும் இல்லை, உன் கால் வீங்கவும் இல்லை.
5. ஒருவன் தன் புத்திரனைச் சிட்சிக்கிறதுபோல உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்னைச் சிட்சிக்கிறார் என்று நீ உன் இருதயத்தில் அறிந்துகொள்வாயாக.

கவனித்தல்: எகிப்தில் இருந்து ஏராளமான செல்வங்களையும் உடைமைகளையும் இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் எடுத்துச் சென்றனர் (யாத்.12:35-38) தங்கள் விடுதலைப் பயணத்தின் ஆரம்பத்தில் வாக்குதத்தம் பண்ணப்பட்ட கானான் தேசத்தை சுதந்தரித்துக் கொள்வதற்காக ஒரு குறுகிய காலத்தில் சீக்கிரத்தில் சென்று சேர்ந்து விடுவோம் என அவர்கள் நினைத்திருக்கக் கூடும். ஆனால், தேவன் அவர்களைப் பற்றி வேறு திட்டங்கள் வைத்திருந்தார். அவர்கள் அடிமைகளாக இருந்தபடியால், அவர்களுடைய அடிமை வேலையைத் தவிர வேறு எதற்கும் அவர்களுக்கு பயிற்சி கிடைத்திருக்க வாய்ப்புகள் குறைவு. இஸ்ரவேலர்களுடைய பயணத்தில், அவர்கள் இருதயத்தில் உள்ளதை அறிய தேவன் அவர்களைத் தாழ்த்தி, அன்பான கீழ்ப்படிதலுடன் வாழவும், எப்பொழுதும் அவர்கள் தேவனை நம்பவும் அவர்களுக்குப் கற்றுக் கொடுத்தார். இஸ்ரவேலர்களுக்கு அது ஒரு கற்றுக் கொள்ள கடினமான  ஒரு காலமாக இருந்தது என்பது உண்மைதான். ஆயினும், தேவன் அவர்களுக்குக் கற்றுக் கொடுத்த, சிட்சித்த அந்த ஆண்டுகள் அவருடைய அற்புதப் பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் இஸ்ரவேலருக்குத் தேவையானவைகளை கிடைக்கச் செய்த காலங்களாக இருந்தன.  “கர்த்தருடைய வாயிலிருந்து புறப்படுகிற ஒவ்வொரு வார்த்தை”யையும் கனப்படுத்த இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் கற்பிக்கப்பட்டனர். ஒரு தகப்பன் தன் குழந்தையை நேசிப்பது போல, தேவன் தன் ஜனங்களை நேசிக்கிறார் என்பதை தம் பிள்ளைகளாகிய ஜனங்கள் அறிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும் என அவர் விரும்புகிறார்.எதிர்காலச் சவால்களை எதிர்கொள்வதற்கு தயாராக இருக்கும்படி ஒரு தகப்பனுடைய அன்பு தன் பிள்ளைக்கு பயிற்சி அளிக்கிறது. “தகப்பன் சிட்சியாத புத்திரனுண்டோ?” என்று எபிரேயர் 12:7ல் நாம் வாசிக்கிறோம்.

 

பயன்பாடு: தேவன் என்னை பரீட்சித்துப் பார்க்கும்போது, அதில் உள்ள கஷ்டங்களையும், சிரமங்களையும் பார்ப்பதற்குப் பதிலாக, என் வாழ்வில் தேவன் ஏன் அனுமதிக்கிறார் என்பதை நான் புரிந்து கொண்டு, அத்தருணங்களை சமாளிப்பதற்காக தேவன் ஏற்பாடு பண்ணி வைத்திருக்கிறவைகளை நான் பார்க்க வேண்டும். எவ்வித கஷ்டமும் படாமல் எந்த ஒரு பயிற்சியும் எளிதாகக் கிடைப்பதில்லை. அப்படிப்பட்ட பயிற்சிக் காலங்களில், எந்த உணவையும் விட தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையானது அதிக பலத்தையும் தைரியத்தையும் எனக்குத் தரும். தேவன் என்னை சிட்சிக்கும்போது, அது என் நன்மைக்காகவே என்பதையும், நான் அவருடைய பரிசுத்தத்தில் பங்கு பெறும்படியாகவும் அதைச் செய்கிறார் என்பதை நான் நினைவில் கொள்ள வேண்டும் (எபி.12:10). என் தேவைகளைச் சந்திப்பதற்காக தேவனுடைய அற்புத ஏற்பாடுகளை நம்புவதன் மூலமாகவும், அவருடைய வார்த்தைகளுக்கு அன்புடன் கூடிய கீழ்ப்படிதலுடன், நான் சோதனையான நேரங்களைக் கடந்து வரும்போது, என் பரம தகப்பனவர் ஒரு மனித தகப்பனைப் போல என்னுடன் சேர்ந்து மகிழ்ச்சியடைகிறார்.  நான் அனுதினமும் இதை நினைவில் கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

ஜெபம்:  தேவனே, என்னை சிட்சிப்பதன் மூலம் நீர் என் மீது காட்டுகிற தகப்பனுக்குரிய அன்புக்காக  உமக்கு நன்றி. உம் அன்பின் இருதயத்தை புரிந்து கொள்ளவும், உம் வார்த்தைகளுக்கு எப்பொழுதும் கீழ்ப்படியவும் எனக்கு உதவும். பரலோகத்தில் இருக்கிற என் தந்தையே, தன் தகப்பனின் விருப்பத்தைக் கனப்படுத்துகிற ஒரு குழந்தையாக நான் வாழ எனக்கு உதவும். ஆமென்.

A Lesson to remember always

READ: Deuteronomy 7, 8; Psalm 80; Mark 12:28-44

SCRIPTURE: Deuteronomy 8: 2 Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.
3 He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
4 Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years.
5 Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you.

OBSERVATION: Israelites carried a lot of possessions and wealth from Egypt (Exo.12:35-38). At the start of their exodus journey, they might thought that they would reach Canaan in a short period of time to possess the promised land. However, God had other plans for them. Since Israelites were slaves, they might had not received any training other than their slavery work. In their journey, God humbled Israelites to know their heart and taught them to live in loving obedience and to trust in Him always. Of course, it was a tough learning period for the Israelites. However, those times of God's teaching and training were full of God's miraculous provision and protection. Israelites were taught to honor "every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord." God wants his people to know that he loves them like a father loves his child. Father's love trains his child to be equipped to face any future challenges. Hebrews 12: 7 says, "For what children are not disciplined by their father?" 

APPLICATION: When God tests me, instead of looking at the hardships and difficulties, I need to understand why God allows it in my life, and to look at God's provisions to handle such times. No training comes easily without enduring any hardships. During such training times, God's word would give me more strength and courage than any food. When God disciplines me, I should remember that  it is for my good, and that it is for I may share in his holiness (Heb.12:10). By trusting God's provisions and with a loving obedience to his words, when I pass through such testing times, my heavenly father rejoices with me, like a human father. I should remember this  everyday. 

PRAYER:  God, thank you for showing your fatherly love by disciplining me. Help me to understand your loving heart and to obey your words always. My Heavenly Father, help me to live as a child that honors his/her father's will. Amen.

இஸ்ரவேலே, கேள்!

வாசிக்க: உபாகமம் 5, 6; சங்கீதம் 79,  மாற்கு 12:1-27

வேதவசனம்: உபாகமம் 6: 4. இஸ்ரவேலே, கேள்: நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் ஒருவரே கர்த்தர்.
5. நீ உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரிடத்தில் உன் முழு இருதயத்தோடும், உன் முழு ஆத்துமாவோடும், உன் முழுப் பலத்தோடும் அன்புகூருவாயாக.
6. இன்று நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிற இந்த வார்த்தைகள் உன் இருதயத்தில் இருக்கக்கடவது. 
7. நீ அவைகளை உன் பிள்ளைகளுக்குக் கருத்தாய்ப் போதித்து, நீ உன் வீட்டில் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிறபோதும், வழியில் நடக்கிறபோதும், படுத்துக்கொள்ளுகிறபோதும், எழுந்திருக்கிறபோதும் அவைகளைக் குறித்துப் பே(சு).

கவனித்தல்: உபாகமம் 6:4 முதலான வசனங்கள் யூதர்களின் காலை மாலை ஜெபங்களில் முக்கியமான பங்கு வகிக்கின்றன. ஒருவராக இருக்கிற தேவன் மீதான தங்கள் நம்பிக்கையை அவர்கள் தெரிவிக்கும் யூத விசுவாச அறிக்கையின் ஒரு பகுதியாக இவ்வேதபகுதி இருக்கிறது. இது ஷேமா (The Shema) என்று அறியப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.  உபாகமம் 6:4 தேவனுடைய ஒருமையை (அதாவது அவர் ஒருவரே) என்பதையும், தேவனுடைய தனித்தன்மையை (அதாவது, அவருக்குச் சமமானவர்/ஒப்பானவர் எவரும் இல்லை) என்பதையும் வலியுறுத்துகிறது.  இஸ்ரவேலரைச் சுற்றிலும் வாழ்ந்த மக்கள் விக்கிரக வணக்கம் செய்பவர்களாகவும், பல தெய்வ நம்பிக்கை உடையவர்களாகவும் இருக்கையில், இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் தங்கள் விசுவாசத்தை தேவனுக்கு மாத்திரமே வெளிப்படுத்தவேண்டும். தேவன் ஒருவரே என்பதைக் குறிக்கப் பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டிருக்கும் echad  (எகாத்) என்ற வார்த்தையைக் கவனிப்பது மிகவும் சுவராசியத்தைத் தருகிறது. எகாத் என்ற வார்த்தையின் பொருள் தேவன் ஒரே ஒருவர் மாத்திரமே (ஒன்றே ஒன்று மட்டுமே) என்பதாக அல்லாமல், பன்மையில் ஒருமையைக் குறிக்கும் ஒரு வார்த்தையாக அது இருக்கிறது. உபாகமம் 6:5 ஆம் வசனத்தில் இருந்து, வெளியரங்கமாகவும் அந்தரங்கமாகவும் ஒருவர் தன் விசுவாசத்தை செயல்களில் காட்டுவது பற்றி சொல்லப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. தேவையுள்ள நேரங்களில் நினைவுபடுத்திக் கொள்ளவும், தேவனைப் பற்றி தியானிக்கவும், நாம் தேவனுடைய கற்பனைகளை நம் இருதயத்தில் காத்துக் கொள்ள வேண்டும். தேவனைப் பற்றிய அறிவை அடுத்த தலைமுறைக்கு எடுத்துச் சொல்வது, அவர்களும் தேவனை அறியச் செய்வது மிக முக்கியமானதாகும். நாம் என்ன செய்தாலும், எங்கிருந்தாலும், உட்கார்ந்து அல்லது நடந்து கொண்டிருந்தாலும் , படுத்திருந்தாலும் அல்லது எழுந்திருந்தாலும் நாம் தேவனுடைய வார்த்தைகளைக் குறித்துப் பேசலாம்/ பேசவேண்டும். ஆயினும், அது ஒரு சடங்காக செய்யப்படாமல், தேவன் மீது உள்ள அன்புடன் செய்யப்படவேண்டும். 

 

பயன்பாடு:  நான் தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையைக் கேட்கும்போது/வாசிக்கும்போது, என் தேவன் யார் என்பதை நான் அறிந்து கொள்கிறேன். அவர் எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் மேலானவர். அவரைப் போல, அவருக்கு ஒப்பானவர் வேறு யாரும் இல்லை. நான் தேவனைப் பற்றி அறிந்து கொள்ளும்போது, அவர் மீதான என் அன்பு என்பது என் இதயம், ஆத்துமா மற்றும் என் கைகளின் இயல்பான வெளிப்பாடாக அது இருக்கிறது. நான் தேவனுடைய வார்த்தைகளை என் இதயத்தில் காத்துக் கொள்ளும்போது, என் வாழ்வில் வரக்கூடிய அனேக ஆபத்துகளில் இருந்து அது என்னைப் பாதுகாக்கிறது.  நான் எங்கிருந்தாலும், என்ன செய்து கொண்டிருந்தாலும், நான் தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையைக் குறித்து சிந்திக்க்கவும், பேசவும் முடியும்.நான் அதை அனுதினமும் செய்வேன். 

ஜெபம்:  சர்வ வல்லமையுள்ள தேவனே, நீர் யார் என்பதை எனக்கு வெளிப்படுத்துகிறதற்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. நீரே என் ஆண்டவர், நீரே என் தேவன். உம்மைப் போல யாருண்டு! என் மீட்பரே, உம்மை முழு இருதயத்தோடு நேசிக்கவும்,  வார்த்தைகளில் மட்டுமல்ல, செயல்களிலும் என் அன்பை காண்பிக்க எனக்கு உதவும். ஆமென்.

Hear, O Israel!

READ: Deuteronomy 5, 6; Psalm 79; Mark 12:1-27

SCRIPTURE: Deuteronomy 6: 4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.
7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 

OBSERVATION: Deuteronomy 6:4-9 plays an important role in the Jewish morning and evening prayers. It is a part of Jewish faith declaration of their belief in one God, which is known as "The Shema." Deut. 6:4 emphasizes God's unity (i.e. he is one) and God's uniqueness (i.e. there is no equal to him). While the people who lived around the Israelites were into idol worship and had polytheistic beliefs, Israelites were to express their allegiance to God alone.  It is interesting to see the Hebrew word echad that is used to express the unity of God. The word Echad refers the uniplurality of God, not the absolute oneness. From Deut.6:5 onwards, an instruction for a child of God is given to show his faith in action, both internally and outwardly. To remember in times of need and to meditate on God, we should keep God's commandments in our heart. It is very important to pass on the knowledge of God to the next generation so that they too can know God. Whatever we do, whether we sit or walk, lie down or get up, we can/should talk about God's words. However, it should be done  with Love, not as a ritual.

APPLICATION: When I hear God's word, I understand who my God is! He is the LORD! He sovereigns over everything. There is none like him. When I know about God, my love for him is a natural expression of my heart, soul and hands. When I keep God's words in my heart, it saves me from many dangers that could come along in my life. No matter what I do or where I am, I can think and talk about the Word of God. I will do it everyday.

நான் ஜெபிக்கும்போது நினைவில் கொள்ளவேண்டிய இரண்டு காரியங்கள்

 வாசிக்க: உபாகமம் 3, 4; சங்கீதம் 78,  மாற்கு 11:20-33

வேதவசனம்: மாற்கு 11: 24. ஆதலால், நீங்கள் ஜெபம்பண்ணும்போது எவைகளைக் கேட்டுக்கொள்வீர்களோ, அவைகளைப் பெற்றுகொள்வோம் என்று விசுவாசியுங்கள், அப்பொழுது அவைகள் உங்களுக்கு உண்டாகும் என்று சொல்லுகிறேன்.
25. நீங்கள் நின்று ஜெபம்பண்ணும்போது, ஒருவன்பேரில் உங்களுக்கு யாதொரு குறை உண்டாயிருக்குமானால், பரலோகத்திலிருக்கிற உங்கள் பிதா உங்கள் தப்பிதங்களை உங்களுக்கு மன்னிக்கும்படி, அந்தக் குறையை அவனுக்கு மன்னியுங்கள்.

கவனித்தல்:  மேலே காணும் வேதபகுதியானது ஜெபம் பற்றிய இரண்டு முக்கியமான பாடங்களை நமக்குக் கற்றுக் கொடுக்கிறது. முதலாவதாக, நாம் ஜெபங்களில் எதையாகிலும் தேவனிடம் கேட்கும்போது, நாம் அதைப் பெற்றுக் கொண்டோம் என்று விசுவாசிக்க வேண்டும். பின்னர் அதை உடையவர்களாக நாம் இருப்போம். அனேக நவீன கால “விசுவாச வார்த்தை” மற்றும் "மிஞ்சின கிருபை” போதகர்கள் தங்கள் விளக்கங்களை இந்த வசனத்திற்குக் கொடுத்து அனேகரை தவறாக வழிநடத்துகிறார்கள். நம் ஜெபங்களுக்காகக் காத்திருந்து, நாம் கேட்டவுடன் அதை செயல்படுத்தும் ஒருவரல்ல நம் தேவன். நம் சுயநல இருதயத்தில் இருந்து வரும் கட்டளை ஜெபங்களை உடனே செயல்படுத்த, அவர் ஒரு தானியங்கி இயந்திரமோ அல்லது இயந்திர மனிதனோ (ரோபோ) அல்ல.  மாற்கு 10 ஆம் அதிகாரத்தில், ”எதைக்கேட்டாலும்” என்ற கோரிக்கையுடன் வந்த சீடர்களுக்கு இயேசு என்ன செய்தார் என்பதை நாம் ஏற்கனவே பார்த்தோம்.இங்கே மாற்கு 11:24 ல், ”எவைகள்” என்ற வார்த்தை நாம் விரும்புகிற எதைவேண்டுமானாலும் தேவனிடம் கேட்கலாம் என்பதைக் குறிக்கவில்லை. அப்படி பொருள் தருமெனில், அது உலகப் பொருள்களுக்கு முதலிடம் கொடுக்கும் கருத்தியல் சிந்தனைக்கு (materialism)  அழைத்துச் செல்வதாக இருக்கும். நாம் பேராசைப்படுபவைகளுக்கு அல்ல, நமக்குத் தேவையானவைகளைக் குறித்து ஜெபிக்க வேண்டும் என எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறோம். ஒருவரின் பேராசையை எதுவும் திருப்தி செய்யாது. நாம் தேவனுடைய வார்த்தை மற்றும் சித்ததிற்கேற்ப ஜெபிக்கும்போது, நாம் பெற்றுக்கொண்டோம் என்று விசுவாசிக்க முடியும், பின்னர் தேவனுடைய வேளையில் உடையவர்களாகவும் இருப்போம். ஜெபம் செய்ய இயேசு நம்மை உற்சாகப்படுத்துகிறார். ஏனெனில், அவர் நம்முடன் உறவாட/உரையாட விரும்புகிறார். 

இரண்டாவதாக, நாம் ஜெபிக்கும்போது, நமக்கு விரோதமாக காரியங்களைச் செய்த மற்றவர்களை மன்னிக்கவேண்டும் என எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறோம். அனேக கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் நடைமுறையில் இது சாத்தியமற்றது என நினைக்கிறார்கள். நான் எப்படி இதைச் செய்ய முடியும், ஏன் செய்யவேண்டும், நான் என்ன தவறு செய்தேன் என்பன போன்ற பல கேள்விகளை அவர்கள் கேட்கிறார்கள். பழிவாங்கல் மற்றும் கசப்பு காரணமாக, தங்களால் மன்னிக்க முடியாத நபர்களுக்கு எதிராக சிலர் ஜெபிக்கவும் செய்கிறார்கள். நீங்கள் பரலோகத்தில் இருந்து மன்னிப்பைப் பெற விரும்பினால், மற்றவர்களை மன்னியுங்கள் என்று இயேசு இங்கே சொல்கிறார். எவருக்கும் விரோதமாக எதையும் மனதில் வைக்க வேண்டாம். மன்னிக்கமுடியாத தன்மை என்பது உண்மையில் நமக்கு நாமே கொடுத்துக் கொள்கிற ஒரு சுய தண்டனை ஆக இருக்கிறது. நாம் மற்றவர்களை மன்னியாமல் இருக்கிற காலம் வரைக்கும், நாம் மன்னியாமல் இருக்கிற மனிதர்களைப் பார்க்கிலும் நாம் தான் அதிக வேதனைகளை அனுபவிக்கிறவர்களாக இருக்கிறோம். தேவன் நம் பாவங்களை மன்னிக்க வேண்டும் என நாம் எதிர்பார்க்கும்போது, நமக்கு விரோதமாக மற்றவர்கள் செய்த சிறிய பாவங்களை அல்லது காரியங்களை நாம் மன்னிக்க வேண்டும் என தேவன் எதிர்பார்ப்பதில் என்ன தவறு இருக்கிறது. மற்றவர்களை மன்னித்தல் என்பது உண்மையில் நம்மை அழுத்துகிற அனேக காரியங்களில் இருந்து நம்மை விடுவிக்கிறதாகவும், தேவனுடைய மன்னிப்பு, மகிழ்ச்சி மற்றும் மனச்சமாதானம் ஆகியவைகளை பெற்றனுபவிக்க உதவுகிறதாகவும் இருக்கிறது. 

 

பயன்பாடு: நான் ஜெபிக்கும்போது, தேவன் விரும்புகிறது எதுவோ அதை அவர் எனக்குத் தரும்படி நான் கேட்பேன். நான் தேவனுடைய இருதயத்தையும், விருப்பங்களையும் புரிந்து கொள்ள தேவனுடைய வார்த்தை எனக்கு உதவுகிறது. எனக்கு எதிரான ஒரு நபர் என்னிடம் மன்னிப்பு கேட்கவில்லை என்றாலும் கூட, நான் அவரை மன்னிக்க தயாராக இருப்பேன். நான் மற்றவர்களை மன்னிக்கும்போது, தேவன் அதைக் கண்டு, என்னை மன்னிப்பதன் மூலம் என் செயலை கனப்படுத்துகிறார். இந்த இரண்டு காரியங்களையும் நான் செய்யும்போது, என் ஜெபங்களை தேவன் ஏற்றுக் கொள்கிறார் என்ற என் நம்பிக்கையை அது அதிகரிக்கிறது.

ஜெபம்:  இயேசுவே,  ஜெபம் பற்றிய இந்த அருமையான விலைமதிப்பற்ற இரண்டு முத்துக்களுக்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. ஜெபத்தில் நான் எதையும் சரியாகக் கேட்கவும், எவ்வித வெறுப்புமின்றி மற்றவர்களை மன்னிக்கவும் எனக்கு உம் ஞானத்தையும் பலத்தையும் தாரும். ஆமென்.

Two Things to Remember when I Pray

READ: Deuteronomy 3, 4; Psalm 78; Mark 11:20-33

SCRIPTURE: Mark 11: 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

OBSERVATION: The above scripture passage teaches us two important lessons about prayer. Firstly, when we ask something in our prayers to God, we need to believe that we have received it. Then we will have it. Many modern day "Word of Faith" and "Hyper Grace" preachers give their own interpretations to this verse and mislead many Christians. Our God is not someone who just waits for our prayers to execute our words immediately. He is not a vending machine or a Robot to act upon our commanding prayers of our selfish heart. In Mark 10, we already saw what Jesus did to his disciples who came with a demand of "whatever we ask." Here in Mark 11:24, the word  "whatever" does not mean that we can ask God whatever we want. If so, it would lead to materialism. We are expected to pray for what we need, not what we greed. Nothing satisfies one's greediness. When we pray in line with God's word and will, we can believe that we received, and will have it  in HIS time. Jesus encourages us to pray, for he loves to commune with us.

Secondly, when we pray, we are expected to forgive others who did things against us. Many Christians think that it is practically impossible. They ask questions like, how can I, why, what wrong I did, and so on. In vengeance and bitterness, some even pray against the people whom they find it hard to forgive. Here, Jesus tells us that if you want to receive forgiveness from heaven, forgive others. Do not hold anything against anyone. Unforgiveness is actually a painful self-punishment. As long as we do not forgive others, it is we who experience  more pains than the people we did not forgive. When we expect God to forgive our sins, what is wrong for God to expect us to forgive the petty sins or things that others committed against us. Forgiving people is actually set us free from many pressing things and helps us to experience God's forgiveness, joy and peace. 

APPLICATION: When I pray, I will ask God to give me whatever he desires. The word of God helps me to understand his heart and desires. Even if a person who is against me does not ask for a forgiveness, I will be ready to forgive him/her. When I forgive others, God sees it and honors it by forgiving me. When I do this two, it increases my confidence of God's acceptance of my prayers.

PRAYER: Jesus, thank you for these two wonderful pearls regarding prayer. Give me your wisdom and strength to ask "whatever" rightly in prayer, and to forgive others without any grudge. Amen.

ஒரு கனியற்ற மரத்தின் அழிவு

  வாசிக்க: உபாகமம் 1, 2; சங்கீதம் 77,  மாற்கு 11:1-19

வேதவசனம்: மாற்கு 11: 13. அப்பொழுது இலைகளுள்ள ஒரு அத்திமரத்தைத் தூரத்திலே (இயேசு)  கண்டு, அதில் ஏதாகிலும் அகப்படுமோ என்று பார்க்கவந்தார். அத்திப்பழக் காலமாயிராதபடியால், அவர் அதினிடத்தில் வந்தபோது அதில் இலைகளையல்லாமல், வேறொன்றையும் காணவில்லை.
14. அப்பொழுது இயேசு அதைப்பார்த்து: இதுமுதல் ஒருக்காலும் ஒருவனும் உன்னிடத்தில் புசியாதிருக்கக்கடவன் என்றார்; அதை அவருடைய சீஷர்கள் கேட்டார்கள்.

கவனித்தல்:  இயேசு அத்திமரத்தில் கனி கிடைக்குமா என்று தேடிப் பார்த்தது, எருசலேம் தேவாலயத்திற்கு அவர் செல்வதற்கு முன் நிகழ்ந்த பீடிகையான ஒரு செயல் ஆகும். அத்தி மரம் இலைகள் நிறைந்து இருக்கும்போது வழக்கமாக அதில் கனிகள் அதிகம் இருக்கும். இங்கே, இந்த மரம் ஒரு விதிவிலக்காக இருக்கிறது.  தொலைவில் இருந்து பார்க்கும்போது அது கனி நிறைந்த மரம் போல காட்சியளித்தது. ஆனால், இயேசு அருகில் வந்து பார்த்தபோது, இலைகளைத் தவிர வேறொன்றுமில்லை. இலைகள் நிறைந்த அந்த மரத்தின் கனியற்ற தன்மை குறித்து இயேசு ஏமாற்றமடைந்திருக்க வேண்டும். அந்த மரம் பற்றி இயேசு சொன்னதை அவருடைய சீடர்கள் கேட்டனர். பழைய ஏற்பாட்டில், தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் தேவனுடைய நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு மற்றும் தண்டனை பற்றி தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்லும்போது இஸ்ரவேலர்களை அத்திமரத்துடன் ஒப்பிட்டனர் ( உதாரணமாக, எரே.8:13, ஓசியா 9:10). இயேசு எருசலேம் தேவாலயத்தில் வந்த போது, அந்த இடத்தின் பரிசுத்தக் குலைச்சலை அவர் பார்த்தார். தேவனை அறியாத புறஜாதியார் தேவனைத் தொழுதுகொள்ள அனுமதிப்பதற்குப் பதிலாக, ஆராதனை மற்றும் ஜெபத்திற்கான அந்த இடத்தை யூதர்கள்  ஒரு வியாபார மையமாக மாற்றி இருந்தனர். எருசலேம் பற்றி இயேசு சொன்ன தீர்க்கதரிசனம் பின்னாட்களில் எப்படி நிறைவேறியது என்பதை வரலாறு நமக்குச் சொல்கிறது. 

 

பயன்பாடு: வெளித்தோற்றத்தில் நான் என்னை மற்றவர்களுக்கு எப்படி காண்பிக்கிறேன் என்பதைக் குறித்து நான் கவலைப்படுகிறவனாக இருக்கக் கூடும். ஆனால், இயேசுவோ, நான் கனிதருகிற ஒரு நபராக இருப்பதைக் காண விரும்புகிறார். என்னில் இலைகளைத் தவிர வேறெதையும், அதாவது எந்தக் கனியும் என்னில் காணப்படவில்லை எனில், நான் இயேசுவுக்கு ஏமாற்றத்தைக் கொடுக்கிறவனாக இருக்கிறேன்.  கனியுள்ள ஒரு நபராக நான் இருப்பதற்கு, தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையை நான் தியானித்து, அதன்படி வாழவேண்டும் (சங்.1). இயேசுவின்  சீடராகிய நான், இயேசு அந்த கனியற்ற அத்தி மரத்தைப் பற்றி சொன்னதை நான் கேட்கிறேன். நான் இலைகளைக் குறித்து அல்ல, கனிகளைக் குறித்த கரிசனையுள்ளவனாக இருப்பேன். 

ஜெபம்:  இயேசுவே, நான் உமக்கு கனிதருகிறவனாக இருக்க வேண்டும் என்று நினைவுபடுத்துவதற்காக உமக்கு நன்றி. ஒரு உண்மையான சீடராக வாழ்ந்து, உம் அன்பைக் காண்பிக்கவும், மற்றவர்களுடன் கனியுள்ள வாழ்க்கையை நான் பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளவும்  எனக்கு உதவும். உமக்காக அதிகக் கனிகளைத் தருவதற்கு, நான் உம்மில் நிலைத்திருக்க எனக்கு உதவும். ஆமென்.
